    Machaca con Huevos ($22)
    Rachel L.

Unfortunately super unimpressed by the taste of the food. I got the Mixto Paella which is a mix of seafood & chicken. They describe the dish to come with "caramelized crispy rice" which supposedly is what makes a good paella. I've never had a paella before but this set the standard pretty low. Instead of crispy, the squid ink rice was incredibly soggy/watery throughout the entire dish, and just tasted of lemon and salt. The chicken was slightly overcooked and the egg and seafood lacked flavor. Kind of just tasted like a sour salty soggy mess of a dish, and a $30 one at that! The Machaca con huevos were just okay. Flavor was lacking as well. What really saved the experience was the absolutely beautiful interior and seating. We were sat near a window that peered over the nearby river. Very scenic. The service was good and I have no complaints in that aspect.

First time here and loved it! My brother who's been before told us we needed to get their chicken paella and I'm so glad we did, it was delicious. We also had the mixed berry salad which I loved & papas for appetizer. The drinks were good; carajillo, Hugo spritz and their sparkling rose were all awesome. The lemon sorbet & pistachio tart (gf) were also yummy. Service was nice & efficient and the inside of the restaurant is so cute!

So glad we came here for brunch. We came with a reservation for 10:15am on a Saturday. It did not look busy at all and we got a nice seat under the umbrellas. It has a beautiful, bright and clean exterior. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered the Shakshouka- made perfectly, daughter ate the whole thing chicken and waffles - amazing flavors and texture and portion was perfect pesto mushroom steak bites - perfectly cooked, flavorful and tender. Prices were not too bad either. I would highly recommend this place if in the area.

The lovely view out my window.

Where to go on Easter for brunch? Luna Red has an extensive menu, gracious help and a fabulous view of the creek it sits beside. Our waitress was charming and accommodating to my specific dietary needs. The resultant dish was delicious. The only complaint I have, is one I make often: the music is too loud and intrusive to my enjoying the mean more fully.

Wow is a good start rating this place. I've walked by it numerous of time and only checked the menu once a while back. It's one of those things where you don't know what you want but every menu all looks the same. We finally tried it out for dinner after a weekend in the wine country. The restaurant is right in the heart of downtown SLO next to the park and riverwalk. We had an early reservation at 6 on a Saturday and let me say the place was packed. The outside patio was completely full which was nice to see. Checking in was easy with the hostess. All was sweet and made it fast and simply and we were seated right away without having to wait for the whole party to arrive. Menu wise, a bit of everything but they specialized in paella's. And that was had. Our waitress Kaitlin was the sweetest. Right from the start, she was a major doll. Made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole dining experience. Started off with a bottle of red for the table. A good selections from their menu. Then a few small shared plates for the table. An order of the bacon wrapped dates, Brussels sprouts, Peruvian shrimp ceviche and the gambas al ajillo. First off the dates, very tasty with salty and sweet. A good bite size with about 6 piece. Then the ceviche, nice chunks of shrimp with all the trimming. Cucumber, red onions, tomatoes , avocado, cilantro and chips. Then you have the sprouts which is pretty self explanatory. Roasted to a nice crisp with golden raisins and almonds. Pretty decent and delicious. Lastly the gambas, sautéed shrimp in paprika garlic and white wine sauce with a Parmesan slice of sourdough bread. Everything was delicious and a good start to an amazing meal. I do recommend the starters. For our entree, even though we started off with loads of the shared plates. The mains all looked amazing. Clearly we had to have the paella which they're known for. There were couple options in them but we opted for the mix which was a combination of the seafood and meat paella. Let me say it was massive and clearly more than enough for four of us. The nice big chunks of seafood and meat which they did not skimp on. The flavors and the whole combination of everything together, chefs kiss. It was pretty massive as well. Of course we couldn't just stop there, we also had the lamb chops with frites. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. The hanger steak with chimichurri sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes and sautéed broccolini. That dish was excellent and steak was cooked perfectly. Lastly, I believe it was one of their specials the sea bass. A nice thick and flaky piece of fish on top of a red sauce of tomatoes, olives. The flavor was excellent and worth it. The food was excellent and it was a surprise when there were leftovers. We may have over done it with the extra entrees after seeing the massive platter of paella. But every dish was excellent and worth it. The service was great with everyone involved. Friendly staff and excellent customer service. The food and wine were great. The whole dining experience was top notch and greatly enjoyed. We will definitely be back. At least we know about the paella now...lol... A must and highly recommend. Too full to even looked at the dessert menu.

Have been wanting to come here for so long and day glad we finally popped in The patio here has always caught my eye with the red tables that pop and the cute twinkling lights, dreamy romantic vibe Anyways we stopped by for a quick snack and drink before heading back home but definitely will be back for an actual meal in the future The service was great, we walked in no reservation around 4pm and were immediately seated. Our served was so sweet and personable. Our drinks were good as well as the bread we ordered. As mentioned before, looking forward to enjoying a meal here next time!

Part of a salmon taco! Loved it, decided to take a picture and post here.

The food was fabulous! We haven't been here in a while, they (new chef??) have upped their game. Everything a fun outdoor restaurant during concerts at the mission should be. And staff was so very attentive! Did I mention that we loved it!!??!!

Four stars for the food overall, one extra star for the service and overall dining experience. We booked a dinner for 4 noting it's for a birthday. Arriving at the restaurant the receptionist confirmed with us again about the occasion, and when we were seated there's a happy birthday card on the table. After we finished our food we were served a complementary sorbet. Shout out to TJ for the excellent service. Now on the food. We ordered the classic Del Mar paella, and brussels sprouts and steak skewers for appetizers. We (two adults two toddlers) finished all the appetizers with a small box of paella to go, just for reference. We loved the brussels sprouts. The paella was also quite good. I am a little disappointed at the skewers. Not that it's bad, but I was imaging beef cubes, not a thin slice, which tends to be a bit more dry and chewy.

I've walked by Luna so many times. It was a crazy long wait for Finneys so we opted to eat here. This place is just amazing! Food, service, atmosphere it has it all. I had the AJI Verde chicken, husband had Birra and Pork tacos and we shared bacon wrapped with date appetizer.Everything was amazing except husband thought his Birra tacos were just OK. Definitely one of the best meals I had in the last 6 months! Service was fantastic and so quick with drinks, food and appreciate one of the waitstaff getting outdoor heater blazing!

We were in San Luis Obispo and were walking around downtown to find the most enticing restaurant to dine at. After checking out around half a dozen options, we decided on Luna red as the ambiance looked amazing and the menu had options for all the picky eaters in our group. We got seated outdoors and they had sufficient number of patio umbrellas to shelter us from the afternoon sun. The outdoors was really beautiful, they had plenty of greenery and it was like a tropical paradise. We got a lot of appetizers to share, they have options to order 4, 6 or 10 tacos. We got 10 start off with. I personally got a paella as it has been forever since I had it. *brussel sprouts- 4.5/5- one of the better versions of brussel sprouts I have had in a while, they were beautifully roasted, they retained their character but at the same time were delicious instead of tasting too healthy. *fingerling potatoes-4.5/5- potatoes tend to be tasty any which way they are cooked. The standout in this version was the finger licking sauce it was doused in. *paella- 4.5/5- I got the chicken paella. It came with a soft jammy egg. The dish had 75% protein and about 25% rice. The rice at the bottom was nicely crisped up. The chicken was in large chunks but surprisingly non funky and wonderfully flavored. I stole some of the sauce from the tacos to amp up this dish further. 4.5 for the food, rounding up for the good vibes and great ambiance!

We tried this spot on our way to Monterey because of all the great reviews and were very happy we discovered this gem! PARKING as a little tough. We found a parking structure about 2 blocks away, but the walk was enjoyable. The area gave me Santa Barbara Main Street vibes, lots of cute little shops to look at on the way. Once we arrived we walked into this BEAUTIFUL BIG OUTDOOR PATIO. Perfect way to enjoy lunch on a sunny day ( if you don't mind a couple bugs flying here and there during the summer). Bacon wrapped dates were ok. I think I was expecting something that would be exploding with flavor, but didn't happen for me. They looked small, but still tasted good and different from what I'm used to. This one came with chorizo and light goat cheese. My favorite were the STREET TACOS! The Kalua Pork with cucumber salad, Birria with pickled onion, and Rockfish with creamy lime coleslaw were incredible and totally worth 4 for $13 on Taco Tuesday! They're generously packed and loaded so be ready to open wide and be sure to GET EXTRA HULI SAUCE, SALSA, and side of goat cheese to dip the birria one into- soo good! We even ordered 10 to go and they still tasted amazing warmed up in the microwave late at night. Sangria Roja was light and refreshing! In the mood for DESSERT? Get the APPLE PEAR and FRANGIPANE crisp- it is AMAZING!! It's warm, sweet, fruity, cinnamony, caramely, it's topped with crispy granola oat crumbles and served with vanilla ice cream! Try it! Staff is friendly and attentive. You can make a reservation online and let them know if there's a special occasion!

Came here on a Sunday during the summer for a late lunch with family. We sat outside with our dog. Our server was very nice and moved the umbrella for us to keep us in the shade as it was quite hot that day. My husband and daughter shared two different paellas (Del Mar and De La Luna). They both enjoyed their food. I sampled a little bit, and liked both dishes as well, especially the De La Luna with black squid ink rice. I ordered the shakshouka. It's much better than the one I ordered at a different restaurant. The rich tomato sauce was flavorful. Decent portion size. Overall, a nice environment to have a relaxing lunch with family.

Had seen Luna Red over the years and finally decided to made a reservation. Quickly sat inside near the bar. Server Paolo was friendly, ordered a Vodka Collins and Chiquilla te quiero for drinks and the warm goat cheese toast and tortilla soup. Drinks were delicious, loved the goat cheese toast but it is a big serving, tortilla soup was good but more onion than anything. Del Mar paella came out quick but apps were pretty filling so sadly got full very quick. Paella was good but more so fish than clams or shrimp. We wanted to get boxes but our server was missing for 20 mins before we could flag him down. Our empty appetizer plates sat there the whole time during the meal and we were never asked if we wanted another drink. Not sure if it was just too busy of a night but service was lack luster. I had also put our reservation down as a celebration for my mom, but no one had ever asked about it. We always come up to the coast every year to celebrate her chemo anniversary and always choose one nice restaurant each year. Sadly this one wasn't as great of experience as other restaurants in years past.

No regrets. We ordered drinks and fries to share and those fries were what I would call perfect fries. Crispy outside, soft inside, perfectly seasoned, and honestly so addicting. The sauce selection was elite and their house sauce is bomb. Simple order but it completely delivered. Our server was so sweet and made the whole stop feel really easy and welcome. The vibe in this place is immaculate. I would love to come back for a full evening and a proper meal because I can already tell I'd love it. But there's also something to be said for a spot this classy being just as enjoyable in the middle of a random afternoon. That's a good sign.

The swollen images are from my anaphylactic episode the night before of and the rotten tomatoe red is the next day when I have systemic inflammation with a number of ugly body wide symtoms. Now I'm not from the area, just passing through, at a hotel and safe food options are very limited. So I do my due diligence of course! I call ahead to ask about what I might order before hand. Gnochi with sage and cream sauce should be fine. Gyoza should be fine since the app says you can get the glaze on the side and nix the Kimchi. But I call to check just in case. * I ask the girl on the phone if the Gyoza sans Kimchi - is spicy or not. She said it wasn't spicy. I said - so without Kimchi, it's just a regular Gyoza? She said verbatim - yep it's just "regular gyoza". I said "great. So I will order that as soon as I'm off the phone then. " Got the food. - Well firstly - it is not just a regular Gyoza - even without the Kimchi it is spicy as hell! It is one of the spiciest things I have eatten and I only had one little bite. My mouth was on fire for 20 minutes. It definitely has a very very high level spice in the meat. And the glaze (which was not on the side) literally had red pepper flakes in it. So definitely not "regular gyoza". As for the gnocchi which became shells instead - the cream sage sauce was crazy. And I don't mean crazy fun. First it wasn't delicious. It was a bit bland but also weirdly a super strong sage flavor. I quickly realized it was...hurting? Not in my allergy way, but just - pain. After another bite I realized, they used not just sage the herb but sage oil. Cooking with Sage oil is controversial and should only be done by the best of the best, in precise and teensy measurements because you could burn or make someone sick It burned my throat. It recovered after a few days. But it hurt like a you know what till then. And luckily I realized what was going on (thanks to my essential oil knowledge) and stopped eating after just a few bites. What if I had eaten way more? I am guessing - no thanks to their grubhub page (which just presented as high end fusion food that was allergy friendly) and no thanks to the girl who answered the phones - that likely their restaurant theme is super intense flavors. But even so playing around with sage oil (when just half a drop too much can burn someone) is a bit too frickin feral. - or if you absolutely must use sage oil - list it, not only on the restaurant menu but on the apps as well. 5 stars absolutely not given. And before all the unepathetic, lucky people - who can eat whatever they want - ask "why would someone with all those allergies even try to order from a place like this". I was traveling. I didn't have many options. AND - i called ahead to check it was safe.

0/5 I got kicked out…read moreof the mark for defending myself???? A man earlier on in the night (Friday night July 24th) for no reason, when all I did was say excuse me and scooted past him. He said to me: "move or imma beat your ass." So I replied, I was just trying to get through but please don't because I'm just a girl." He replied, "Then look like it." Later on in the night he shoulder checked me, so, to defend myself, I shoved him. He bucked up on me and threatened security and a camera check. Tell me why I got kicked out??? I am a respectful person and I will always leave anywhere if asked to go. Why did the bouncer grab me and start shoving me out the door. He grabbed my INJURED arm. When I yelped, "ouch my arm is injured please let go, I am leaving." His response was "Don't fight back or I'll call the cops." Unacceptable. F*ck this place and the employees. I will NEVER be back and I will also discourage anyone from going by enlightening them on my AWFULLLLL experience. EDIT: What an unprofessional response, but not surprised after reading your responses to other patrons. Who the f*ck are you to tell me the extent of my injury?! Regardless of how big or small NOBODY would want their wound manhandled. There were people everywhere and I was walked towards the exit. You don't kick someone out of an establishment by grabbing and manhandling them. Your security just wants an excuse to put their hands on people and take advantage of their power. I did not shove multiple people so that claim is 100% false. Also never said I was an employee, nor would I ever want to work for you?? I shoved ONE person that shoulder checked me and threatened to beat me up for no reason. Show some professionalism in your responses to upset guests, it makes you look pathetic and childish. Do better, Rhianna.
