Horrible experience, i don't like leaving bad reviews. It was no willingness to help solve the problem. Pamela ensured me I had no idea what I was talking about, I ordered pickup via Yelp app. Apparently they come through as GrubHub orders even on a pick up. She continue to tell me that you can't order through yelp even when I showed her that you could when I went in she said I was wrong $49 out of my bank account. We'll see if it reverses and they had a record of the order, but they shut off GrubHub. She had my name and the order, but they don't accept them. I used to love El Rodeo, it was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in fishers. But recently, the quality has plummeted while prices increased. I was charged $15 for a plain quesadilla and one soft drink! My friend got the shrimp dinner, and had to pay $33.98 even though the menu price was much lower. Our server was rude and ignored our table the entire time. When I tipped him, he complained about the amount! I was disgusted by the service and quality of the restaurant. The service was fine. The server was attentive and there wasn't a long wait for anything. The interior feels like every other Mexican joint one would find on the corner of a strip mall. Ultimately, no complaints there. My issue lies with the food. While nothing was inedible, the best part were the complimentary chips and salsa. I had ordered the 'Hot & Spicy Burrito'. El Rodeo is my go to place for Mexican food in the Fisher,IN area. Frozen margaritas are huge, tacos and arroz con pollo is delicious every time! They also have amazing white queso. I always love their taco salad as well I as just tried the Rodeo taco salad. It was not what I was expecting but it was still delicious. We went on Easter and the place was dead. It's fine though because it was the fifth place we tried so honestly that gets a star in itself. We got fajitas and they were delicious. Salsa was spicy and on point. But we also ordered a Chile poblano. Normally this big pepper with cheese and sauce doesn't have skin and isn't tough, but that's what we received so we sent it back. We got the next one and it was even worse than before. The waiter, both times, said it was "probably because it was an old pepper." Take that as you will. Was our go to, mediocre at best, Mexican restaurant until they made ridiculous price increases. There are much better restaurants than El Rodeo's that don't smell like sewage. There is a horrible smell that hits you like a ton of bricks when you walk in the door. The smell becomes more tolerable as you spend more time in the restaurant. The service is extremely slow. I used to be a semi regular here because I work on the same strip but I will no longer order from this business. I ordered food with shrimp in it and when I got it the shrimp was undercooked. I understand sometimes things happen but I went in and the guy who spoke to me was very rude and didn't want to refund me my money even though the food hadn't been eaten and I brought it all back. The WORST Mexican food my family has ever had. My husband had arroz con pollo (pretty hard to mess up). The chicken was dry, not cut up, and presentation sucked! He requested tortillas for his meal and they were very crispy for soft tortillas. I had shredded beef chimichanga and the ends were completely burnt. I could only eat the center. The tortilla chips we were served prior to our meal were very hard and chewy. It was like they sat out in 100% humidity for a week.We will not return to this place again. read more

We have started to go to this location after the Geist location shut its doors. (We were super disappointed when they closed.) After going to the Olio location now twice we have encountered the same issues. Understaffed and weak drinks. There were two servers for the entire restaurant plus a chip guy. When asked for a box for our food to take home, our server said that it was going to take a few mins because she was busy with the other tables.. when the boxes were two tables away on the drink station. We also ordered frozen margaritas and they were so sweet with very little to no alcohol in them. On a positive note, the food is always consistent and good. It also comes out very quickly which is helpful with our small children!! Unfortunately, we will probably find a new Mexican restaurant where we are guaranteed a good drink and service every time. read more

El Rodeo is a place that is very near and dear in my heart. I have been going for years. Probably ever since I was around 8 years old. We go there so frequently (almost every week) that the employees know my family and always say hi. The El Rodeo we go to is always super clean and organized. The customer service is amazing; every person who works there is really kind. The food is so good and really authentic. You can tell that the employees really care and enjoy their job. Closest Mexican restaurant to our house but will not be back. Seated right away but that was the last of the good service. It was quite a while before we were greeted at the table and asked about beverages. I ordered a water, and my husband had a sprite (not a difficult order). Got the beverages as food was being delivered (by someone other than our waiter). Never saw our waiter again after he took our order. No one stopped by the table to refill drinks during the meal. No one asked if we needed to go containers for the food we didn't finish. We ended up heading out since no one was checking in on us. I have had occasionally had poor service at a restaurant but seldom have I received no service. My wife wanted Mexican food this evening so we went to El Rodeo. I have been here before and the food is decent so we stopped here in spite of the reviews. We walked in and were asked the size of our party. The host was told 2 and he walked off for us to follow. We were unable to follow due to a handicapped woman exiting so we tried to keep up. He put menus on a table as I was watching him from a distance and walked off, failing to ensure we had found our table. A few minutes later, a waiter came to our table with salsa and chips and asked for our drink and food order. I ordered a sprite and my wife ordered a water. He returned with our drinks and I never interacted with him again until he came to give us our check. Someone came out with our food and no one ever made contact with us again throughout our dinner until we were leaving. The food was average quality and was exactly as expected. I currently have a cold so everything is very bland right now anyway so I can't say that the food was bad in any way. My wife seemed to enjoy it but when I pay for dinner service, I expect actual service. I don't think that's a lot to ask. There are many other Mexican style restaurants in town so I suppose we will have to go to one of them next time. read more

So my wife and I ordered dinner to have it delivered through a service. The service did a wonderful job. However the food we got was wrong. When we called to talk to them about it they continually blamed us. We have been frequently attending this establishment for 10 plus years and never have had such rude service from both the host who answered the phone and the manager who supposedly took over the call. Our receipt stated exactly what we wanted but what we got was not what was on the bill. Once my wife called to ask about it we were treated rudely and then they abruptly hung up on us. Ordered carry out, which was frustrating since the menu we found online was inaccurate but finally got order placed (fajitas Cozumel, quesadilla, and a taco salad). The quesadilla was oily and flavorless (my son wouldn't eat it). Before you go thinking it was because it was carry out- we live super close and ate the food immediately. The fajitas were adequate but nothing to get excited about. But the real issue was my taco salad. The tortilla shell tasted heavily like that Fabuloso lavender cleaner. It was disgusting. So I thought I'd just eat the filling, except after several bites I realized it also tasted like cleaner. The whole meal was a waste of money. I usually don't leave bad reviews but this place was a total let down :( I will say everyone was super nice and the chips and salsa were good. But that's all I can give them. For one, the place is a little beat down but who cares if the food and service are good.... well. The service was sooo slow. Like so slow it took 20-25 minutes to get our check. And we were only offered water once... our margs were saturated with sweet and sour. Couldn't even taste tequila. And then the food :( this was the big let down) . It tasted so unseasoned. And normally Mexican restaurants pretty much deliver the same kind of food but I when I tell there was hardly any flavor in our dishes .... I mean it. But not our servers fault or the hostesses. Again they were really nice. But the drinks could've kept flowing and maybe would've help the dry atmosphere and slowwwww service. I'm sure we won't be back. My parents live a mile down the road and I have been visiting here since they moved to town 6 years ago. I give it a three star rating and not the one star it deserves from my last visit because I have gone and had great service before. The salsa is fantastic and the chips are always hot and fresh. However in the past year it has gone down hill and I am unsure why. Our waiter could barely speak english and was struggling with all the orders and tables he had. He forgot things and also seemed to forget about us. We sat for 15 long minutes staring at the remains of our food with him walking by multiple times and no attempt to clear our plates or ask if we wanted our empty drinks refilled. He finally arrived, and brought our check, leaving without any of our plates. It belonged to someone else. Now $17 for three entrees, a pitcher, guac, queso and pico would be a fantastic steal but we still let him know it was not our bill. He seemed very confused and then 10 minutes later reappeared (our table is still not cleared mind you) with another bill. This time for $29 and omitting all our sides and alcohol. We waited around for him and when it was clear he was not coming, paid and left. We are now looking for a new place to dine on mexican food and as there are a few new places in the area I do not see us returning to El Rodeo anytime soon. read more

We spent a good deal of our time here trying to flag down someone (anyone!) to help us find our waiter or get us our bill. Eventually I went to the host and told him we had been waiting 15 minutes for someone to clear our plates and bring a check. He didn't do anything or find our waiter so after a bit we just walked up to the cashier and said "Sorry, we have no bill but we want to leave" and he grabbed our waiter. I'd say come here if you're looking for some decent food and aren't too irritated by not having drinks refilled or anyone check up on you after they drop off the food.
