My husband and I went there on Sunday, October 5th, for an early dinner. We ordered a burrito, enchiladas, and a house margarita. Shortly after getting to the car, I started feeling nauseous, and once I got home, I became violently ill. My husband also experienced stomach issues. Tonight I have found my new fave dish...arroz con carne supremo...bacon, chorizo, steak, Spanish rice and cheese sauce come together in a fantastic flavorful combination!!! Beyond this dish...there are several other dishes that look like they are waiting to create a mouthwatering experience for all...meat lover, seafood lovers and veggie-only lovers! Ok...so enough about the food...what about the experience? The decor is bright and colorful, with wood carved murals on the seat and wall. The booths offer plenty of space for several people to be seated comfortably. Our waiter was attentive to our needs...only once did we have to request an additional drink ... otherwise, they had our chips and other drinks refilled continuously without prompting. Overall a pretty good authentic Mexican restaurant just a few small hiccups during our experience. The chips and salsa tasted fresh and the chips were hot, always a plus. It did take a while for our order to get taken which wasn't good especially since we were headed to a movie after. We both ordered the vegetarian combo: bean burrito, cheese enchilada and a bean tostada. All three were large and filling in size. Wish I would've known they charge almost $2 to drizzle queso on the entree, a bit of a rip off most charge 99cents or nothing. Overall our entrees tasted good and came out piping hot. Probably the biggest set back about the whole experience was the fact that they include a mandatory 20% gratuity. There was only 2 of us on a date. And they even put an "additional tip" line. The service overall was subpar so this was unsettling. I see why they don't care much about being fast and friendly bc they charge u gratuity regardless on your experience. As a lover of Mexican food, i was happy with the food here. Wasn't bland at all. Me and the fam came during lunch and had fast service. I really do love over the top decorations and designs when I come into Mexican restaurants and they had just that. My only disappointment was the queso. We ordered a large but it seemed more like a small. Kinda sad especially for the cost of it. This restaurant is open for New Year Day. This was my first takeout for 2021. I took the opportunity of ordering their Friday fajita lunch special of $7.99 (usually $8.99 M-F 11 AM - 3 PM). I ordered the steak instead of chicken fajita, minus many toppings, and a substitute. I wish they had complimentary chips and salsa with takeouts. I thought they did years ago before Covid. The atmosphere of Los Cabos is great! It's an explosion of vibrant and fun colors as soon as you walk in. Every inch of the restaurant is covered with authentic painted and sculpted scenes....even down to the highchairs. My daughter loved sitting in the Peppa Pig chair and wanted to take it with her when it was time to leave. Portion size was amazing! I can never depend on my kids to actually eat their meals at restaurants so it was great that we could order a bowl of queso and let the kids go crazy. They sampled my plate as well and I still had a large enough portion to fill up on. I love dessert and we were not disappointed. I would go back again with friends. I'm not sure I would pick it on my own, it is not too different from your other types of Mexican restaurants like Hacienda, Chile Verde, and such. read more

Me and a friend decided to go for lunch. She had a Groupon and wanted to use it before it expired. I was not impressed at all. Our waiter was really nice, but the food was horrible. I did love the huge menu. There were so many options. I got the chicken enchiladas with ranchero sauce. The red sauce taste identical to marina sauce. It was horrible. I sent those back and asked for some chicken enchiladas with queso and was brought out chicken enchiladas with shredded cheese on the top. They had a 1.99 margarita special I wasn't expecting it to be strong but it was completely watered down with a horrible taste. The Texas margarita was perfect . Pros: Close to home, salsa is good, food comes out quick and is usually tasty, there is always a Groupon available ($20 or $40 options), we have never had to wait for a table, the interior is clean and bright. Cons: Sometimes the food comes out right on the first try (but a chicken burrito on my veggie combo was a first recently), the fajitas always give my husband the gurgs no matter what style he orders (he has stopped ordering them), and service can be hit or miss. I can say that we have not experienced any truly horrific food or service...so maybe that's a pro? Do you see the conflict here? I mean - there is a plethora of Mexican options around so more often than not, the 'close to home' pro above wins out. If anything, the bright AF interior will give your spirits a lift. I mean seriously -- who carved and painted allllll these chairs, murals, and tables? They are EVERYWHERE. Kudos to them! read more

2 star review still stands- the service was extremely subpar again and the food was below standard. Do not order the chicken tortilla soup. It is in no way chicken tortilla soup, but instead just mostly chicken broth, a full leg and thigh, zucchini, carrots and potatoes. It was very disappointing. I wanted to have visited restaurants with terrible service, but Los Cabos in particular were the worst experience I have ever had, not only for me but also for my family, who came to visit us from six hours of retreat to come and have this terrible experience with the service, the late attention and the people in charge acting as if nothing happened, the food was delivered an hour later the orders were delivered badly and cold, the dishes were cold. read more

Talk about luck. I'm of Mexican descent, love to cook and pretty much have turned my nose up at every Mexican restaurant. Then 3 day prior to a move to Arizona we stumbled on Los Cabos. The chicken was moist and stewed properly with the right amount of spices. So, I guess what is on the docket is a return trip to see family and then come here for more delightful food. The service was great and can only say that I'm sorry I found this place so late. This place is the real deal. read more

Thumbs go in the salsas often and there is no telling when their hands have been washed last. I had to continually flag down staff for more chips, refills, and then to add more to the order. I went here because I had a Groupon - it was a food deal, but if I was paying full price .. I would have been more disappointed. The server spent so much time at the bar - where we weren't sitting. I could see him, but couldn't get his attention. Food: I got the shrimp and steak. The steak was greasy and full of fat. The shrimp had no flavor, I tried adding salt, salsa, and mixing it into the other food, but it was hopeless. It looked fine, but I'm not sure if was cleaned well either. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to visit. The food is delicious and the portions are large. Service is friendly and they gave my sister in law a free dessert because it was her birthday. Look for a GroupOn because there always seems to be one. Great date place and eat in the bar. Get the King Donkey burrito. All my wife kept saying was, "OMG! That thing so huge I won't be able to get it all in my mouth!" We laughed for days! Kids? Go on Friday night for the magician. The chips & salsa came out pretty quickly, but it took a while for drinks to come. We did order the margaritas which were on special today. When they finally came out they were so watery and gross none of us finished them. The "large" queso was wayyyy too small to be almost $8. The food came out steaming hot but was really lacking flavor. My friend said the red sauce tasted like canned pizza sauce. Our food came up to $63 which is absolutely ridiculous for two adults at a Mexican restaurant, especially with the quality of food that was served. Before the pandemic and remodel/new ownership, we were less than impressed with this restaurant. But after the renovations, it completely changed! The bartender ALWAYS has a delicious drink to make (and the margaritas are FABULOUS). I highly recommend pineapple fajitas as it's served IN a pineapple. I've been here on multiple occasions when in Indianapolis for business and have never been disappointed. Their portions are BIG which is good because I personally love eating Mexican cuisine leftovers. Each time we have been seated instantly and the service is fast and good. The food is excellent. I got a combo plate with chicken dishes, my day got the salmon and both were very tasty. The decor is bright and festive different scenes of Spanish culture. The drinks are very reasonably priced. They have a special for January where you can get a patron margarita for $4.50. There also appears to be a magician that is going around from table to table. At least I hope that's what he is otherwise it's some old creep disturbing all the customers. Plenty of parking as it is in a strip mall. Easy to miss so look behind the Starbucks and Qdoba between Castleton and the highway. The staff was pleasant and attentive. By far one of the best mexican/american restaurants around. The salsa has a bite to it which is awesome. They offer a vateity of dishes that are both traditional mexican fare as well as the American versions we all know and love so much. Their unico burrito incorporates steak and bacon covered in cheese sauce....really how can you go wrong with that?? The service is always amazing and fast. The house sangria was not overly sweet it almost has a tequila taste to it, regardless its delish. Definitely a little gem hidden at the edge of castelton worth exploring. read more
