Salsa tasted bad and I couldn't eat it. My torta didn't come with French fries. All other restaurants offer French fries when you order a torta. $16 for enchiladas seems a little excessive for me. Last week we stopped in for a quick dinner, and within seconds of walking through the door our server greeted us like we were old friends. They told us, "Get the tacos," with the confidence of someone who knows they're right. They were. One bite in and I was thinking, Okay... this is dangerously good. Tasty! I only stopped in for a snack, so I grabbed a few tacos to go - two pollo and one carnitas. The pollo tacos were my favorite. They didn't skimp on the protein, so that's always a plus! This is the best Mexican restaurant. The consistency is top notch. Reminds me of the food we have had in Puerto Vallarta, MX. Authentic taste and quality. We dine in a lot, but even all of our takeout orders have been perfect. The chicken tacos are to die for. They chicken is juicy, while crispy at the same time with a limey taste. The salsa here is so flavorful. Today we tried the guacamole and it wasn't mashed, but more chopped up like ceviche and it was delicious. Plenty of seating and I love that they decorate for holidays with string lights and things. The staff delivers great service every time, super attentive, refills, lots of fresh warm chips. And if you drink soda the coke is SO good every time. This is a treat for me but I have to have one here. Today I had the fajita burrito and it was outstanding. I really enjoyed dining in here. The employees were all very friendly and we were seated and served very quickly. It was also clean and decorated for the holiday season. There's a lot of variety on that menu and a few vegetarian options (and could probably easily be made vegan). I tried the vegetarian tacos which includes 3 tacos as well as rice, beans, and pico de gallo. I really enjoyed the cactus in the veggie mixture. Everything was well seasoned and fresh, maybe a little greasy/oily but overall delicious. The portions were very generous - too much even as I couldn't finish everything! It would be nice to have the option to order individual vegetarian tacos from the street taco menu. I also ordered a skinny margarita with a sugar rim. Every time I order I get blown away with the hospitality, warm chips and salsa along with my fabulous brunch entree I just love the food, the service and high quality authentic food! The owner Ignacio is always greeting and being so welcoming along with the entire staff! They cater and can do large event planning for your next event. You know it's pretty authentic when they have delicious tongue tacos. The meat was flavorful. Salsa came with fresh onions and was not too spicy. A red and green salsa also came with tacos. We have visited this establishment several times over the last year. Their chile rellenos are top notch. Super hot, bubbly, nice thin batter so the poblano is flavorful and not lost. Lengua is also amazing here. Don't skip out on that. The salsa needs a little bit of hot sauce for my liking but there are literally 5-6 different bottles at every table. My fiance first had Tapatio here and now it is a staple at home! Service is super fast. You can walk in and sit wherever you'd like, there are super long pothos plants along the walls which are really nice to look at. Dining area and the restrooms are clean! read more

The menu offers traditional Mexican with daily meal and drink specials. I ordered tacos because I was trying to eat light. I had choice of meat, shell and fillings. The corn tacos were good with lots of beef, cheese and lettuce. My husband had the Beef Burrito #2 lunch. He loved the burrito and raved about the creamy beans. He said it was a 5 star lunch and he doesn't give out 5 stars easily. Regulars seated near us, ordered beautiful places of food. Next time, I will be more adventurous. My husband and I live in the vicinity and decided to give it a try based on other reviews. I really want to support local establishments and I hope they do well. However, out experience wasn't consistent with other reviews. The salsa lacked flavor and the chips did not seem fresh. We went for lighter fare. The BBQ nachos were good but needed more toppings than jalapenos. The flautas were overcooked and somewhat dry in the inside and bland. They were improved by the jalapenos from the nachos! On a positive note, the raspberry margarita was delicious! I'd go back for that alone. The staff were stellar - friendly, attentive, and seemed to enjoy taking care of customers. Our starter was 7 or 8 Jalapeño Poppers - not too spicy and perfectly fried served with an interesting mild salsa/cheese sauce and lettuce & tomato salad garnish. Upon entering, I was seated in a comfortable booth, and the first thing I noticed was the pleasant and surprising absence of the typical taqueria blaring music/TV broadcast. My drink order was taken quickly, and I was presented with a basket of chips and a bowl of tasty homemade salsa. Learned of this place via Fox59 and tried it out on a Sunday afternoon with my wife and son. It's in the middle of a strip mall on the northside of 96th street between the Allisonville and 69 exchanges. When you enter the front door, you're immediately in the dining area which is a singular storefront's width that includes booths for parties of 4 along the side walls and table and chair combos along the middle. The worker behind the register at the other end of the dining room indicated we could sit anywhere, so we chose a booth down the far left side, which wasn't overly wide, but sufficient for our group of 3. Menus, a bowl of chips and a larger-than-expected bowl of chunky salsa were quickly brought to our table with a friendly greeting. About a minute later, our drink order was promptly taken. The menu is extensive and includes food and drink specials for each day of the week. My wife's standby is Huevos Rancheros (9.49), for which she always orders her eggs well-done/hard. They were prepared properly (which seems like a 50/50 success rate in our general dining ventures) and she said they included 3 eggs and were good. My son ordered one of the Sunday specials, Molcajete (normally 25.99, but 22.09 on Sunday). It was served in a large bowl that looked like one they typically use for preparing guacamole table-side and was stuffed over the top with what seemed to be half of Noah's ark. He said it was good, stuffed himself, and probably brought between half and 2/3s of it back home. I selected Plato Loco (16.99), primarily because it was a combo that included a chile poblano. To be honest, the chile was just OK and not one of the better ones that I have had. The half dozen decent sized grilled shrimp they served on it were pretty solid though and the side of rice was fine. The star of the show was the steak quesadilla that was part of the combo. It was RIDICULOUSLY good. After my 1st bite, I offered a bite to my son who agreed it was the best thing he ate, and that was after tasting half of Lorne Greene's wild kingdom. We live in Westfield, so we have to brave a buttload of traffic to get here as it's not that close to us. However if we're in the area again, I would not hesitate to return and order the steak quesadillas in particular. In fact, it's probably best they aren't that close to us because I'm pretty sure there's no way something that tastes that good is at all a positive on the health score charts. read more

It's not just a Taqueria, it's a full menu restaurant. Everything is housed made and fresh. Every other customer was Hispanic so I knew it would be good. I ordered one of the lunch specials, a taco and chili rellanos. One crunchy taco and one poblano with beans, rice and chips and salsa. The salsa was far above average and everything else was great.
