Arrived at the restaurant at 2:00. We were immediately seated and placed our order. It was a little slower than normal, but we very much enjoyed the chips and salsa while we waited. The food arrived very warm and just as we ordered. We all had lunch specials and were being stuffed even with take home boxes. The service could have been better. They weren't too busy but refills were 't provided. A spare napkin would have been nice, but our server was MIA. Improve integrity!!! I was not only over charged, but the tip was extremely generous, without my doing! The waiter knew he did that to me because when I called there was no argument. Then I went in, and the waiter gave it to me out of his own wallet. If you go here, check your bill, the cost of your food and drinks, and especially how much is tipped because they will tip their selves. As far as the food, the waiter even said it was not authentic, so for an overcharge, overtipped, non authentic food. You do the math... literally do the math!! read more

If I could do 4.5 stars, I would. But 5 stars this place does not deserve. Had the steak and cheese buritto...possibly the best buritto I ever had, though it needed more pico, which they brought. Also had an ultimate margarita and chips /salsa. Both were good, but not great. Margarita needed more booze, less sour. Chips were spot on, but salsa lacked flavor and heat. Doctored it up with some salt, hot sauce, and some extra picco to turn it into a fabulous dish. It should come that way from the kitchen. Service was very fast and friendly. Would come back again in a heartbeat, though I may sit at the bar and teach them how to make a 5 star Margarita. read more

This place is pretty much what you'd expect: totally okay food at a reasonable price. The service could've been better. Even though my son said he wasn't ready to order yet and we were still waiting for one more person, the server was in a rush to take our orders and asked what I wanted. I said (again) that we needed a few more minutes, but instead of leaving and coming back a few minutes later, he moved on to taking the next person's order. He ended up taking half the table's orders to the kitchen before our side of the table was ready to order. So of course, their food all came out first, and they were halfway done eating by the time the rest of our food came. The food, very much like the service, could've been better, but overall it was fine. The molcajete was fantastic! But the guacamole was bland (It was badly lacking in salt, cilantro, cumin, and lime and was completely mashed to death.), and the Ultimate Margarita was weak and watery. I ended up here randomly while waiting for my daughter at Urban Air and I wish I hadn't. I honestly feel like I wasted $30 and really really wished I had went elsewhere. I came to El Rode all the time years ago but the one near me is closed......Anyways I came here making it use to be one of my favs and figured it would be a safe bet. I ordered the shrimp and enchilada and it came out exactly as the description said it would. The only problem is it lacked taste and flavor. I felt like I was eating a glob of cheese, drowned in oil topped with shrimp, onions and mushrooms. The rice had so many vegetables in it I know they added a can of mixed vegetables to the rice and for me it was a turn off. I will say the staff was very friendly even though our particular waiter was always hard to find. Haven't been here in a long time. They've redone the booths which makes the place light and clean. The one thing I used to love about this place is they are so fast. I got the burritos Roqueta which were delicious, I love getting this meal because I always have lunch for the next day. My husband got a dinner combo with burrito, taco and beans and rice. 1 star. I've never met a chimichanga that I didn't like... until today! The customer service was really lacking too, but that's not even the reason for the 1 star! I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by the chips n salsa. If the ships b salsa are delish, then my meal will follow suit. Well, the chips n salsa were not stellar. So, I should have known not to go any further. But oh no.....I went ahead and ordered, anyway. The food lacked flavor! All of the food! The chicken was dry and bland. The queso was just a wet white substance, zero cheese flavor. The rice was dry and flavorless. The salsa was watery and had no chunks of anything - it literally tasted like tomato juice. Yuck! I came here on a Friday night and was surprised by how busy it was! We were sat pretty immediately & got frozen margaritas. Holy moly they were big and delicious!! I absolutely recommend the strawberry one. The best part of a Mexican restaurant is 100% the chips and salsa. They were fantastic. This restaurant is located in a strip mall so parking is easy to find. I've heard that Noblesville location is better than the Fishers location and after trying out both places, I agree on that. We have been LONG term patrons of this restaurant. We have participated in ordering both lunch, and dinner and have ordered multiple items off of the menu. Always the service staff have been hospitable and provided great personal service. Juan and the team of both servers and bussers do an outstanding job. In the 4 years which we have been visiting the restaurant the food has taken a slow steady decline to now it has become a joke. What originally attracted us to El Rodeo was it's authentic regional Mexican flavors and presentations. Having spent 20 years working in California and dining on the regional specialities we thought we had found a great restaurant. We were even more impressed when the restaurant undertook a renovation project in the past year. They created a restaurant with a lighter color palette, updated booths and a more current ambiance. As the restaurants image improved the the food product continued to slide. Last evening was the final straw. When reading the menu descriptions and looking at what was served we have made the decision not to return to a restaurant which earned about $85.00 per week from us time 52 weeks a year. My wife order the number #4 a beef taco, beef tostada and a beef enchilada. She received essentially the same item featuring ground beef and tacos 3 ways. No shredded cheese topping, or diced tomatoes, pico de gallo, no rice or beans. We're offered. No chopped cilantro. Why go out to eat this bland food we could have been prepared at home while watching the game. The beef filling which used to be flavorful with cumin and oregano was just basic ground beef with a few spices. My cheese quesadillas had no shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes or pico de gallo, just tortillas and melted cheese for $7.00. When we asked to speak to the manager he was not available. I requested the owners name, allegedly they were not able to contact him, no phone number or email address. When asking the waiter the manager cook in the back of the house had unilaterally made these cost reduction decisions. In my view; short term you will reduce cost and save money, long term the remodeled dining room will be empty of customers as their customer base will find a Mexican food restaurant that serves food that meets the customers basic expectations. If I could rate the restaurant with no stars I would. We would not serve this food to our dogs. The serving sizes are de minimus. This is THE Mexican spot. I've been to many Mexican restaurants in different cities and states, and this one has always been my favorite. The salsa is the best. Great flavor. Seems like it's been the same recipe for years, and I'm glad it hasn't changed. Great with the chips and good to mix in with the rice. Favorite dishes are the burrito loco, shrimp enchiladas, enchiladas super rancheras, and fajitas. We've never really had anything bad to be honest. Lastly, the staff is awesome. I've seen many of the same faces over the years, and they just nail the service side of things. Before Covid, we were in here to eat a lot. Recently we ordered a carry out. We purchased several dinners and therefore requested more salsa to go with each. The person was very irritated with this request and told us we would have to pay extra. This was confusing because usually it's per dinner NOT per order. The tiny salsa provided was hard to share among several meals. Plus the portions provided for each meal were stingy. The beef was stringy and hard to chew. One piece, in fact was impossible to cut due to the grissle and was just thrown out which was irritating since there was so little there to begin with. We will not be returning. I have nothing good to say about our dining experience except that we did t have to wait for a table...probably because it's so awful nobody returns! Staff was rude! Took forever to be acknowledged and get our drinks. Thank goodness we weren't took thirsty because they never offered to refill our empty drinks. I ordered #15 and said burrito and enchilada and I would like white sauce instead of red sauce on the burrito. I was given a burrito and taco and he rudely told me I ordered #13 and actually argued with me over it. The chips they brought to the table were the end of a bag...basket was full of chip crumbs. Never brought more chips or salsa, we had 2 adults and 2 kids. 1 small cup of salsa and I broken up basket of chips was not enough. When we received the bill it seemed high. The special board indicated $2 off kids meals and $1 off combo meals...so we should have had $6 off total. The rude cashier said oh he only took $1 off, fixed it although it was still incorrect. He had charged for the 2 kids drinks $2.39 each when they are included with their meal. She then argued with me over who had the soft drink and told me my son was too old. I pointed out my older son was indeed 16 and he drank water, however my younger 2 kids were under 12 and had kids meals. After getting the bill somewhat close I paid and left. My son was up all night sick we believe he has food poisoning. There are lots of Mexican restaurants to choose from this one I would stay FAR away from!!!
