My family and I love El Rosal. Everything that is made here is excellent. My brother and I usually eat here at least a few times a month. We love their combination plate of enchilada, relleno, taco and tostado. I am a big fan of their chicken enchilada and relleno with green sauce. Their green sauce is the best around! I also really like all of their soups, including the beef, chicken or posole. I doubt you could find a better posole any where. In this posole are big chunks of lean pork and hominy in a delicious broth. It is served with radish, onion and cabbage chunks. I usually take some of it home for leftovers as I can't eat it all. My brother really likes the Chinos special which is a cheese relleno on top of a quesadilla with a red sauce. The beans and rice are very good here as well. The nachos ala Mexicano are a great starter. We often finish our meal with the flan dessert. Another favorite dessert is the fried ice cream which is served in a sugared tortilla bowl and topped with some chocolate and caramel sauces, whipped cream and a cherry, yum! The waitresses are pleasant and the food comes pretty fast. The only drawback here is that the booths are old and therefore the seating can be a little lumpy. But it does not detract from such great eats! read more

We called in an order and were told that it would take 10 to 15 minutes. We showed up 20 minutes later and then were told that they hadn't even started our order because they hadn't started our order yet because the seven people that were in the restaurant were too many for the six staff members to handle and it would take an extra 15 minutes. After waiting for 40 additional minutes, we were told that we still had to wait at which time my wife asked for a drink because we had been waiting more than an hour by this point. She ordered a Coke but they brought her a Sprite and tried to charge her, at which time she tried to send it back because we hadn't been offered food nor drinks in the hour-plus we had been waiting. They finally insisted on us taking the drink for free and our cold food finally arrived 75 minutes after we ordered. Never again. read more

Yesterday I took my office out to lunch due to it been very cold and we all carved albondiga caldo. It was horrible. It literally tasted like they just boiled the meatballs in water and served it just like that. No seasonings whatsoever. It looked like dirty water, the soup was literally clear. The cook could not have tasted it after it was made. I'm by far a professional cook but I do know to taste my food before I serve it. I was really disappointed and embarrassed since I was the one who initiated the whole "lets go to lunch, my treat". I really liked it here especially since its close to our job. Know it looks like we have to drive further for lunch. I hope owner steps up and implements some type of quality control, I'd hate to see them have to close doors since there is other Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

My family and I frequent this place since it opened back in 1991. It says alot about a place if it's been open that long, I say! Great, freshly-made chips and salsa. You have to try the cabbage too!!
