I don't understand how inconsistent a place can be. We ate here 2 days ago & it was so delicious. My wife had the Taco salad & said it's the best she's ever had. Salad was full of ingredients & the chicken was seasoned so well. Asked questions and confirmed orders which I loved! They came up and checked on us a few times only con is that when we were done it took them a very long time to gather the check, collect our card, and return our card. Thank God they were open! We came to this restaurant after volunteering and it was one of the very few places open on Thanksgiving day. We were sat right away and the waitress was very kind! The inside was like most other Mexican restaurants as far as decor, nothing special that stood out but it was nice and comfortable. I don't know if I was just hungry but their chips and salsa was hitting the spot while we waited for our food. Our orders were taken quick, probably because they were closing in less than an hour. And our food took a little bit but I believe it was because it was a holiday and they were gunna close soon. I've had Molcajete from some other places and I will say their salsa is very tasty in theirs, I enjoyed it. My kids enjoyed their burrito and nachos, but my wife wasn't really feeling her Pollo con Crema. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere was inviting, cozy, and well-organized, making me feel right at home. The service and staff were outstanding--Jordan was amazing, very attentive to our needs and ensured our chips and dip were never empty. I got to go food for a Dr office! Food was hot and ready when I went to pick it up. The girls working here were really friendly and even offered to help me to the car. I forgot to order something initially i so had to go back, and together we figured out what type of tortillas I needed to still get, based off what I had just picked up! I thought I reviewed La Morenita before, but I guess not. My friend and I came here for dinner. Once we sat down, a basket of chips with the regular red and cabbage salsa were placed in front of us. The chips were hot and fresh and the salsa was pretty good. I ordered the three pork enchiladas plate. You don't rice and beans compared with the two enchiladas plate, but you do get a guacamole garnish. I wished the blob of guacamole I received was larger, but it was tasty. The enchiladas were outstanding, the best I've had in a while. Service was friendly. The only confusing thing was Yelp said they closed at 10 pm, but they turned off the lights in the kitchen a little after 8 pm. Always a great meal at La Morenita. We Californians take our great Mexican food for granted. We are so lucky to have so many authentic Mexican restaurants, not to mention the thousands of taco trucks. Other parts of the country have no clue what good Mexican food is. La Morenita is up there with the many great ones in the Central Valley. Chips, Salsa, and cabbage were good during my lunch visit. Salsa has led flavor than some of my other favorite Mexican restaurants, but still good. The cabbage wasn't as crisp as some, but the added carrots made up for it. Chips were fresh. I got a chicken tostada lunch. Just the right amount of rice and beans as sides. I always pour salsa on top of my rice. I wish La Morenita salsa had more punch - flavor wise. Server was fantastic. I didn't catch his name but he's probably been there forever. The place can stand an upgraded decor. They are always busy and should be able to afford it. Spruce it up! They should also put in a bar that solo guys like me could sit at, or do those wanting a cerveza or tequila shot. read more

Don't be fooled by the old sign outside. The food is fresh, flavorful and delicious!!! We were driving through town and we're craving one of their awesome burritos. Found their number on Yelp and called in a ToGo order. They sounded busy on the other end, but took our order and said it would be at least 15 minutes before it was ready. No worries...we were fifteen minutes away. What did we order??? The chicken burrito supreme with green sauce is the best in the land!!! Well we'll well I have to say after avoiding this place for 18 years for mediocre food. I decided to give it a chance because my GF wanted to go and to my surprise the food was incredible. Something changed I don't know if it was the recipes or the cooks. Anyway I've been here 2 times and both times was great. I will be returning as long as it is consistent, flavorful, clean and friendly. I love that there are so many options of entrees. Just please make sure to put enough rice and beans on entrees. Presentation looks great as well. Oh the one thing I will say is they need to make sure the food comes out really quick and really hot so a couple or family can enjoy it together and eat the food hot not above warm. Service was amazing I have to say that the guys were really nice. We ordered to go. I ordered the dinner with two Chile verde burritos... I was SO disappointed. I'm usually not too picky with food but the portion was way off. First off I'm used to Chile verde being juicy chunks of pork, there was hardly any filling Inside the burritos it was little shreds and the sauce is almost kind of sweet. both burritos were cold. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp burrito it came wet burrito style but since we are driving from out of town and wanted to eat while driving he had asked for the sauce to be on the inside.... So instead he got no sauce but there was still sour cream and shrimp all over the burrito... I left a really nice tip for them, too, even though we didn't dine in. For my meal and my boyfriends burrito it was $35 then I left a $10 tip so $45 for food that was practically inedible. I have to wait to go home and put it in the microwave hopefully I'll be able to eat. Came here with my brother. We were hoping for some menudo but as it is in so many Mexican restaurants they only serve it on certain days. I ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo. Lately, this is the dish I love to order at Mexican restaurants. Basically, it is shrimp in a strong garlic sauce. The shrimp were really delicious as were the rice and beans. I noticed that they have a dish named after Aguililla which happens to be the town where my mother was born in Michoacan, Mexico. My brother said he had heard this place was Michoacan style. Whenever, I run into paisanos I love to represent here on Yelp. Thankfully, the food was good so my review is legit. I have however, been to places that put Michoacan's name to shame. Our server was really nice and she did a great job. The place started getting packed as we were leaving. Parking is no problem at sometimes of the day. This place more than makes up for my earlier experience at Meme Tequila Cocina. The decor is tile and Mexican murals, Talavera pottery, and ceiling fans. Very tradicional. The service is very professional and prompt. We ordered nachos with chicken, got nachos carne asada, pointed it out and got an immediate apology, comp on the beef, and a corrected order.
