Stopped in at one of my favorite Latin bakeries. The bakery is small, but the staff are great. I was craving a steak, egg, and cheese sandwich. McDonald's has nothing on their breakfast sandwich. El Sabor offers a flavorful sandwich on a fresher baked roll. Steak and egg are well seasoned. Egg is pan-fried. They offer other sandwiches, but the steak, egg, and cheese is my favorite. It's definitely worth checking out.

I really do hate giving bad reviews especially to my Latino community but I really would of hoped that the food we got would of been good but it wasn't. My husband ordered corn tamales and they were not good, didn't even taste like corn and super pale looking. The tamales were suppose to come with crema and my husband told me that they were giving him a free one but its usually .75 cent, doesn't make sense why they would want to charge when its suppose to come with one. Anyways now my sandwich which was just eggs and refried beans which was suppose to come with cheese and crema, did not. They completely didn't give me no cheese or cream. Just disappointing. I added a picture of my sandwich, so sad!

This was not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice for me one Sunday morning but because of renovation and ridiculously long lines at nearby places I came across El Sabor. It will be one of my first choices moving forward. I had a Pan Con Todo breakfast sandwich. It came on bread that was light and tasty yet still strong enough to keep the sandwich together. The chorizo was good and not too spicy. The service was excellent and the wait was reasonable. The man after me had a lot of questions about the menu that I'm not sure were accurately answered but trust the menu and enjoy.

This place reliably produces great food. I recommend the empanadas, tamales, breakfast and cakes. Recently I ordered a birthday cake for my girlfriend. It exceed expectations in size and taste. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. It is a fantastic part of the neighborhood.

Teddy would rave about the tres leches cake if he had the verbal skills to rave. He gives it his highest rating: a 10 M "Mmmmmmmmmm."

My students really liked the Tres Leche cake. The bakery was also nice enough to cut it in 25 even pieces .

Very yummy Latin bakery with traditional baked goods and desserts like flan. Parking limited but usually sufficient.

From the…read morestart, it looks like Caramelo is a the place to be since there were a lot of people were picking up their orders. I think there were about 12 people in line ahead of us. Although it was the place to be, I did notice that ordering and pick up was a bit unorganized. I think it would have been more efficient if one person was ringing up the orders, and the other two people were collecting the orders. I mentioned that because when it was our turn to order, we received two significantly different prices for the cake that we were interested in. Of course, the cake ended up being the higher of the two prices. For our order we went with the tres leches cake. It was kind of interesting because I've never seen (or made) tres leches in a cake form; I've only seen it served in a pan so the excess milk would not leak out of the cake. That said, the cake was AMAZING. It was so amazing that one of party guest who isn't a fan of cakes/desserts went back for seconds. I definitely look forward to trying more items from this bakery. Interestingly enough, I really want to try the bakery's roll. I said this because most of the folks picking up orders were picking up trash bags full of these rolls.

When it came out 45 minutes later, it was an unseasoned egg with unmelted cheese on a stale bread roll. I also ordered an iced dirty chai that was almost entirely milk and with a slight taste of burnt coffee and no chai flavor at all. The cinnamon danish was fine but still pretty stale. Overall, it took way longer than it should for the most mediocre and expensive food I've ever had.

Petite sized little bakery in Wheaton Triangle…read more This is one of the small little shops on the perimeter of the brand new large office building that goes up where the large parking lot used to be. There's a handful of tables when you walk in, more seating then you'd probably think for a bakery of this size. The walls are lined with refrigerators and pastry cases. Some of the selection is self-service and then some sit in glass boxes that are more attuned to Jewelry cases. I went up to the front and saw a number of hand scrawled signed taped on the front refrigerators. The prices are insanely low. Tamales for $1.50 a piece are definitely worth your attention. The chicken sandwich that I tried for $3.00 was oddly out of this world. When it was set down on the table in front of me... I was like... "OK... this looks pretty basic." But then I tried it... and I was like... what the HELLO has been done to this chicken. As I commented to a friend: " I have no idea what they did to that chicken, but I'm pretty sure it involves wizards or MSG." It was freakin' good! I also ended up getting the Budin (I think this was $1.75) which is like this super soft raisin pudding cake thing with caramelized sugar on top. Man... that was good. The ONE thing I got and didn't love was the "pan con frijoles, queso, crema." There is a possibility that this is true cause I didn't eat it while it was hot. There is also a possibility that this is true cause the cashier/cook forgot the cheese and then gave it to me on a little plate later, and it didn't melt into anything. But for me it just was too gloopy... if you know what I mean. The bread it was served on was good... but the texture and saltiness was a little much. Overall, I will totally be back. Value for quality was fantastic. Also... just FYI. It would be VERY helpful to know a bit of Spanish when you do go. There was definitely a bit of a communication barrier with English.
