Casual eatery located on a quiet side street. Parking was difficult; we couldn't find any public spots, so we parked in the restaurant's rear lot, which was designated for other businesses. The operation seemed to be run by two men. 3*The hummus was disappointing--it was simply taken from a packaged container meant for takeout and served as-is in plastic. When asked if we wanted pita bread, we were surprised since hummus typically comes with pita, but here they were charged separately. The hummus contained only olives, chickpeas, and olive oil, with no tahini. 3*The 7-hour lamb sliders featured roasted leg of lamb marinated in Greek spices, topped with goat cheese, roasted red peppers, and tzatziki on mini potato buns, offering an authentic meat flavor. 3*The fresh grilled asparagus was standard and unremarkable. 3*The 7-hour lamb wrap included roasted leg of lamb marinated in Greek spices, wrapped in pita with lettuce, feta cheese, tomato, dill, and tzatziki. It was rather plain, with the meat's original flavor dominating but lacking depth.

Food was extremely delicious, service was awesome, owner was incredibly kind and clearly passionate about serving and cooking food for people. It doesn't appear like much from the outside, but whether you're spending a day in Kensington or a local this place is a real a treat!

    Lamb Entree

Tonight I had the Lamb Entree and decided to write a review (photo attached). Talia's is 1-2 miles from our house and it's become our "go to" place. Lots of healthy choices. I've had the Chicken Caprese, Chopped Salad, Brisket Sandwich, Lamb Wrap and Lamb Sliders. Fresh, expertly prepared...nice portions. The dining area is small & minimalist...it's all about the food. Oh yeah, the soup is also excellent...don't see it on the menu.

Cannot wait to try the poutine!

OMG the food is SO GOOD! My mom and I stopped in a few weekends ago. I've been hearing rave reviews about this place for more than a year from my neighbors, but never quite made it there...which I now regret! We had the lamb wrap and the chicken caprese salad, and also got the poutine fries. The lamp was quite simply...amazing. It was so, so good!! The salad was also amazing - funnily enough, we got on the recommendation of a work friend who just happened to be there at the same time as us. The poutine fries were super tasty but salty - k feel like they would be great "after drinking" fare, although I don't tend to do a lot of bar hopping in Kensington. ;) Anyways, definitely coming back and bringing the whole family!

    Montreal Style Poutine

This place was a hidden gem! I found it on the MoCo Show's list of best restaurants in the county and decided to check it out. I ordered at the counter and found a seat. My food was quickly brought to me and man it was delicious! I ordered the lamb bowl and the poutine. This being a mediterranean restaurant I should have stuck with the bowl. It was huge! The lamb was extremely flavorful. I would order this again for sure. The Poutine was not as good. It was made with shredded cheese instead of cheese curds but oh well. As I said, their speciality is Mediterranean so I won't hold it against them. Once I was finished they asked me how everything was and seemed genuinely thrilled that I enjoyed my food. I know I'll be back.

Psari (though nothing to be "psari" about!): Blackened Salmon over field greens, tomato, red onion. Dijon Lime. Pita. Chips.

P.S. There IS limited simple seating, but it's comfortable and pleasantly decorated. (Someone said it is take out only, and this is not true. There are, I think, 2 tables that seat 4; and 2 tables for 2. Inside. There is also a clean restroom.) The Psari Sandwich was my favorite, but then I had the steak sandwich. So juicy, and toothsome. Real steak meat. So tasty. It is delicious!!!

As we step into Talia's, Clara smells the food being cooked it smelled like roast beef . Lily hears food sizzling on the stove cheerfully music playing on the speaker, the zooming of the cars on the street out front. Lily then sees the chefs cooking‍ in the open kitchen. When the food is served we eat family style. Lily tastes the yummy salad with vinegar and sweet strawberries definitely recommend this dish. Clara tastes the chicken flat bread it is so good I definitely recommend it Lily also likes the spanakopita it has a delicious flaky top with a scrumptious spinach and cheese inside. Dad loves the pesto portabella sandwich, one of the best vegetarian sandwiches he has ever eaten! Finally a sweet dessert. Clara loves the Baklava and Lilly licks the sticky sweet honey off here fingers. We will be back!

Is there seating at this restaurant? Or is it more takeout style?

There are about 3-4 tables inside and one outside, but they're currently expanding to add much more seating!

This place has so many little tidbits for living the good life, they could rename it 'Good Life…read moreStation' or 'Good Life Company' -- for the company you will keep, and how this company keeps you ... fed, nourished, and I might even say acknowledged! I found the staff to be impressively knowledgeable and encouraging. I got a small bottle of a beautiful, snowy sake in a frosted blue bottle, an Italian spritzer-type thing, a boxed Merlot -- never tried such a thing before! -- and a sour cherry lambic-like drink, plus smoked Gruyere for later pizza-making, lavender-herb easily spreadable goats' milk cheese, and a selection of olives, feta, pickled red and green peppers and lemon in one handy-dandy small and portable, easy-to-use box! I really lived it up with these items out on the porch at home later .... I greatly enjoyed my meal of Beet and Grilled Apricot salad with creamy cilantro dressing (substitute for vinaigrette), and candied pecans -- all so very mmm! I love beets and must get almost any beet salad that may potentially come my way -- and here, I had two to choose from! The one I got was a special so not always available. The peaches in it were hard enough that they didn't mush-n-gush all over. They were easy to pick up with a fork and bite without them splashing or sliding all oozy-goozy- all over the place, and they had the nice dark marks of grilling right on them, visibly, for proof of having been grilled! That was fun to see. My dining partner had the fish tacos and apparently, those were very good. The table service was really nice, friendly, professional, skilled, and knowledgeable. I wouldn't say the food was exactly prepared swiftly but I also wasn't paying attention so I'm not sure -- because I was too busy browsing and purchasing items in the adjoining store to notice when the food even arrived. I wasn't there, but buying my deliciousness-to-go! What a wonderful time-saver! It was not too loud when I was there, the sunlight was streaming in the rather large windows, and I had a great time looking at the nice lighting fixtures, perusing goods, speaking with staff, and of course eating my most delicious salad! All-around highly recommended on all fronts -- or at least all the ones I tried -- comprising both the dining and shopping experiences ....

It helped that it was Greek-owned and run. The Greek food on the menu was always a tasty reminder of my ancestry. Fast forward to today - I have not been to Continental Pizza in over 30 years! But I think of it fondly sometimes and I talk about it with some friends who also ate there back in the day. Well, yesterday I was in the area and I decided to go back to my little slice of heaven. I am so happy to report that it has not changed much!!! The food is still filling and delicious. We had sausage pizza and it was GREAT!!! Like the old days, it is shaped like a rectangle (for some reason, I love that)! The sausage was excellent! My spouse and I gobbled it up! This place is a classic! The servings are generous and come to you hot and ready to gobble down! The only frills in this place??? Good simple food, prepared beautifully! The service was so nice too. Everyone at the counter was really friendly. The customer service is another throwback to the old days. They were there to make sure we got what we wanted and to make our experience a good one. Is Continental Pizza fancy? Oh no and thank God! It is the kind of place to go when you want something to fill you up and you do NOT want to wonder if it will be tasty (because it will be)!!!! This is what we like to call a "casual joint" and it delivers every time! Continental Pizza deserves to still be open, still be busy and still be around. They know their lane and they fulfill it very very well!!! I highly recommend you head to the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Knowles and get yourself some great comfort food at Continental Pizza!!!! I highly recommend this old gem of a place!

Really solid four stars and a strong recomend fora cozy, relaxed and casual dinner with your partner, freinds, yourself or family. The only note is parking in their lot is nigh impossible some times, so your best bet is to find street parking nearby and drop anyone who can't walk all that far. If you don't drink they seem to have a limited NA beer selection, and I didn't see any mocktails. We really liked our beet salad and our Ceasar salad, which came out os fast, I wonder if they already had them prepped. I really liked my fish and chips as it was a nice portion and wasn't heavy on the frying at all. It was very well done and the tartar sauce was great. My wife got the (I think it was a special) Tuna poke for her main, which she said was really tasty. But, it also looked like a small portion in one of those weird plates that only had a modest divut in the middle for food. Nonetheless, she liked it a lot. I also really enjoyed the grilled Faroe salmon with the butternut squash purée--it was cooked perfectly. The steak frites with the red wine mushroom reduction glaze was another favorite and definitely worth ordering. For drinks, I tried the Cherry Blossom "Another Trip Around the Sun" (a seasonal cocktail available through April 12th), along with the brown sugar old-fashioned and the lavender French 75. All three were well-made and complemented the meal nicely. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're looking for a cozy atmosphere, good food, and quality cocktails.
