Decided with my cousin recommended we order take out from Talia's Cuzina, a Mediterranean grill. (Note - It does have tables, but it's not not fancy.) He chose his favorite, their Lamb Sliders, which looked great, but I didn't get a chance to try. I selected "The Brisket," a smoked brisket Kaiser Roll sandwich with fresh cabbage, horseradish aioli, and fries. Flavorful! Delicious! Casual eatery located on a quiet side street. Parking was difficult; we couldn't find any public spots, so we parked in the restaurant's rear lot, which was designated for other businesses. The operation seemed to be run by two men. 3*The hummus was disappointing--it was simply taken from a packaged container meant for takeout and served as-is in plastic. When asked if we wanted pita bread, we were surprised since hummus typically comes with pita, but here they were charged separately. The hummus contained only olives, chickpeas, and olive oil, with no tahini. 3*The 7-hour lamb sliders featured roasted leg of lamb marinated in Greek spices, topped with goat cheese, roasted red peppers, and tzatziki on mini potato buns, offering an authentic meat flavor. 3*The fresh grilled asparagus was standard and unremarkable. 3*The 7-hour lamb wrap included roasted leg of lamb marinated in Greek spices, wrapped in pita with lettuce, feta cheese, tomato, dill, and tzatziki. Tonight I had the Lamb Entree and decided to write a review (photo attached). Talia's is 1-2 miles from our house and it's become our "go to" place. Lots of healthy choices. I've had the Chicken Caprese, Chopped Salad, Brisket Sandwich, Lamb Wrap and Lamb Sliders. Fresh, expertly prepared...nice portions. The dining area is small & minimalist...it's all about the food. We live in the Town of Kensington, so Talia's Cuzina is nearby. When it first opened, we ordered and shared the Mediterranean Flat Bread. It's an opened faced grilled flatbread topped with grilled chicken, diced tomatoes, red onions, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, dill, and horseradish aioli. This dish is so wonderful, that we honestly haven't tried anything else. Just wish it were open on Sunday and/or Monday. We always order carry-out; it's packaged in aluminum pan with a plastic cover and travels very well. It takes about 25 minutes from order to pick up. read more

OMG the food is SO GOOD! My mom and I stopped in a few weekends ago. I've been hearing rave reviews about this place for more than a year from my neighbors, but never quite made it there...which I now regret! We had the lamb wrap and the chicken caprese salad, and also got the poutine fries. The lamp was quite simply...amazing. It was so, so good!! The salad was also amazing - funnily enough, we got on the recommendation of a work friend who just happened to be there at the same time as us. The poutine fries were super tasty but salty - k feel like they would be great "after drinking" fare, although I don't tend to do a lot of bar hopping in Kensington. ;) Anyways, definitely coming back and bringing the whole family! read more

I've passed by this place dozens and dozens of times, but it's on the other side of the railroad tracks in Kensington. I finally had time to mosey over to look at their menu and my girlfriend and I were so glad we did! She had a salad with chicken and I had the chicken Marsala. Every morsel was delicious and we both had leftovers for lunch the next day. I imagine they have a thriving catering business and I'm sure I'll consider them the next time I want to feed a large group of folks! I have always enjoyed the food here - the lamb wrap is delish - so I couldn't believe how BAD the portobello mushroom sandwich was and that they actually served it this way: grease-sodden bread containing greasy mushrooms a scant amount of red peppers, and greasy, soggy lettuce. I had requested the addition of mozzarella, which showed up on a portion of the sandwich. Inedible. Really disappointing. Two stars are for the other food we ordered. read more

This place was a hidden gem! I found it on the MoCo Show's list of best restaurants in the county and decided to check it out. I ordered at the counter and found a seat. My food was quickly brought to me and man it was delicious! I ordered the lamb bowl and the poutine. This being a mediterranean restaurant I should have stuck with the bowl. It was huge! The lamb was extremely flavorful. I would order this again for sure. The Poutine was not as good. It was made with shredded cheese instead of cheese curds but oh well. As I said, their speciality is Mediterranean so I won't hold it against them. Once I was finished they asked me how everything was and seemed genuinely thrilled that I enjoyed my food. P.S. There IS limited simple seating, but it's comfortable and pleasantly decorated. (Someone said it is take out only, and this is not true. As we step into Talia's, Clara smells the food being cooked it smelled like roast beef . Lily hears food sizzling on the stove cheerfully music playing on the speaker, the zooming of the cars on the street out front. Lily then sees the chefs cooking‍ in the open kitchen. When the food is served we eat family style. Lily tastes the yummy salad with vinegar and sweet strawberries definitely recommend this dish. Clara tastes the chicken flat bread it is so good I definitely recommend it Lily also likes the spanakopita it has a delicious flaky top with a scrumptious spinach and cheese inside. Dad loves the pesto portabella sandwich, one of the best vegetarian sandwiches he has ever eaten! Finally a sweet dessert. Clara loves the Baklava and Lilly licks the sticky sweet honey off here fingers. We will be back! read more

I really wanted to love Talia's, especially after reading all the rave reviews - I actually drove ~40 minutes here to get lunch with a friend. The owner and staff are very friendly and hospitable. I opted for the 7-hour lamb wrap, one of their popular sandwiches. I was really excited to try this and wanted to love it, but it missed the mark for me. The meat was very salty, although usually I'm not sensitive to high amounts of salt. I was kind of struggling to finish it because of this. I think if they changed their recipe a little bit to be more neutral, it would be great. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing - they had so many great options from sandwiches to entrees to dessert. If I'm in the area again I might try something else. read more

Ok I want to start with saying THE FLAVORS ARE THERE. That being said... this place is definitely on its way to addiction status, but not quite there. The lamb in the entree and the lamb in the wrap are the same - Barbacoa style? Which is new to me. My husband and I cook lamb leg a lot over many many hours and have yet to arrive at this texture. I don't hate it or love it. It's different, but the lamb flavor, again, is THERE. The potatoes bring the lemon flavor as well though they make not look it. The POUTINE for $8 could feed 4. SO RICH but a little too salty. And the chips that came with the wrap were definitely done in house - perfectly imperfect with lots of aromatic love. Again, the flavor is there but the texture is not perfected yet. The wrap was the best of the bunch! The flavors of the fresh crisp veggies, bright creamy sauce, rich lamb, and buttery pita. Not lacking in portion either. I had to set some meat aside to actually eat it as a wrap. read more

This place was recommended to me by a buddy who lives close. It takes a bit to find and parking isn't the best. Small place/Mom and pop type restaurant. I ordered the steak and cheese with chips. I had water in the car. Food came in a round aluminum baking pan. Sandwich was pretty good, meat was very tender and the crusty bread was excellent. I always go for the Lamb Gyro (it's called different on the menu and I can't remember) but it's consistent in flavor always. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. I am not going to spend 7 hours slow roasting a leg of lamb. But they will. And is it ever worth it. The meat becomes very tender, and the flavor intensifies. It comes with beautifully grilled asparagus, and potato discs that are a buttery delight. We also tried the chicken caprese salad. A generous portion of grilled chicken, with sautéed brussel sprouts, broccoli, plum tomatoes and field greens. All seasoned in a pesto sauce. A delicious well balanced meal. Both portions were large enough to save some for another day. We phoned in our credit card info, and they brought the food out to our car. There was no concern for our safety.
