Great service at this place! The food was good, not spectacular. I had the Mixed Saltado (chicken and beef). Spouse had the rotisserie chicken. Again, good, but not spectacular. We picked this place because most reviews were good. However, I found the meal and overall experience lacking. Right off the bat, although I specifically looked at the kid's menu prior to coming, they din't have chicken tenders(!) which my daughter was really looking forward to. My margarita was less than impressive as well, lacking in flavor and lite on tequila. Main courses that we all got were kind of bland and uninspiring, and deserts were outright amateurish. The staff was very friendly though, although not very knowledgable or professional. Overall, I expect a better experience during a vacation dinner. read more

I was so excited to try thinking with almost 5 stars it would be a hit....the service was slow, the appetizer of queso dip came after we had our. Entrées, who does that, and we asked three times for it, and when they finally brought it out, it was very watery..my husbands dish was wrong because the waitress did not listen to him..my Fajitas were ok. Our first El Salvadoran food, and it was awesome. The puposas were so good with their spicy cabbage and pepper sauce condiments, my hubby loves the shrimps ceviche, and our entrees were just as good. I had the carne asada which was great with fried egg, and the fried plantains were truly delicious. Not expensive either. Service was good. Definitely coming back! The service was quick, friendly, and helpful (especially in explaining the various dishes I had never heard of before), the price was great, and the food was amazing! The guacamole was so fresh (they make it to order!) and delicious, and so was the rest of the food we ordered. The portions were huge so it was great for sharing and trying different things. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, hands down. Food: Delicious and authentic. I have never had a dish I didn't like there. I recommend the Mi Canton Combo - it's got a lot of variety and it's all good. Also any of their other dishes. Literally all of it is amazing. Service: Every server I've had has been SO nice. My first time there, I had trouble deciding what I wanted and the server gave us great suggestions and a lot of time - but also let us know that she wanted to get our orders in before another large table so we wouldn't have to wait, which was helpful. Prices: Incredibly good for the amount of food they give you. Their burritos are twice the size of other major burroto chains' burritos. I visited El Sabroson, while I was in Williamsburg on business. I would like to say that by no means is this a bad restaurant, not 5 stars by any means. A lot of people added to their reviews that this place is "traditional", let me say this is misleading. This place is not that, by any means of the word. First off it has a mix of Peruvian and Central American influence, two cultures whom do not share much in the way of tastes and condiments. I ordered a fried taco entree with guacamole, and "Pollo a la brasa" (chicken on the grill). The guacamole was excellent, fresh and plenty of flavor with a spicy kick due to the peppers mixed in. Sadly my chicken was another story. It seems the chicken is not fresh made, it was cooked earlier and frozen to preserve (yuuuck!) then it is nuked on the microwave to prep for service. Which if there is a restaurant bible, this would be first or second in the list of commandments. I managed to eat half of my portion before I had enough. Disappointing to say the least. Around the restaurant they have banners and newspaper clippings praising this restaurant for great food, I think its time to take those down and take a hard look at our quality and what's being served to customers. In conclusion I felt like I was in the before stage of Kitchen Nightmares before Gordon Ramsey comes and out and says the "Food is Shit"... Wanted to write this review to ensure everyone understood that this in no way shape or form represents "authentic" Peruvian dishes. Loved the salsa bar, really good guacamole and awesome dinners. Our boys loved the quesadilla and enchiladas. Wife had shrimp and I had steak. We have tried this restaurant twice now. Both times the guacamole was some of the very best we have ever had. Fresh and full of flavor. The other food was just OK, and the salsa tasted like it had a huge amount of oregano in it. My biggest complaint was the margaritas. They were large but had virtually no flavor and no tequila. They were inexpensive so I guess you get what you pay for. There are better options for Mexican food in Williamsburg. We will probably get their guacamole as a takeout only. read more

We ordered a chicken and a steak taco salad, queso and chips....but unfortunately every dish was a disappointment for us. The taco bowls were full of veggies which we loved however the protein was missing big time! We could barely find the meat! It was tough and the refried beans were nonexistent inside the steak bowl...why? Because they were UNDERNEATH the bowl?!??? We were very confused about this? The chicken taco bowl had a table spoon of refried beans. Lastly the queso was very watery! Delicious in flavor but super watery...we really wanted to love this place but it left much to be desired. Maybe it was bc we came 30 minutes before closing? But even still we hoped for a better taste...maybe it'll be better if you go earlier? Not sure. read more
