As part of our quest to try all of the Mexican restaurants in Williamsburg, we ate at La Terraza on Richmond Road. The restaurant interior is a good size with lots of wooden booths and a bar. It has a bright and clean setting. For drinks, we had a mojito and a horchata. The mojito was a little too sweet for me. My husband was well pleased with his horchata. While we had our drinks, they provided chips and salsa for the table and offered to refill them too. They have a large menu. For dinner we had the Fajita Taco Salad, which was filled with steak, chicken and shrimp. I had to bring some home it was such a generous serving. We also had a combo platter that included rice, beans, a taco, a burrito, and an enchilada. Again, a large serving. Prices are really reasonable for the food and ok for the drinks. Service was friendly and efficient, with staff coming by to check on us and then clear our plates and offer boxes for the food we couldn't finish. Parking is right out front and free.

Fajita Taco Salad...Steak/Chicken...nice size, reasonably priced.

This was my first visit to this, yet another Mexican restaurant, in Williamsburg. Our party of 5 included two children and Fernando A. provided friendly, attentive service throughout the meal. While the menu was extensive I went with my "standby" Fajita Taco Salad with a mix of steak & chicken (see photo). At about $12 this was a good value but the steak strips were definitely overcookedand chewy...a frequent and unfortunate issue in this dish. My friends enjoyed the portions, taste and value of their meals while the restaurant accommodated meals for the children easily. Overall, my first visit to La Terraza was very positive, especially in terms of service, prompt delivery, cleanliness and menu. I don't yet have a favorite Mexican restaurant in town, but this one would definitely be in the running. Give it a try. We'll be back.

    A small quesadilla

We ate outside and it was a great experience. The salsa is first rate! I ordered a small quesadilla with chicken, onion and beans and my wife a tortilla soup. Both were delicious and very large

This is the first time I have order from them. I ordered through DoorDash. I asked for no rice, beans, or peppers in my Burrito Fajitas. I only wanted mixed meat, onions and extra cheese. It came with all three of the ingredients I didn't want. Can't eat it. I don't like getting food I ordered that I can't eat. I will NEVER order from them again. So disappointed because they are a well established restaurant in Williamsburg.

This a great Mexican restaurant! La Terraza is your quintessential Mexican restaurant. They serve fresh salsa & whip dip to all tables with free refills. They're so good, it's hard to no fill up on them before your meal. I ordered the fajitas and they were delicious. My friends ordered chicken & rice, nachos, and tacos. The portion was so large for all of our meals, that we all have extras to take home. There is also a large section of drinks & margaritas on the menu. If you have a sweet tooth, fried ice cream is on the menu as well! The restaurant is in a really cute shopping center. So you can shop before or after your meal. There's also lots of parking spots available and lots of table's & booths inside the restaurant. So enjoy this place with your whole crew! The restaurant

Amazing atmosphere, service and food. Super fresh meats and very quick! Immediately served with hot fresh tortilla chips and salsa. We ordered and had our food within 10/15 minutes. Definitely want to try the drinks next time. Our server was fast, polite and accurate. Definitely will be back.

Most restaurants are nearly identical in terms of menu options and flavor. It's perfectly fine with a great bar.

So, let's find out how the visit went. There weren't a lot of people inside and there was only one waitress attending to tables. They have a bar area, tables and booths. We decided to eat near the entrance to their supermarket. It took a while for us to roam through the menu, but decided on what we wanted a few minutes after getting seates. I chose a 1/2 chicken with two sides (fried yucca and french fries). The Peruvian chicken was pretty good and flavorful. Both the fried yucca and fries could've been seasoned more, but were plentiful. I actually saved half of my meal for takeout and tasted well for dinner. Unfortunately, the bad part of our visit was the decor. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which has seen better days. Seats at the booth are torn up.....literally. The tables are outdated. The floor is in pretty bad shape, especially near the bar area. And in the bathroom, the paper towel dispenser was not connected to the wall and instead, laying on the floor. It's not comfortable washing your hands and then turning it sideways where you can get paper. I really don't mean to sound mean,, but the decor alone would turn folks away. It needs a big renovation all around. Hopefully, down the road, they can upgrade or they may become a thing of the past :(

I just ate the little bit of meat out of it, couldn't even eat the shell! Not worth $8 for one! We were visiting from DC, which is objectively a more expensive area, and yet the price per taco was higher than individual tacos at our favorite taco chain in DC, especially for the shrimp and, especially curiously, the cauliflower. And then the portions of shrimp and cauliflower in those tacos was pretty disappointing. Also, very fried. Nachos and quesadillas seemed like a better value than tacos so, while my husband got the aforementioned tacos, I got the nachos without any added protein. Much better value - huge portion at a small price. Some odd choices though. There was an appropriate amount of cheese (beer cheese, which seemed appropriate given its location inside a beer hall) but a really small amount of other toppings (beans, corn, pico I think?) relative to the huge amount of raw jalapeño slices. The dish relies really heavily on jalapeño for flavor and freshness, and I like jalapeño, but these woud be more appropriately described as "jalapeño and cheese on chips" than nachos, IMO. If you love raw jalapeño you'll be in heaven but for those who are accustomed to jalapeños being an accent, this is A LOT. It was like the primary ingredient after chips, even above cheese. All in all, it's fine if you're in the area and want tacos or need food with your beer but is it somewhere I would go out of my way to visit? Probably not.
