In hindsight, the thousands of decisions big and small are made better when there is an experienced eye involved. We found that experienced eye in Jamie Roddy of EdenLA located in Manhattan Beach, CA When you hire an Interior Designer, what are your expectations? Do you want to give them some guidelines, get them to know you and then have them come up with recommendations? Or, do you want to work alongside of them in a collaborative manner? Jamie is equally good at either approach. In our case, we liked to collaborate with her in real time. My wife and I would sit with her in her studio in front of a big screen monitor. We would surf the web pulling together the furniture, materials, colors and accents that we all agreed upon. In some cases, she gently "guided" to consider things that on our own we might not have done. Now that we see those decisions in place, we're glad we were gently pushed to expand our thinking about what we wanted. You may not have the time to spend the time like that, but we did and we loved the outcome of the process.

However while we lived here for two years we got cockroaches twice…read more(once for over 6 months due to insufficient exterminators hired by landlord), we had black mold all over our apartment (despite having a dehumidifier and using bathroom fan) which other tenants told me they had an issue with as well (instead of getting rid of black mold landlord had the black mold painted over which did not stop the problem), we got robbed and when we told Bill he said many people were having their bikes stolen from the gated complex (ours was locked on our patio within the gates no warning from bill prior despite his knowledge of the issue), hot tub constantly broken, constant plumbing issues to cause sewage to come up the sinks and tub (not only our apartment others having this issue as well), the list could go on for a while.... Invest the time in your apartment search to look elsewhere! Azure is a great spot to live, albeit…read morewithout any amenities to justify such high rental rates for the area. There is no doorman, package room, pool, roof-deck, gym or any other convenience that one can usually find standard in a similar type of rental community in the Hermosa/Redondo Beach area. Azure's management company, Pan American, is a master of the "bait and switch" sales tactic in which they'll lure you in with rental concessions and then increase your rental rates as soon as your initial lease expires. Their rates are inflated for the market, which is why there are units sitting vacant with little interest from prospective tenants. The rent for my unit increased 12% year-over-year when you factor in the initial rent concession to bait us to move in and the property management company tried to claim that increased rental rates for the renewal are aligned with the local market. If that were true, there wouldn't be vacant units in the building with such high turnover. I offered to keep my rent flat in order to renew my lease, which is still 9% higher than my effective rent during the initial lease and they rejected the proposal. They would rather lose money offering a rental concession to new tenants than keep an existing tenant at full-price. Pan American's corporate greed and senseless business practices are unethical and tacky. Do yourself a favor and pass on this property!

We have lived at Fusion Southbay for almost 2 years and we love it! It is a wonderful community…read morewith modern buildings and great amenities. We first started renting and were so impressed that we then decided to buy once a place opened up. Our favorite features of this community are: - It is extremely close to the highway and to the beach. And the fact that the beach is Manhattan Beach (which is probably the nicest beach in LA) is icing on the cake. - The gated community has a beautiful walking trail with so much greenery around it. We love going for walks around here with our dog. - The school district is amazing! This is an award-winning district that is just wonderful for kids. - The buildings are new, having been built in 2007. Everything just works so well. - The HOA fee is so low! I'm never seen such a good community with such a low HOA fee. This is because the HOA has been well-managed and has funds available. - It is very close to silicon beach, where there is strong technology growth happening. And the LA Rams stadium is not too far away. This area is great for growth! - There are a ton of big companies around like Mattel and Northrop Grumman, so jobs aplenty. - And best of all, the people in the community are great. There is a strong family feel to living here! Overall, this community is such a wonderful deal. I can't believe it's so affordable for all that it offers!

Their are several things I love about the Fusion property, after all my family has been here for…read moreseveral years. We live in largest unit and my only complaint is all the stairs, other than that, the townhouse is great with a contemporary feel. The grounds and the pool are great as well, the dogs love going on walks with us and have made lots of pals. So what's my complaint? I don't know if it's the way I dress (I'm actually a stylist so...yeah...), or if it's the fact that I like to sit by the pool and work, or if it's the fact that I take walks around the property, but I have been treated very rudely by only a select group of people who have said nasty things to me, and even questioned whether I lived here or not, I even had a woman threaten me and follow me to my unit. THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS COMMUNITY SHOULD BE ABOUT! Talk about judging a book completely wrong!!! So yes, I do have some problems with the way the community has changed over the years, and management should be concerned with these people, not the families who have lived in Manhattan Beach (previously for 30+ years until moving to the Fusion.)
