Hidden gem! Love this place Thanks to boyfriend's roommate for introducing to us after going to that crappy place 'Purple Orchid' This place was much more worth it! If you are trying to look for this place, it is actually hidden downstairs of an office building. That is as much information I can give because I was a bit lost trying to follow the friend. Hidden underground basement kind of thing this place is. Try out their delicious beers by pints and chill by the tables or chairs. There is ONE television and usually the locals come here. There is no table service. It's pretty much get it from the beer bar and sit wherever you want. There are peanuts or sometimes even pretzels! Locals here are friendly! We met a few and we all had a really good time. We hope we get to bump into them again! TIP: There's bulletin near the T.V, which shows the what kind of beer they have for the day. I love beer. Check that. I love good beer. Good hoppy, bitter, palate coating beer. El Segundo is all of these things. We'd had the Mayberry & blue house IPA elsewhere, but there's something about drinking it from the source that makes it taste that much better. The citra pale, two 5 left double, hop tanker double, and my favorite of them all, the power plant triple IPA were all amazing. Wish I could have taken a couple pints of the triple to go, but at 11.2%, I'd probably be hammered. The tasting room is pretty small. As you can imagine, the place is busy full of locals and beer affecianados. Get ready to get comfy. If you're claustrophobic, try to pick a time when no one's drinking beer. Oh wait, that time doesn't exist. You're screwed. We, however, don't mind getting cozy with strangers if beer like they serve is in our hands! If you like your beer hoppy and love IPAs then this place is for you. Nearly everything is an IPA variety with subtle taste variations. There was a vanilla stout and two reds but otherwise we tried six different IPAs and there were still more! The flight tasters are an outstanding four (yes, four) ounce pours, and Served in an equally massive tray of five at only $2-2.50 a pour. I've never seen flight pours this big! Vibe of the tasting room is cool -- young but not too young, cool but not hipster. There are TVs tuned to sports but they don't make it a sports bar atmo. I like how this brewery is located in the walkable el segundo downtown district so you can get a quick bite nearby easily. Tip: the women's bathroom does NOT LOCK. I got walked in on twice! I am fortunate enough to have a friend who's way into visiting local breweries and have interest in home brewing. That means I can tag along and gain some knowledge. Though I can't honestly say that that knowledge is retained during our brewery visits after a few tastings. El Segundo Brewing is located in old town El Segundo. I've never been to the old tap room. From what I heard the new room is awesome, more spacious and the tanks are now on displayed. I came here during LA beer week and the place was pumping. Great crowd, service, and the Dodgers playing on the big screen. Perf. They mostly specialize in IPAs, so if you're a lover of IPAs you're in for a treat. Being a lightweight, I've had their tasting flight. Which was great because I wasn't able to try the Passionate Dog IPA otherwise. Delish. One of their limited beers. I've been waiting a long time for this brewery to open when they first started construction. This is a very small brewery that gets their beer around to a lot of local restaurants and bars. They don't have set times for their taproom, so the only way to know if it's open is checking their facebook page (they should probably look into getting a twitter account too, if they don't have one already). The owner, Rob, said he's not too worried about having set open times, because they're always really full when they are open and he's worried about overcrowding. Speaking of which, the taproom room is super small, with about 4 chairs, a couple small tables, and two standing tables. There's no food (in fact, I'm not even sure if they serve water) but they have some menus of nearby restaurants so you can order food and pick it up or you can probably get it delivered. If you're a fan of IPAs or very hoppy beers, then you'll really like their beers. They're still tweaking their Pale Ale, and they had a new Stout on tap, if you prefer darker beers. I love having a local brewery nearby, so even though I'm not a fan of IPAs, I'll still go here with some friends to support local businesses. I wish they had some more tables and seats though (like Eagle Rock Brewery) so I can enjoy a beer and play some board games. They also have a nice TV in there too that will be nice during football games. I'm pretty sure they're not bottling anything yet, but they've got growlers, which is always a better deal. Try Casa Azul & "Schot in het Donker!" The brewery guys are nice to talk to and really care for their beer. The place is super small and you might even miss it if you're walking down the street. There are about 2 tables in the whole place (one big and one two seater) and a little TV for sports while you're chugging. Sadly, some of the beers were out when we arrive 8:00pm on a Wednesday. If you are a fan of IPAs, then this is the place for you. I'm not as big of an IPA fan, but their stuff was still good. At one point for me, everything began to taste the same. From my understanding their tasting room expanded from a room to the actual area where the beer is brewed. A flight of 5 will run you about $11. If you're ordering a flight they have you write down your choices on a piece of paper. I was not aware of that, so I was ordering the lady serving me rudely walked away from me to go fetch the paper I needed to fill out. She did not seem happy to be there and it showed with her body language, it demonstrated poor customer service as a whole. There are not a lot of places to sit, and when I went everyone seemed to be locals. I don't mean locals like the South Bay area, but I mean the city of El Segundo. While most breweries have games and other things to do as you sip on your beer, this place does not. read more

Hey guys - sweet news! Travis, a manager at El Segundo Brewing, sent me a message explaining that they agreed with my previous review. Now all those beers you purchase for your friends that are unclaimed after 2 months don't just get erased from the board. Those beers now get transferred onto a list for service men and women (military, fire department, et. al) and don't expire. This is sweet because one might argue these groups of people deserve a drink all year round. Next time we go in, I may add "moms" and "nurse practitioners" to the list but I hope someone can beat me to it. El Segundo Brewing is a hidden gem if there ever was one in the South Bay. We happened to be enjoying some great Belgian beer on tap across the street at Rock & Brews when I just happened to peruse the Yelp app and found this place. And what a find it was. They happened to be open from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Saturday and we hurried over to grab a taste of their beer and see what all the buzz was about. For $8.00 we got a taste of 4 of their beers, which included an excellent porter, dark rich, malty and delicious, and an outstanding double IPA. The double IPA was tremendous, nice hops, but they did not go overboard, a clean, dry finish, and simply a pleasure to enjoy. I could drink their double IPA all afternoon while watching a game. We absolutely loved our visit, tasting great beer and chatting about the adventures opening up a brewery in the conservative town of El Segundo. I'm glad the South Bay finally has some respectable beer to drink! read more

No parking lot, so you will have to find street parking. It's a pretty crowded area, so you might have to look for a little while to find one. The place is pretty small, with only a couple of tables for seating and some seats at the bar. The have a great selection of IPAs available. We tasted 8 different types of beer and that wasn't even all of the ones they offer. They have a great selection. You can have tasters, pints, or even take a growler home with you (they take other breweries' growlers as long as the logo is covered). Prices are very reasonable, between $6-8 for a pint. Growler fills vary by the type of beer. Overall, great place to go if you like IPAs. Beers are very good. read more

Tucked into downtown El Segundo, this place fits right in with the brick buildings that house shops and restaurants. We came in for a quick drink before dinner and sat at a long table with stools. The brews on tap were listed in colorful and interesting fonts on the wall. I chose the beach day citrus blend and it was very refreshing. Like a cross between a blue moon and shock top. The prices were decent $6 for a glass. The dining area is pretty good size and it is open in the back so air can flow in. Lots of tables and chairs and the bartenders were friendly. This brewery has a cool entrance. Down some steps, walk around through a hall way, then it opens up. Although they types of beer brewed here (mostly ipa's) aren't my cup of tea (I mostly like wheat style) the limited options I had were pretty good. The service was great, very attentive. Having come across bottles of El Segundo's brews time and times again, I was pretty stoked to finally sample their lineup at the source. Even better, the folks here still had their first ever triple IPA, Power Plant, flowing on tap. Across the board, the brews ranged from above average to delicious. The aforementioned Power Plant offered much complexity in the malts and I found excellent balance in the Mayberry IPA. Something to bear in mind though is that the brewery is tiny and seating is very limited. Case in point, my friend and I lucked out with a table before a huge crowd came in as part of a beer tour. read more

One of our first stops on the Yelp Elite event Taste/Tour of El Segundo was the Brewery. You actually walk downstairs to get to it but this place was jumping. Live and vibrant. It was cool seeing the big brewer towers on the inside of the building. I'm not a beer drinker but there were plenty of choices and I didn't see a mean face in the room which means everyone was happy with their beers. Since we didn't get a chance to visit the restaurant across the street they brought us some of their food it was a stew/chili with meat...corn..cheese and spices it was really tasty. I was in town for a business meeting and felt like having a beer. I yelped brewery's and this place popped up. I read some reviews and thought what the hell it's only 1.5 miles so I walked it. The walk was great. So much to see. Nice people everywhere smiling and letting me cross the streets in interrupted. I was on a mission! Walked in and Brett welcomed me as I walked in. I shared my thoughts on the tap room and he was nice enough to listen to yamer on. So I sampled the blue house IPA the hop tanker double IPA and the white dog IPA.
