Tortas are so delicious! I had the pork torta. The bread was soft and had nice toasted edges, the veggies were crisp and fresh and the meat portion was perfect. Of all of their locations I think that this one is the best. Each of these locations is like an entity in of itself as there is no consistency among them except for the name and maybe the prices. The De la Vina spot has friendly employees, it's clean and the food was very good. Now, I don't remember this place ever having chips but the kind lady behind the counter gave us a large plate full of them for free! Nice little salsa bar, the torta was great as were the tacos. If you want to try El Sitio...come here and skip the other locations. read more

Came here with some friends looking for tasty Mexican food, specifically tortas because tortas are a pretty good sign of legit Mexican food. Among my friends we ordered tacos, a chorizo torta, and a carnitas burrito. I think the torta and burrito could serve 2 people each - they are pretty substantial and come with a side of chips. Loved the chorizo torta. Toasted/fried on one side with a generous portion of real chorizo sausage. It would do well with some sour cream or avocado to cut the salt, but it just translated to staying more hydrated. The burrito was very filling - loaded with rice, beans and meat. Standard but it felt like a brick. I liked that they pan fried/griddled the sides so they were toasty. Overall - good flavors and excellent value. Very filling read more

Was hankoring breakfast, so I ordered a chili relleno breakfast burrito. Figured that'd do the trick. Breakfast Burritos come with eggs, beans and your selection of meat (which in this case was chili relleno)... that's it. Everything else is extra, which at base price of $10 seems a bit expensive for a walk up Mexican place. Got the burrito and to my dismay it didn't have any egg. It was just chili relleno and beans in a tortilla. It was fine, I ate it regardless but when I mentioned at the end they said the "egg" was the thin layer of coating on the chili relleno itself. I'm sorry but that's BS. That's just a normal chili relleno burrito, nothing breakfast about that. If that's the case then we can call anything with an egg in the batter "breakfast." The breakfast here is on point the tortas carne asada are very good! The place itself looks like a hole in the wall but the food is authentic and the portions are nice size. There are a few of these locations around town which makes it easy to grab a burrito or torta during lunch because they have so many locations. The only issue I have is that the establishments are small and sometimes the staff has a hard time getting the food out quick during a rush. The experience I had today was tremendously underwhelming. As a Santa Bárbara native this place USED to be extremely great and the reviews were definitely accurate but as of today my views for this place have completely changed. Stopped by to purchase 2 burritos, one with steak and one with veggies. The steak burrito was filled with nothing but steak, rice and beans...where is the cheese? the sour cream? I wasn't even questioned on if I wanted these added. Veggie burrito was filled with veggies,rice and beans + LOADS of cheese..completely overpowering everything else. I would like to point out that the steak burrito was a whopping 10 dollars..but for what? At this rate you're better off going to a different restaurant where you can get a bang for your buck. Pick up said 2lbs 10 dollar burrito. Marvel at the fact that you've gone through 1/2 of the burrito, have not touched much of your beer - and like a crack fiend, continue to eat. Yup, 5 stars for a fantastic place. Totally authentic, totally yummy, totally inexpensive, a little greasy but awesome! I love their asada tacos, as well as their Brocheta de Camaron (grilled shrimp, peppers, tomatoes, onions, rice etc.) Their salsa is excellent too! The only thing I don't get is the chicken burrito... the chicken is a bit dry for my taste. Otherwise, everything else is incredible! I would recommend this place over Super Rica any day! There's little to no wait, the food is less pricey, and the food is better (in my humble opinion.) I adore the women who runs the cash register. I order from here all the time for my coworkers and I. I am a nurse at cottage and the de la vina location is walking distance. I am SO UPSET with the last order I placed. They missed 4 items and when I called them back about it they said they would tell their manager and he would take care of it. They took my phone number down and I moved on. However, a week later I hadn't received any phone calls or any reimbursements on my credit card that was used. I call the restaurant frequently for an update and they tell me the manager knows but basically doesn't care and that there is nothing more that they can do which is understandable. They gave me the managers phone number. Every time I try to call the manager JUAN, he won't answer. I have left messages and am so unhappy with their lack of responsiveness. Unbelievably unprofessional and my coworkers and I will not be ordering from them again. read more

This place was pretty empty when we got there on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm, and we were STARVING as we hadn't eaten anything for the entire day and had spent the morning semi-bouldering. My boyfriend got the Lunch Combo which was $9.99 for four tacos, with rice, beans, and fresh avocados. I got the chicken quesadillas which were ginormous, and came with mushrooms and fried onions, and were about $7. It seems that most of the options on their menu were for tacos, but they did have burritos and quesadilla options. The food was perfect for what we wanted, and they make it fresh on the spot! It is a bit greasier than I expected, but I'm not sure if it was because of the mushrooms that get watery when cooked. My quesadilla was drenched in SOMETHING, though! The restaurant itself is located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking, and their portions are really large for what you pay! The decorations are sparse and it's pretty much an eat-and-go place. The salsa bar is not that great but its... good enough :) you dont really need much salsa with their food though, it's flavorful enough! read more

Cute little place with little need for atmosphere or seating capacity. Apparently it is named after a little town in Zacatecas which is where my suegros are from - small world. Anyway I got the veggie burrito, my traveling companion had the breakfast burrito. The food came up right away, served with chips and rosted chiles on the side. Although the price was a little more than we were used to, we figured Santa Barbara is more expensive, so we didn't mind. The burritos turned out to be delicious and more than enought to satisfy our hunger. We finishd our road trip all the way to SF without even getting hungry. Would eat there again. read more

I've been spoiled. I grew up in Orange County, surrounded by tons of mexican food joints/stands/family gettogethers, so I've been lucky enough to have eaten at some pretty amazing places. The boyfriend and I recently went to Santa Barbara for a short vacation, and decided to try El Sitio because we wanted food that was tasty and easy on the wallet. The service was ok, nothing special, and the food left something to be desired. My carnitas tacos were salty and a little bland, and my bf's carnitas burrito wasn't very flavorful. While El Sitio was ok, it certainly doesn't compare to the dozens of other places we eat at on a regular basis back home in the OC, but like I said, we're spoiled. El Sitio may be some of the best Mexican food in SB, but when you're from out of town, you may just want to wait until you get back home to get your taco/burrito fix. read more

The best cure to a horrible hangover. Usually whenever I'm feeling the after effects of a long night I would prefer something soupy or nothing at all but let me tell you, El Sitio definitely hit the spot while I was in my zombie state. The meat is juicy and flavorful. Their portions are ridiculous. I mean I don't know whether it was because I was still seeing double of everything or they were just gigantic portions. El Sitio is basically your typical mexican joint but on crack. The only suggestion I have for you is you might want to go with a small group because the restaurant is tiny. So it isn't very suitable for a big crowd but you can always buy to-go. I also heard that El Sitio's owner is actually the owner of a chain of mexican restaurants spread out through santa barbara but I haven't really looked into it much but if I do hear more about it and what not I'll be sure to update my review. Other than the great food, I definitely recommend El Sitio if you ever visit Santa Barbara especially if you're looking for just a relaxing lunch with a few friends. read more

Customer service is shocking. the older lady at the register tried to charge me extra for jalapenos and cabbage which are normally free (when they are at the salsa bar). The older lady working 5/09/20 (didn't have a name tag) has nooooo, and i mean nooooo business working in customer service.
