Super cute breakfast and lunch spot which is located close to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, "Los Agaves". My friends and I sat outside as the weather was beautiful over the weekend. Staff was friendly and when we got there, it was already busy. You can tell it's popular as the line in the entry was pretty long. The food was so fresh! Thought I'd try a new restaurant in Santa Barbara this weekend. It's the strangest thing. It's right on the corner. You can get new tires next door, but while you're waiting, you can catch breakfast or lunch. Outdoors, there's a lot of seating. Wooden tables and wicker chairs. Awnings and large umbrella coverings. You pay first, and then they seat you. There's some seating indoors, but it's limited, compared to outdoors. I ordered a latte ($5.50) and avocado toast ($16). They add a 3% surcharge if you use a credit card. There is a window for to-go orders, but if you're dining in, you place your order with the gal at the podium. I have to say, although there were two staff working on drinks, my latte took a while. Luckily, it came before the food. There was a staff member waiting at the counter and delivering just drinks. Once I got my latte, it tasted good. Strong. I felt the caffeine. The avocado toast was good, too. It was served in a shallow metal dish. Thick, high quality, Artisan bread. I enjoyed the toasted pumpkin seeds. I would definitely order it again, but open to ordering something else on the menu next time. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and efficient. There was another gentleman standing in the back, immediately clearing tables. It's better if you come earlier on the weekends. There was a line of people when I was leaving. Overpriced for an average brunch spot. Street parking is hard but we finally found something. They have some gluten free options but can't make some things gluten free (such as french toast, even though they did in the past). We spent $5 on a can of Diet Coke with a cup of ice and we were told there are no refills. That is crazy. The salmon toast was okay, very salty and the toast is super thin. It would be better if there was more toast to balance the saltiness. I also got the omelette and thought it was good, but not super special. The potatoes were done well, very crispy! Strawberry matcha is light and pretty sweet. You get a small glass for $9!! A bit disappointing for the price but the outdoor patio is nice for a sunny day. read more

Stopped by The Shop Kitchen during the Validation Ale take over before a concert at Santa Barbara Bowl this past week. Had a couple hazys and a mule while trying the Philly cheesesteak and smash burger. Let's just say the drinks beat out the food, but still a cool chill spot to post up before heading into the show. Really cute spot located right next to a car shop. Hence the name too! You order first and you can pick your seating inside or outside of the place. Since it was a beautiful day we chose to sit outside. We got the Chilaquies with carnitas and WOW it was soo good and nice spice to it. Really good with or without meat. Rollex Bacon with scramble egg, avocado, smoked tomato and rolled into a African flatbread, served with house potatoes. I would say this reminds of me an onion pancake if you ever had one of those. It was REALLY good. I truly enjoyed this. Last we got the waffles and that orange bits of butter that they served it with was amazing!! Really brings out the flavor and add the syrup. Sooo good. Had myself a vanilla latte (almond milk) and that hit the spot for my caffeine kick. Stopped by here on my way north from Los Angeles to grab some brunch. The restaurant is conveniently just a few blocks off the freeway, making it a good stop for commuters/travelers. Parking seems to be just nearby street and it wasn't too plentiful but wasn't too difficult either. The shop appears to be related to the repair shop just next door. In any case, this is an order at the front and pay first, decide if you want to sit outside or inside and wait staff lite to bring you order and some other things, but there's self serve water station. They do have a bathroom too in case you need to go. The outdoor seating is definitely more plentiful but the inside has a good amount of seating and it may get a bit cozy if many parties also sit inside. read more

The Shop Kitchen is a breakfast/lunch spot with indoor and outdoor seating on the corner of Milpas and De La Guerra St. For their winter hours, they open a little later than I'd like, 9am; get there early if you want to avoid the rush. I don't recall any dedicated parking, but there is public parking on Milpas or nearby side streets. Order outside at the register, pick a seat inside or out, and the drinks and food are brought to you. Outside seating is spacious and feels secluded despite being right on Milpas St, with upbeat, fun music and a hip vibe. Inside has less seating and is a nicely done warm/industrial with concrete and wood furnishings. We recently went for Sunday breakfast at opening. Breakfast options are very creative and include fried chicken eggs benedict, toasts with avocado and eggs or salmon lox, waffles, omelets and burritos. For lunch you can get a smash burger, salads, fried chicken items and steak sandwich among other things - limited but thoughtfully curated offerings. They also serve champagne drinks, wine, cider and beers. Food came out reasonably quick on warm metal plates and it looked beautiful. My wife's avocado toast was enormous and very flavorful, with tons of avo, sprouts, tomatoes and scrambled eggs atop thick but soft toasted bread. I ordered "the tug" which is the fried chicken benedict on a homemade biscuit with hollandaise and fried potatoes. Good lord! Chicken was so juicy and crunchy with perfectly cooked, drippy poached eggs and tangy hollandaise. The underlying biscuit was soft and flakey and the potatoes very thin sliced and full of flavor, with just the right amount of salt and seasoning on everything. Drip coffee was also delicious. The food is not cheap at around $16-$24/dish and the coffee comes in paper cups even if you dine in, but the quality, size and gourmet flavors of The Shop's dishes are as good, maybe better than I've had anyplace. Unclear where parking is for this place and there's not a lot of street parking on Milpas but the staff were super friendly and courteous, letting me and other patrons know that a large party arrived without calling ahead and offering chips while we waited for our orders. I got the Tugboat to-go and was really surprised to see that my poached eggs didn't break at all while I was driving. My husband and I dined here with a Groupon gift certificate that our kids gifted us. We went on a Thursday morning around 10 AM. You place your order at the window and then find a seat in the garden patio which is lovely. There were only a few others dining while we were there. My husband ordered eggs Benedict with side of fresh fruit and a drip coffee and I ordered an egg wrap with an iced lavender latte. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were as expected. The food come in about 15 minutes and everything was fresh and looked like it was made on site. I highly recommend purchasing the Groupon offer as it makes your dining experience such a great value. I did go inside to use the restroom and it wasn't overly clean but acceptable. The interior decor leaves a bit to be desired so if you do visit, definitely sit out on the patio. read more

The food here was really good, and I especially loved the outdoor patio; it's such a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal. My favorite was the avocado toast; it was full of flavor and super satisfying. I did add an egg and bacon, which made it a little pricey. This is an interesting place. The customers here are mostly locals. You walked up to the counter to order, then you could decide to sit inside or out on the patio. Most people picked the patio sitting. We ordered a Cobb salad and a Carnita Burrito. The Cobb Salad has lots of Avacado slides and the chicken was freshly grilled. The Carnita Burrito was much better than I expected. It was delicious. Ingredients was fresh and seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It Came with chips and green salsa. My husband and I took a quick trip to Santa Barbara for our Anniversary. So, I asked locals what's a good place for breakfast burritos and suggested The Shop Brunch. Let me begin with the hospitality. Very welcoming vibes. It is a walk up order and the host will sit you down at a table. We asked what's a good burrito and suggested the Waygu breakfast burrito. This burrito has to be the best I ever had. It was $24.00 however, it's pretty big too. Not cheap on the meat either. The waygu was so tender , along with egg, avocado, and thin home potatoes. The salsa was not too hot the way I lie it to complement the burrito without taking over the burrito. The owner Douglas was very friendly and he saw me take a pick and we told him we're from L.A. and I said this burrito is amazing. I have had a lot of burritos here in L.A. and am searching for what I had in Santa Barbra. We said we would go up to spend the day in Santa Barbara to eat at The Shop Brunch again. Douglas if you see this thank you for spending the time to talk to us. I also would like to track the burrito guy on IG to contest he needs to try this burrito over Wake in Late. Stopped by this brunch shop on our roadtrip down to LA. The restaurant is order at the counter and then you'll seat yourself or the waiter will help seat you. The food feels very fresh and healthy, we loved all the options they had for some of us that are vegetarian or pescatarian. I personally ordered the salmon toast for ~$20, i thought it was a little on the pricey end, there is also no side for the toasts. However i did feel pretty full and satisfied after eating the whole toast. There is only outdoor seating, I personally don't mind that as i love being under the sun. The restaurant also has their own special hot sauce, which i personally found to be very mild. I would appreciate it if they had some generic hotsauce like tapatio or tobasco. Other than that, i did really enjoy my food and the ambience here, I would come back! read more

Came by on a Wednesday around 9:30 am after a hike at Rattlesnake Canyon. I was hungry. Place was mostly empty at the time. There is inside and outside seating. Ordering is done through a window counter. I was not expecting this based on their pricing. I ordered their Steak Sando ($24). I've had the pleasure of coming to The Shop Brunch twice now during two trips to Santa Barbara. It's a nice little gem in a suburb with outdoor and patio seating- very casual! The portions are generous, so come hungry! We stopped here at about 11:30am on 05/11/2025. This was our first time here. The line was a tiny bit long at the time, since we had to get on our way down the 101; however, we ordered to go. It was made quickly and we were on our way. Oh man, everything was really really good. I had the Tijuana wrap, which is essentially the Shop's take on the chicken ceasar wrap. It was grilled chicken, ceasar salad, parmesean and avocado wrapped in a flatbread. It was definitely better than your typical wrap of this nature. Such a cool corner to have breakfast at. As you arrive there is the hostess that helps you out you order as you get there up front and then they sit you down. There is indoor seating and outdoor as well, the outdoor patio is neat and perfect for breakfast and brunch. Love the look they went for vintage and Rustic from decor to plates to barstools and all. They have a water station you can feel free and grab on your own as well with condiments and other things you may need. The food came out fairly quick and their service is great. Their orange juice was delicious and their food was so Tasty we licked the plate! Their Frenchie order was amazing and all the flavors along with the blueberry compote was to die for. The Tugboat was so good their biscuits were fresh and the chicken was juicy and their house potatoes were crunchy and so good! The decor on the inside was neat and the vibes were chill. You park on the street or on the residential areas we didn't have a problem with finding any. We arrived like at 11:15am and there wasn't a wait like at 12:45ish there was a huge line to get seated.. def worth the wait though. If you're on the hunt for a fantastic brunch spot in Santa Barbara, The Shop Brunch is the place to be. Ok, so this place isn't on State Street and I kinda don't want to give it away just to keep for myself. It's located in the cut, just seemingly plopped into a neighborhood, and bam! There you go, an awesome brunch spot! We decided to try the Tugboat, Yolo, Like-a-Tiger, and treated ourselves to a bottle of bubbly. The Tugboat was a standout--imagine a buttermilk biscuit topped with crispy fried chicken, two perfectly poached eggs, and a smoky tomato hollandaise sauce. It's as delicious as it sounds. The Yolo didn't disappoint either, with a hearty split biscuit, a bowl of sausage gravy for smothering, and more of that tasty fried chicken, all crowned with a perfectly poached egg. For a lighter option, the Like-a-Tiger was spot on: an egg white omelette filled with sautéed spinach, red onion, zucchini, and normally comes with mushrooms (which I love) but the wife doesn't. The vinaigrette that was on top the omelette was a tasty acidic buddy that you needed for the ride. Pairing these dishes with our bubbly along with the cool sunny Santa Barbara weather, made our brunch feel extra special. The vibe at The Shop Brunch is warm and welcoming, especially being able to enjoy it on their the lovely outdoor patio. The staff were genuinely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I visited the shop for brunch after hearing great reviews. It's a very cute spot with great service. I ordered the salmon toast, while my husband opted for the chicken sandwich. The salmon Benedict featured thick slices of salmon, which many might appreciate for the value, but it wasn't to my taste. The thickness emphasized the cold, slimy texture of the salmon, making it difficult for me to enjoy. I prefer cooked salmon or thinner slices of smoked salmon in a toast, so this may just be a personal preference and not a fault of the dish itself. On the other hand, my husband really enjoyed his chicken sandwich, and the bite I had was delicious. I also tried the horchata latte, but it didn't meet my expectations. Compared to those I've had at Mexican establishments, this one lacked flavor and tasted like powdered horchata. The owner was very kind and offered to switch it out for a matcha latte, which I appreciated, but unfortunately, the matcha also fell short, with very little flavor.
