Visited Finch & Fork with my girlfriend. We had a lovely breakfast. Service was attentive and friendly. Our food was delicious. I'm normally not a yogurt person, but I really enjoyed theirs. I'm pretty sure the granola was homemade or at the very least sourced from a whole food brand. The baked pears added the perfect amount of sweetness. Pancakes and Avocado toast were also delicious. The cocktail is dangerous; I could have sipped on it all day. The restaurant is located inside The Kimpton. It's a beautiful property. Shoutout to Robert who was a pleasure to meet. First, I want to say how elegant the hotel & restaurant are. There's a rooftop access where the pool is, and you can see gorgeous views of Santa Barbara. The staff here are incredibly kind, and quick to assist with what you need. As we were a large party, the staff was very patient and made sure everyone was situated. OKAY THE FOOD: * We had a preset menu, but everything was pretty tasty! * Tuna Poke: This was very delish - I loved that it was already portioned nicely and was the perfect appetizer. * Caesar Salad: The salad was quite yummy! Took my mom here for Mother's Day brunch after seeing generally positive reviews online. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the price point at all. First, Finch & Fork is essentially just the restaurant inside the Kimpton Canary Hotel. What I mean is that it's not a restaurant that happens to be inside of hotel property (think Caruso's). It's just where you eat as a hotel guest that is hungry for brunch. We had an 11:00 AM reservation, which I believe was the earliest brunch seating. The hotel lobby was packed and chaotic when we arrived. We checked in and sat down to wait, but while we were waiting, multiple other parties of two who checked in after us were seated first. Not a huge issue on its own, but not a great start. The Mother's Day brunch itself consisted of a buffet plus an entrée selection. The buffet had three main sections: seafood (oysters, shrimp, tuna poke), salads, and miscellaneous bites and desserts like deviled eggs, Italian wedding soup, and macarons. Honestly, the buffet felt more like cocktail hour appetizers at a wedding than a true luxury brunch spread. The entrées were fine. The service was fine. Nothing was bad, but nothing felt memorable or special either. The atmosphere was also extremely loud...noticeably so. What really dropped the rating for me was the value. For two people with no alcohol (just iced tea), the total came out to $264.60. That price was honestly shocking for what was offered. Nothing about the food, service, or atmosphere justified that kind of cost. As we were leaving, we noticed a Photo Booth setup and a bouquet-making station across the lobby. No one had mentioned either of these to us, and the bouquet station appeared unattended, so we weren't even sure whether it was included or an extra charge. Overall, I left feeling disappointed, especially because this was meant to be a special Mother's Day outing for my mom. If you're just looking for a casual hotel brunch/lunch/dinner, it's perfectly fine. But for a holiday brunch at this price point, I expected something much more polished, elevated, and memorable. read more

My friends and I came to Finch & Fork for their 'Bubbles & Brunch' experience. The entrance to this spot is through the Kimpton Canary Hotel and is not difficult to locate. Surprisingly enough, we had no wait on a Saturday during optimal brunch time. DRINK/FOOD: Bottomless Mimosas - They were HUGE. They came with three juice options: orange, cranberry, and/or grapefruit. In my opinion, the grapefruit juice pairing was the best. You can get buzzed pretty fast off of these. Shashuka (3.5/5) - It was my first time having shashuka, and I think this spot provided a decent overall introduction to the dish. The pinsa bread was delicious, but the default amount you receive is definitely not enough. I found myself eating the tomato sauce by itself, and it felt as if I was just eating spoonfuls of fancy spaghetti sauce. (Could've gotten extra pinsa for $3... but nah.) Breakfast Burrito - My friend had this and stated that it was subpar. Its components did not consist of anything to provide crispy, structural textures, so overall, it felt like she was eating breakfast mush. SERVICE: The service was phenomenal here. Everyone was super attentive, so our waters and mimosas were always refilled super quickly. They also do check up on you quite frequently, but I think that's mainly because we opted for bottomless mimosas. TLDR// I would say this place is better known for its booze and not its bites. The food is on the pricier end as well but they have healthy portions. For food at breakfast we tried the yogurt chia bowl, traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast) and the avocado toast with smoked salmon. The yogurt bowl wasn't overly sweet and I loved all the toppings on it. The avocado toast was huge! They definitely didn't skimp on toppings and the smoked salmon was perfect. Not fishy or too smoky/salty. For dinner we got the mushroom noodles and the confit fried chicken. The noodles were very savory and rich but didn't feel too heavy. The confit fried chicken came with a huge piece of thigh and leg piece. Perfectly fried and the potatoes and broccolini were well cooked. We started our brunch with the F&F Deviled eggs. You can order it by two or four. We opted for the 4 since it was three of us. The deviled eggs had pork belly in it. I thought it taste more on the vinegary side but it was good. It was burst with different flavors profile. For my entrée, I decided to order the F&F Eggs Benedict. The Eggs Benedict was okay. I did like the English muffin and the smashed potatoes but the benedict itself was nothing special. I thought everything we ate was very typical and nothing really something I would come back for. I think the chef cooked well, I think they need a new revamp brunch menu to have better options. The service was good. I recently had the pleasure of eating at Finch and Fork and what a treat it was. If you're not staying at the hotel, but looking for an excellent breakfast or brunch location it's very convenient as there is hotel parking. We were unable to park at the hotel lot due to the farmers market, but I think in general it would be a great place if you didn't want to worry about parking. We were delighted to enjoy bottomless mimosas for $28 to augment our brunch. The service was very attentive and all the staff were very friendly. The food came very quickly. As we were there for brunch, we ordered breakfast burritos and I tried the brace beef short ribs over sweet potato hash. Everything was very good and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I don't know that I would have the short ribs for breakfast again. it seemed more like a lunch or dinner item with eggs . However, it was as described in the menu and it was very good. There was no kick / not enough acid on both the chicken Caesar salad, as well as the chicken sandwich, making everything taste the same. We had to ask for hot sauce. Jalapeños or something pickley might have really helped here. Also, they don't have breakfast all day, so be mindful of that when you look through yelp pictures and go during lunch. We went for the French toast, but realized that they weren't serving it anymore so were super bummed (in hindsight we shouldn't have assumed they had brunch food all day). Prior to the afta party, Ivan was a great bartender! He poured drinks for me on Wed & Thu during my stay. He is super nice & friendly. The bar itself is small, but there are a number of small tables nearby. All in all, a very positive experience vs the mediocre experience at the hotel. We have had dinner at Finch & Fork a few times, and it was always great, but this time we had brunch on a saturday morning. We shared the Smashed Avocado Toast, their Vanilla Bean & Chia Seed Yogurt, with a scrambled egg on the side. Avocado toast is a staple on brunch menus these days, but this is very special; fresh with lots of flavor. The yogurt is practically a meal in itself with tons of fresh fruit and he delicious addition of chia seeds which makes its own smooth pudding. Service was excellent, and the location is dynamite, right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, and on Saturday morning the home of one of the best farmers' markets we've experienced. read more

Sadly the food here was quite underwhelming for us, especially considering all the amazing eats they have in SB! My friend and I stayed at the hotel, so had breakfast included in the mornings. We tried various plates: short rib and sweet potato hash, eggs benedict, french toast, and the shakshuka. She and I agreed that all of the plates were anywhere from a 2 to 3 (out of 5). I would say you can opt out of the short rib and sweet potato hash and the shakshuka altogether. Service was great though! I would only eat here again if I were staying at The Kimpton again. read more

I was really wanting an elevated meal so when I saw a server in a really chic uniform/apron I asked where she was coming from, and I am so glad I did. My only regret was not having a large enough stomach or a friend to share more food with. I started with the hamachi crudo and when I say I almost picked up the bowl to drink the juice I am not joking. I asked for a spoon and demolished what was left. We arrived around 5 PM, just as the place opened, and were warmly greeted by the manager, who led us to our table. The service was excellent, and since it wasn't busy, the ambiance felt relaxing and peaceful--perfect for a nice meal without distractions. We started with the deviled eggs, which our server highly recommended, and they did not disappoint--well-balanced and delicious. For my main course, I chose the catch of the day, while my husband opted for a steak. I found the steak a bit tough, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. We also shared a chocolate dessert and coffee to finish off our meal. One small downside was that the server didn't offer sugar with my coffee. I prefer a bit of sweetness, even after dessert. We tried Finch & Fork a number of times for in room dining while staying at the Kimpton Canary hotel. 1) Fried chicken dinner - the crust on the chicken was VERY crunchy, but for me the chicken was a little over salted. The mash potatoes and broccolini paired very well with the chicken. 2) Short rib & sweet potato hash - loved this. I loved it so much I tried to order it again on a weekday but it wasn't available. The short ribs were nice cubes and not shredded. The brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes were cooked evenly, and everything was coated in a nice sauce. The only thing missing was a side of toast for me to sop it up with. 3) French toast - we had this with a side of bacon, sausage, and egg. Everything came separately wrapped and cooked just as we asked. 4) Eggs benedict - eggs were poached well, and the English muffin was buttered and toasted (or grilled?). Had a reservation and were seated on time. However, service was slow and our server didn't really check on us except when he was bringing parts of our order to the table. I had to ask for water and took quite awhile to get it. I asked for salmon with my avocado toast and it came without. The server then said it must be on the side and went to get it....its fine but I've never added a protein to a meal when ordering only to have it left to me to put it on my dish. Made me think they forgot and just brought some out when I asked. My cappuccino was basic, nothing special, milk foam wasn't even warm on top. My husband's coffee on the other hand was very hot and the mug didn't insulate well...it was very hot to the touch. He usually drinks his coffee very hot and still felt the mug would be a burn risk. I do think that a couple of the other servers seemed more attentive and perhaps our experience would have been improved with one of them. The lemon pancakes were delicious and the subtle lemon flavor didn't scare my picky kids off :) overall, would go back given the quality of the food but would hope for more attentive service. read more

I want to start by saying that this restaurant is in an AMAZING hotel, the Kimpton Canary Hotel. So this does not in any way reflect on the hotel or its staff - they are AWESOME. In fact, I am giving this 2 stars ONLY because the Maitre D was so gracious and attentive. Otherwise, 1 star for the food. Long story short, we hated (almost)everything. - Focaccia bread. This was a literal small loaf of bread (picture below), thick cut, doughy, not at all like any other focaccia bread I've ever had. We ate one slice between us. - Kale Salad. My wife burst into laughter when it was served. See picture. It was a pound of kale, a drizzle of dressing, and a handful of nuts and raisins tossed on top. The pieces of kale were giant, so she had to take a knife and fork to it. Maybe ate 10% of it. - Dan Dan Noodles. Overcooked, the noodles were mush, the taste was weird, everything was soggy. Inedible. We both had one bite. - Kung Pao Cauliflower. This was the only dish that was ok, but again, we maybe ate half of it. - Curry Mussels. Interesting take on mussels, which is why we took a flyer on it, and it would have been fine (curry was good), but the mussels were overcooked and old. The meat on most was shrunk to a pea size, and the ones that weren't tasted spoiled. Mussel fans know what I'm talking about. Also disappointing was the fact that at most high end restaurants, if your guest tells you they are done and they have barely eaten anything, you ask them if everything was done to their satisfaction, and offer to replace the item with another or remove it from the bill. There was none of that. With no drinks, the bill came to $120, and we ate so little we ate again later at The Habit down the street. We also had a $60 breakfast credit from booking our stay through Chase, so we had breakfast there the next morning. Big mistake. We both had the Egg Benedict, and again the egg wasn't served on an english muffin but a big sliced loaf of thick break that just tasted like nothing. Neither of us had more than a bite of it. $24 each, so not worth it. We ate so little we went to a coffee shop after for pastries. While I can't say enough good things about the hotel itself and its staff, especially the Maitre D, they need to change chefs. read more

I enjoyed my brunch at Finch & Fork. One of the reasons why I chose this place was for their rooftop dining. When I made reservations on OpenTable, I was confused at the seating options. I tried calling, but no one picked up and frankly my friend and I wanted to try this place anyway. The rooftop dining was only during the height of the pandemic. The dining room is now only by the lobby. The decor is nice. Definitely shows that it's a hotel restaurant. But service was very nice and we got our food quickly. I got the shakshuka, and it was yummy. The eggs were nicely poached - the yolk was runny and added a richness to the spicy tomato sauce. I like the chucks of avocado. The bread with the tomato sauce, egg yolk, and avocado was the perfect bite. Many patrons took advantage of their bottomless mimosa deal, and I think that's the biggest draw. I ordered coffee and that was nice on a cool Fiesta morning. I think this is a nice place to dine if you're staring at the hotel. Otherwise, as someone who frequents Santa Barbara, I might not go out of my way to dine here. The menu has mostly a standard brunch fare. And maybe there's standout dishes their dinner menu. This place is really nice located inside inside the Kimpton Canary hotel. Came here with my husband, son, and MIL. There is a parking structure close by with others not that far which is nice so you don't feel obligated to do their valet. We went early in the AM for breakfast so there was hardly any one there. We like enjoy it when it's nice and quiet especially since we have a toddler. The waiter who attended us was very nice and helpful. He greeted us and walked us to our table right away. He was always attentive which was nice. Everything we got looked so good and also tasted really good. Food we all got was: 1. Eggs Benedict 2. French toast 3. Went here recently with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday because we have been multiple times before and she expressed this was one of her favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Specifically the Brussels Sprouts! Sadly, the Brussels sprouts were no longer on the menu as they were our favorite dish, gone. We ordered quite a bit of things and enjoyed the night because everything was good! We ordered the deviled eggs, which were small and nothing too crazy, but a good option to share for the table! We also ordered the kung pao cauliflower. Now this dish, took us all by complete surprise and quite honestly, stole the show for the whole night. We legit ended up ordering 3 in total because of how good these were. The sauce, the crunch on the cauliflower, the little spice backed by sweet, this was some bomb cauliflower. Would ABSOLUTELY come back just for this dish truly. We all would! The Tomato Veloute, Pork Chop, Short Rib Pappardelle, Scallops and Catch of the Day were all very tasty and good options! Oysters are amazing. A great amount of liquor in them! My only suggestion would definitely be the broccolini. We each took 1-2 bites, just not good. It barely had any flavor and almost tasted like it was undercooked. Would not recommend it, but definitely does not overshadow the rest of the phenomenal dishes. My friend and I picked this spot because we liked the name. It sounded interesting! After we found parking in the nearby garage, we were excited to try some great brunch food. Food Beef hash is a stew with cubed sweet potatoes. The eggs on top really added more flavor dimension to the beef hash. The lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious. This place has great service and their burger was one of my top fav burgers from burger week (out of the 10 burgers I've tried so far). The Cuban Frita burger was not too heavy and I liked the flavor of their sauce. It is also interesting they chose to do a beef vs pork chorizo (wife doesn't like pork) and it worked well. What a wonderful experience! The manager Robert greeted my husband and myself for our lunch reservation in such a warm and humorous manner. We truly enjoyed how on top of everything the staff was and felt very accommodated. The food was EXCELLENT. We both were starving and had the poblano burgers and salad, and honestly, some of the best food we've ever had. The restaurant was well designed, perfect level of noise, and a great experience overall. Robert even ran out to hand back my husband his sunglasses when he accidentally left them. What a gentleman!!
