They are renowned for their vibrant flavors, bold spices, and diverse dishes catering to all tastes using ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, garlic, and cilantro. Authentic Mexican food is more than tacos and salsa. The Garden State is hailed as one of the most diverse states when it comes to food, hosting some of the best Mexican restaurants on the East Coast. Whether one desires a quick taco or a full-course meal, my friends and I were craving rich and bold tastes from Mexico and decided on this family-owned establishment for an early Cinco de Mayo dinner. The reservation was easily made by calling Mariachi Grill, located on Ridge Road in Lyndhurst. Upon arrival at this popular spot to locals, with its cozy and casual interior decked out in traditional Mexican vibes, we were greeted by the staff and immediately got a table by the entrance, but they also have outdoor dining, weather permitting. The menu selection is much smaller than at other restaurants. We decided on the Cheese Enchiladas, Beef Enchiladas, California Burrito, Beef Burrito, Chicken Fries with Fries, and Shrimp Fajitas. Some meals are accompanied with a small portion of rice and black beans. Complimentary house chips and salsa started our meal. As the restaurant is working on their liquor license, it's BYOB. One can bring your own tequila or wine, and the staff will mix it with their sangria or margarita mixes. We washed our meal down with a pitcher of sangria. The presentation was very good. The food was made incredibly fresh, well seasoned, deliciously tasty, and generous. The price was very reasonable for the area. Our server Lisa with her outgoing personality and her desire to make our visit enjoyable, which we didn't feel rushed. Good experience overall, which we can recommend.

Guac wasn't made table side due to space and saving time but it was still prepared well. The service was great and we did not feel rushed r all. Margaritas and drinks here are even better. I just have mixed feelings about the prices. I understand the location is elite. It's a beautiful view, but for the prices they are charging, they should be giving more food. Three small steak tacos with no sides are $30. I got mole enchiladas and it only came with two. My food also came out with in 5 min, it tasted great but that was a little off putting. I burnt my mouth taking my first bite and I felt like I had no time to enjoy my drink. I also noticed everyone else around me got complimentary chips and salsa, but I didn't. That bothered me. Appetizers are at entree prices.. or family style. The guacamole alone is $30, table aide, but still...It just feels really steep and unessecary with the popularity of this place. It's great they have valet available as this area is difficult to find parking. Outside seating is closed at the moment, I asked when it will be available but there's no eta and that sucks because it's a main perk of this location. One entree and two drinks came out to $80. I'm giving 4 star because the food and drinks ARE GOOD. But my entire experience was really closer to a 3 and I'm really not planning on coming back unless it's a special occasion considering this last experience. Which dissapoints me because as a local I'd like to have this spot be more accessible to me and not just tourists.

Not the restaurants fault. We ordered the Tacos Gobernador, ground beef (Picadillo) Burrito, the guacamole and chips, and the Cinnamon Honey Sopapillas. The burrito was delicious!! Excellent portion size for the price. We added bacon which gave it a really nice smokey flavor. No rice and no beans as requested. Wish there was more cheese! But it was good. We would order it again. It's a 9/10. The tacos are a 6/10. We orders them with the pork. Soft blue corn shell. Small amount of meat and onion with cilantro. Cilantro and onion fresh. Meat had good flavor. This dish is overpriced in our opinion. We would not get them again. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. We say 8/10. Wish it had jalapeños but I know they aren't for everyone and more cilantro! Otherwise, it's perfect. Chips are what you would expect. Crispy and not stale haha. We would get the guac again. The cinnamon honey sopapillas were good. Right amount of cinnamon and honey adds sweetness. Crispy and cinnomony! My first time trying them. I was told they are a 7/10. I like them.

Al Pastor amazing quality. The radish, lime, cilantro and onion, were all fresh fresh! Rice was ok. The salsas need some work. I really enjoyed the guajillo chilis but it was masked with a canned tomato taste. For the sauce I'm not sure which one that was but it was light red. It was tasty though but not what I was expecting. The green sauce, aguacate was great!! The tortillas, taste mild. They are too thick! Overall I really really enjoyed this meal. Great!

Upon arrival, it was not what I thought from reviews and pictures. Las Palmas was also listed as being open late, so I crossed the street to check it out. This was more in line with what I was thinking. Unfortunately, the posted hours are incorrect. Instead of having an hour to sit and be served, I had ten minutes to order take out. The interior was cute and I can imagine people here for a date or eating with the family. I decided to go with tacos. An order of fish and one birria. There are three tacos to an order for $16. I think that may be slightly costlier than nearby establishments, but not by much. I worried about the state my tacos because I had a ways to travel. But my concern was for naught. The bag and food were so considerately packed, nothing spilled. Including the consommé in a cup for the birria. Having the first fish taco, made me instantly decide I want to try this hot and fresh! It has a heaping serving of pico and a slice of avocado on top. My one complaint is that I needed more fish. Not sure if that's an accurate grumble or just me being late night hungry/greedy. I warmed the consommé a little before dipping the tacos. The onion and cilantro taste was perfect. The meat was well seasoned and melty good. Not fatty or tough like other birria I've had. I would absolutely return to this spot and try more of the menu
