This is my second time eating here. Its a really cool place. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It is kinda hard to find. So slow down when your in the area or else you will pass it. Been here twice now for breakfast burritos. The first time was solid, closer to a 5 star review. This time around, the burritos are just okay. Both the chorizo and bacon breakfast burritos had very minimal of both chorizo or bacon. They were both more heavily egg burritos, which is incredibly disappointing considering I am NOT going to restaurant, especially a MEXICAN restaurant, for their eggs... will give them a third chance, but unfortunately, if you are looking for a solid breakfast burrito in the area, you have a 50% chance of it being a really good or subpar burrito. Considering how many Mexican restaurants are in the area, not sure if the gamble is worth it. read more

My boyfriend woke up wanting Mexican food for breakfast and decided on this place because my daughter's name is Sol. What a great choice, the ambiance!! The staff was great, they have beautiful art work all over the place, it's such a treat just to see the inside! And the music, this place is pure perfection! We got 2 burritos, a steak egg and cheese (con papas) and a chorizo burrito as well as a Plato de chorizo. So, while we were ordering (you order and pay before sitting), this guy walked in without a mask and had the worst attitude about being asked to wear a mask because this establishment still requires you wear one upon entering and the ladies handled his nastiness so well! Anyway, back to the amazingness that was this place, our food arrived so fast!! We also got their aguas frescas; agua de sandía y agua de limón. They were so perfect! Tasted fresh and sweet but not overly sweetened. The burritos were great (I think their tortillas might be made in house, they still had flour residue), the size was big, I added cheese to my steak burrito and egg, to steak, to potato and cheese ratio was perfect. The meat is less like asada and more like cubed steak. The chorizo was so good, I liked that it wasn't super greasy like these tend to be. The chorizo plate was perfectly portioned and came with a flour tortilla. Can't wait to come back and try more of their food. The owner was also here checking on people, making sure everyone was satisfied, such great hospitality. Such a great experience and delicious Mexican food. It's so tricky eating Mexican food out when you're Mexican because we have certain expectations and this place met them all!! Don't forget to get the chips and salsa, too!! read more

This place is DELICIOUS!!! I love how they decorated it inside and the eating area is pretty nice too, where you can eat in peace and not have all the people who come in and out and ordering. The service was great and they were so nice, my son. Loved his breakfast burrito and me and my unborn baby loved our breakfast burrito as well. Their sauce is so good!! Great customer service, very current payment system, beautiful art everywhere, music going through the restaurant and a huge menu! The carne asada is so tender and the enchilada sauce for their enchilada style burrito is delicious! Their homemade red salsa is perfectly blended with a nice kick and their tortillas are fantastic. Only thing I'd say was lacking is the chorizo, it's good but I'm used to it homemade dripping with oil and spicy but theirs is clean and makes a burrito that's filling without bogging you don't if you want to have it during the middle of your work day. Prologue: My fiancee decided she wanted to go for brunch instead of our usual Saturday night dinner date. Her online review of restaurants serving breakfast and lunch in our area yielded this result along with several good reviews. The Plot: We shared the Huevos Rancheros Plate, a Breakfast Burrito (with ham, chorizo, and potatoes), and a Pumpkin Empanada. The Scene: Good, simple home-style dishes cooked to order is the best way to describe the items we tried. The portion sizes were decent, appropriate for breakfast, and sufficient to satisfy both of us (along with chips and salsa, as usual). I do like my eggs over easy with the yolks cooked as gently as possible, which was exactly how the Huevos Rancheros was prepared. The eggs were served on top of a crispy, fried tortilla that was easy to cut with a fork and covered with a very tasty green chili gravy. The plate also included the traditional beans and potatoes. My fiancee was completely satisfied with her burrito, which was prepared with plenty of the meats and a freshly made tortilla, and was a good vehicle for lots of chili sauce as well as a nice compliment for the Huevos Rancheros. The Rest of the Story: The restaurant was cozy, service was very friendly, and the prices were reasonable. For a decade, Filibertos has been my go-to for simple, large burritos that are close by, but since the new management, I have been craving a solid breakfast burrito.The kind owner of El Sol also happens to own El Zocalo (large sit down restaurant with amazing margaritas and mole in the heart of Downtown Chandler). I got 4 burritos TO-GO: Egg/Potato/Chorizo, Egg/Potato/Ham, Carne Asada (added potato/cheese/egg), and a Pollo Asado (reg). Quick Tips: -Hidden! Next to an auto body shop and across the street from Bosa donuts -INCREDIBLE Salsa. I wonder if they have a spicier option. Not only did we get a lot of salsa with our burritos to-go, El Sol SELLS their salsa at Safeway. -Cheese is NOT already included in the burritos (+$.50 each burrito) -1/2 the size of a Chipotle burrito, but very filling -Outstanding tortillas that you can buy -I have been here before for their tacos. Carne Asada was the best. -Cute bakery with inexpensive pasteries! Flavor 4/5 Even though I mooched a little of everyone's burritos, my Pollo Asada burrito ($7.65) was my absolute favorite. Carne Asada $7.65 (with added cheese, potato, and egg (came out to about $10)) was a little too subtle with the flavor. No exclusive breakfast option available. Salsa was necessary. Nevertheless, it was happily consumed. I prefer the taco version. Ham breakfast burrito $4.89 (with added cheese (+$.50)) was another wonderful option!! My second favorite!! My small grandma devoured the entire thing. Price 4.5/5 Prices start reasonable! But four burritos with add-ons almost broke $40. Surprisingly filling. Worth it!!!!! Service 4.5/5 One more cashier would have sufficed! Busy, but worth the wait :) I couldn't make the burrito last two meals, but these were some of the best!! Im shocked and flabbergasted at the other good reviews. This is probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had in Arizona. We came with high hopes. We walked in and everything looked cute and the food sounded good. We ordered and the front girl was friendly enough no issues with her. They have a small bar and one of the managers or owner's sons was sitting there with his girlfriend. The girl was sitting there giving everyone dirty looks when you walk in. An odd thing to put in a yelp review but maybe have the family eat on the side or in back... it was unsavory. So after the initial weirdness we order and get our food. The meat in my husband's chimichanga had an odd smell and after taste. He told me first and I thought maybe they added too much cumin. I tasted it and he was right. Then my tamale was made with maseca (corn meal) that tasted like not enough water was added or something. They were dry and grainy. Tamales should be made with fresh masa. The actual food seemed very low quality. The pictures are what we left. Just a cautionary tale to save your money. read more

Went for breakfast with a friend, local guy raised in the neighborhood. Ordered our huevos rancheros at the counter. Chips and salsa brought to the table. Really good fresh chips! Breakfast was perfect and delicious. Nice crispy corn tortilla, with the eggs and green chili on top. Creamy frijoles, and a hot home made flour tortilla. This place is delicious. The tortillas are so good - fresh, thin and exactly what fresh homemade tortillas taste like. Their salsa is also one of my favorite things here - my husband and I mainly buy the breakfast burritos, but we have gotten things like the chile quiles and huevos rancheros - also very good. Moved back to the valley recently from Denver and oddly enough I was having a tough time finding a breakfast burrito down here that was similar quality to my spot in Colorado. Found El Sol a couple weeks ago and it's definitely the best so far, over places like Los Taquitos and Original Burrito Co. Both of those places have good breakfast burritos, but not quite as good as El Sol in my opinion. I've had the sausage, egg, and potato breakfast burrito as well as the chorizo egg and potato. I have them add cheese and green sauce to the inside and they're very tasty. read more

Wow, we rolled up for breakfast, and were pleasantly surprised. My wife ordered a breakfast style burro with their green chile, and I asked if they had chilaquiles... WHICH THEY DID! Yeah, its not on their menu, but the chef will whip an order up for you. Their enchilada sauce perfectly complemented this dish. Their chips and salsa were tasty, and my wife's burro was delectable. Really, it was delectable. I'm not just repetitiously writing the word delectable for the hell of it. I'll be bringing the familia back to check them out for lunch, or maybe dinner fare. Well, whatever they did to the tortilla my perfectly cooked carne asada was on made it distinctive and amazing, and to be more specific, there was just the perfect balance between softness and texture-something I would usually only expect when eating cake. I've been meaning to write about this place and just got around to it today. There are so many other food items here that are delightful also, and since they open at 7 am, it would behoove you to visit in the morning and try their breakfast burritos one day. They are only open from 7 am-2pm, and that "only" I throw out there is by no means a passive aggressive complaint; rather, I only want to to give you a heads up," and mention that this place does more business than places twice the size. This place is nostalgic for me. I got a bean and cheese burrito with a side of rice. It tastes like the mom and pop shop back home, next to my grandmas house. She passed away last year and going here I wasn't sure how it was going to taste but I am so glad we went. The first bite was magical. So looking forward to going back. The service was also great.
