Has a hankering for a breakfast burrito and decided to try Arizona Burrito in Mesa. I was greeted promptly and warmly by the lovely cashier who was also taking drive through orders. She answered my questions about the different prices for breakfast burritos (the special one for $5.50 is a little smaller and no cheese or pico), so I opted for the regular ham / egg / cheese / pico burrito and wow! So good! Large, hot, fresh, and a wonderful salsa bar! The darker green salsa verde is perfectly spicy and I very much enjoyed this place. I also love that they have a vegan burrito that I'll come back for when I've got my plant based guy with me. Spacious dining room with seating not crowded at all. First time for a side of tacos absolutely amazing. The fish taco was OK as for the shrimp taco that was OK as well. Second time I went has the same things, but the toppings were all wrong. Third time the Carne Asada was amazing, but the other two tacos again at the wrong topping. Seems to be consistency is not their key but the Carne Asada tacos are worth the trip. read more

Great spot to stop in for a quick lunch. It's a way better version of Filiberto's. Which in my option fell off years ago. I know this spot has had a lot of turn around over the years but hopefully these guys are here to stay. The quality of food is delicious, served piping hot and has great flavor. Absolutely Horrible. I put in an online order. After placing the order, I called the restaurant to make sure there would be salsa as I put it under special instructions because there was no option to ask for salsa. I wanted to be sure that they would put in plenty of salsas. The guy on the phone said "we put salsa in every order regardless" I said ok, I just wanted to be sure, and also ask for a few extra. The order arrived and there was not even one singular salsa in the bag!!! Not one! I had a feeling this would happen, that's why I called to begin with!! I called back and told the same guy that there was not even one salsa in the bag..after I called to be sure there would be..his literal response was "My Bad" and hung up on me!!! The two other times I've been through the drive thru every single time they are RUDE to me and I've had horrible experiences each time! The ONLY reason I keep trying is because I love their salsa. But this was the last time FOR SURE! The salsa was honestly the only reason I even ordered, that's what made it even more upsetting! The burrito also arrived barely wrapped and coming out of the wrapper. They have the worst service of anywhere I have ever been. EVER. Quesabirria Tacos are straight fire. I grew up in San Diego since the 70s and I'm real picky about Mexican food. I'm basically vegetarian but every once in a while I want tacos lol and if there's anything gross about the meat I won't eat it..period. I dunno why I was shocked because the restaurant is clean and looks cool with their colors so maybe it's just the location I dunno but that's how it goes most of the time with good Mexican food you gotta find the good stuff in the hood lol I never thought to add lemon to the tacos before but that just took it up a notch man.. these things are FANTASTIC great flavors from the cheese the well seasoned meat the consommé the toppings so fresh and crispy absolutely banging. Best I've ever had and at 2 for $8 these are a steal. $13 and higher at San Diego restaurants like Mike's red tacos or Filiberto's which don't even come close to being as flavorful as these. The ladies working the drive thru are always so sweet and kind. I seen the Mesa PD eating here late at night. I DoorDash all night long and I can eat anywhere in this entire valley from Globe to Cave Creek Payson to Queen Creek and I choose Arizona Burrito over everything. 24/7 drive thru and $5 breakfast burritos after 6am Don't sleep on this absolute legend Mexican food. Been there twice on the way to work for a breakfast burrito. I have ordered the chorizo egg and cheese as well as the carne asada. Both were excellent and the price was right. The same guy at the drive up window both times, very friendly and grateful for my business. Came here with my wife for lunch today and we dined in. The food was hot, fresh and of good quality, however, it was very bland. Both of us agreed. Lastly, the plastic utensils they give you for dine in are basically useless. Here's the lowdown on the carne asada burrito I mentioned in my first review. I did go back recently and order a carne asada burrito. I'm sad to report that the same meat is used in both burritos. I detected no difference between the steak breakfast burrito and the standard carne asada burrito. This place started out under a different name. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. First of all, the building they made it way better than it was before, it's still the same old building and they kept a lot of the great things about it. The reason I liked the original was not only was it just good solid Mexican food, it's priced very well. This remain the only place that I can get a decent bean and cheese burrito for less than $5! Absolutely amazing. Today I got the breakfast "potato, egg, and cheese" with bean burrito. The tortilla is solid, no complaints. First bite was good, plenty of cheese! Was warmed all the way through and all the cheese was melted. Beans had great flavor and texture as well as the eggs, potatoes were well seasoned and cooked right.overall great burrito (less than $10) and it's huge. Service was a little lack luster, but not gonna expect a crazy service experience for counter service. They got the order right, they got me the order quick, so the important stuff was done right.
