While on a long drive from Northern California to Southern California, we stopped in Bakersfield to fuel up our vehicle as well as ourselves. I looked for highly rated tacos in the area in anticipation for more great Mexican food to come in San Diego. This place was rated fairly well by what sounded like locals and regulars so we decided to give it a try. I was very confused to find out that this was attached to a car dealership. Honestly, it's genius. I wish that the dealership I get my vehicle serviced at had a Taqueria attached to it. Well, I'd likely go to a dealership more often, but that's besides the point. We noticed many of the employees stopping in to grab a quick bite which was encouraging to see because it likely meant that they've tried it before and we're willing to eat there again. The inside is fairly bare bones, but it's kept clean and organized. Again, this is a Taqueria attached to a dealership so I have no idea what I was expecting anyway. I placed my order for some Birria tacos and a side of consume. It took about 15 minutes for it to come out but when it did, it was piping hot. The consume was good and had decent flavor, but it was thinner than I'm used to. The tacos themselves also had good flavor, but somehow felt lighter than typical Birria tacos. This could be a good thing if you're watching your waistline but it's just not what I think of when I'm ordering Birria. Overall, I'm glad we stopped by for the unique experience, but I couldn't really say that I would drive out of my way to come back. It's above average, but only marginally. Good for when you're hungry and close by but it may not blow your socks off.

An unexpected stop when I first brought my car to the local Toyota service department. Even more unexpected was how good the food is. I got the birria street taco plate and the first bite of the tacos brought tears to my eyes, literally not figuratively. Everything was made fresh and came out tasty, I might need to take my car in more often. The atmosphere is relaxed and there's a good amount of seating with light foot traffic. Madysen was very helpful and made me feel welcome, a rarity in my few outings. The service was excellent and I left wanting for nothing. I'll be back, El Taco Rojo!

If you're craving bold flavors and fresh ingredients, El Taco Rojo is the place to be. Every taco bursts with authentic taste, from slow-cooked meats to vibrant salsas made daily. Especially the habanero. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in with friends, this spot brings serious flavor and laid-back vibes. Kind of odd location but it works.

Good service and very convenient being inside the Bill WrightToyota service center. Food is good and Birra is their specialty and definitely recommend it.

food is meh. they give you chips and salsa for a review. ratings are fake and inflated.

Still searching for the best breakfast burrito in Bakersfield. So today I visited El Taco Rojo while I was waiting for my car to be serviced. I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito; eggs, potatoes, sausage, and cheese w/ green salsa on the side. I was hopeful. Unfortunately ETR wasn't it. It was a decent size burrito for $10, but honestly nothing special. Alfonso's still holds the title of best breakfast burrito, IMO.

Great food, the quesatacos are on point 10/10 I'm glad I had a chance to eat here today.

When we plugged El Taco Rojo into our gps and it took us to an auto mall we were super confused so don't worry when you pull up to Toyota, you are in the right place. I ordered a chicken burrito and added avocado for $1 (what a steal, I'll gladly pay $1 for avocado) . My husband ordered the taco Tuesday Quesatacos deal with a side of consome for $9.50. Overall, my burrito was good but there was almost too much rice to meat ratio. My husband's tacos were delicious but make sure you eat them fast. Birra is notorious for getting soggy very quickly. Although this was my first time seeing a restaurant in an auto mall I think it's genius.

I came in with my kiddos and I was struggling to pick something out. The cashier was very kind and recommended the child entrees by popularity. The kids loved the see through display case and right away picked their dessert too. They loved the vibrant music that they have a very clean facility. If you haven't tried their cafe de olla. It's the best in town.

This spot has great food and service. Solid choice for some great birria. Get the chili oil/salsa negra to really spice it up.

Mediocre. The tacos are cheap and it shows. There was barely any meat on them and had one tortilla. They were falling apart. :(

A Delicious Stop After the Farmer's Market!…read more Stopped by Mas Bella after the farmer's market and had such a great meal! We started with three drinks: the Tullum Bloom, Strawberry Margarita, and Strawberry Lemon Drop. All three were delightfully fruity and refreshing, making it hard to pick a favorite! For food, we ordered the birria bao buns, shrimp bao bun, chile relleno, crispy beef taco with refried beans and rice, and camarones with refried beans and soft tortillas. The birria bao bun was my absolute favorite! The mini bao is packed with flavorful birria, and I absolutely loved the consommé they serve alongside it for dipping. It's such a fun combination, and that consommé takes the bao to another level. I also really enjoyed that they make their salsas in-house. They served both a verde and a roasted red salsa with the buns, and both were delicious. The chile relleno was another standout. That melted, cheesy goodness inside was everything you want from a chile relleno! The crispy beef taco was an unexpected winner. It was served with what seemed to be the same delicious birria-style beef, so it was instantly a favorite. The crispy shell paired perfectly with the tender, flavorful meat. The camarones with soft tortillas were also really good. The shrimp were well seasoned, and the soft tortillas made them perfect for building little tacos.

I had been bragging to my friends about how delicious the Bao Bun Tacos were and unfortunately they were out of the bao buns. I ordered the Tulum Bloom cocktail which I had in a prior visit but was disappointed. The cocktail was not as flavorful as the first time, it was presented in a plain glass with no floating flower. The first time I had it it was so beautiful in its presentation and delicious. Sadly not this time. Dimas, our server was great, the food good, but I was so looking forward to the Bai Bun Tacos.

I couldn't really taste the difference between the Paloma and the margarita ‍. The place is decorated really nice but what they should've focused on was making agood food. Shrimp skewers I was told was okay but even that had more veggies than actual shrimps. The rice wasn't cooked all the way. The presentation on nachos was excellent but the nachos were gross. No flavor in guacamole. Beans were plain beans bland af. The chicken wasn't seasoned and had an awful charbroiled taste, just awful! The salsa weren't spicy or tasty. Both drinks and entree (it was actually a shareable plate) tasted great but the salsa that came with the chips was a bit ordinary with no spice. Another staff member brought out two more salsas and jalepenos torneados. These salsas had more bite to them.
