Located in the parking lot of a hotel, this new building popped up a year or so ago and two chains (Fusian, Noodles and Company) moved in and closed within a month. And so the new building sat until this place magically opened. I hope they can make it in this odd location. The parking is confusing. It IS free but in a paid lot. Not well signed. We park close to the restaurant and so far, so good. Anyways, this is the best Mexican in the area. It's a blend of your typical Mexican restaurant you can find all over with Americanized quesadillas and fajitas. But then they also have tortas, Mexican style tacos, plenty of things to try. I never order fajitas but they were reasonably priced and I went for it. The chipotle chicken was especially good with a tasty sauce and you get all the toppings. Fresh and delicious. Best queso. Husband loved the tacos as well. Even the table salsa has a better kick and flavor than the standard fare. One of the best Mexican restaurant Ive tried so far, the food was great. Id recommend the fish Burrito, it's not on the menu but if you ask they will make it. Also the shrimp quesadillas and shrimp in devil sauce extremely spicy if spicy is your thing you will love it. The restaurant is very accommodating, it's a owner operated place. The tacos are too small. Hardly any fish on the fish tacos. Seriously, one measly tiny piece of fish on each taco. Definitely not worth almost $4 a taco..... more like $1.25 per taco is probably more appropriate. All three pieces of fish off the three tacos could have all been combined into one taco, that's how small and measly they were..... they top them with only onion, cilantro, and a round piece of radicchio. I should have taken a pic to post so y'all can see what I'm talking about. The tacos could be good if they gave you more meat. The side of rice was not good either as the rice was dry, hard and crunchy in spots. I ordered 3 fish tacos and a side of rice and two sodas and my bill was $22 something.... They charge like $3.99 per taco, $3 something for the rice, and the fountain pop is over $3 as well so it can add up and start to get pricey. Probably won't be back. read more

My son and I decided to eat here after a long day of driving. We were greeted warmly, seated immediately, and had our drinks so quickly! The salsa was wonderful; it reminded us of one ofour favorite Mexican restaurants (now closed). We ordered our meals: chicken fajitas, shrimp chimichanga, and guacamole. The guacamole had wonderful flavor and just the right amount of spice. Our food was served piping hot, and it was plentiful. It also came out very quickly. We were back in our hotel room less than an hour after walking to dinner. We really enjoyed our meal and will likely be back if he makes UC his university home! read more

My girlfriend and I order from here really often because it's convenient and nearby. We order the queso and salsa a lot which is solid for a takeout option. They also have good happy hour deals for both beer and margaritas. However, outside of that, most of the dishes are pretty similar without a lot of variety or flavors that stand out. Overall it's a nice place to grab takeout that's quick and has nice service but it isn't anything super special. read more

Surprisingly good! When we entered the restaurant, I thought this place was more of a fast food Mexican restaurant. It does have a nice sit down area as well and we received table service for our meal. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Each entree was about $8-10. The food was comparable to other sit down Mexican restaurants and I think you can also get food to go very easily here. The parking is a little confusing at this establishment because the parking lot appears to belong to the hotel next door. To park here (it's posted on the doors if I'm incorrect), you must go to the parking toll and press 5 then 2 to get a ticket for parking at the restaurant. read more

We have been looking for a new place to eat that was close to the zoo and was pleasantly surprised with TEV. They have free off-street parking and several TVs in the mid-sized dinning area. The wait staff is very friendly and service is lightning quick. The menu is very easy on the wallet, with the usual suspects you find at an American Mexican joint. What's not so usual, is they actually have authentic Mexican street food on the menu(as well as common American mash-ups) Here's what we had... Taco's Al Pastor $7 Tons of perfectly spiced pork atop house made tortillas served with a warm Salsa Verde. Grade: A- Nachos Carbon $11 HUGE portion with tons of steak, chicken and shrimp. Topped with queso and pico. Grade: B Huevos Rancheros $8 Eggs were cooked flawlessly(over easy) and the ranchero sauce is incredible. My only complaint is they are served with flour tortillas not corn. Grade: A Top shelf Margarita pitcher $22 The margaritas are delicious and certainly not weak, a bargain that price. Was staying next door In the hotel that shares the parking lot and was getting hungry so decided to try this place out. Was very surprised how good the food was. Had the chimichanga and was very good. One of the best parts was the cheese that covered the refried beans. Made them so much better. Great food at a reasonable price. I called in an order, they said 10 minutes and it was ready...in 10 minutes. Chicken burrito is bigger than some of the chains, and just as good if not better. Chicken nachos were also delicious. You have to park in back, which is a little confusing (not the restaurant's fault, just mentioning it). We stopped here not expecting much but discovered an very affordable authentic Mexican experience. The chicken quesadilla and the shredded beef enchilada was unreal! Get an extra side of rice with your meal too! The bathrooms were clean and the large house margarita was out of this world( on the rocks). The only negativity was that they had minimal wait staff. However, the waiter was still plenty attentive to our drinks and chips. 100% recommend. read more

I walked here for lunch during the week and I wasn't that impressed. I ordered a veggie and fish taco and my order took about 20 min even though it was after the lunch rush. Both tacos weren't seasoned and because they didn't include any salsas in the bag, I couldn't add at least some spice to it so they were very bland. The fish was a bit overcooked as well. Tbh, I have yet to find an authentic MX taqueria in Cincy...but I also moved here from Chicago. It seems all the places cater to the non spicy, un or under seasoned Midwest pallet. Bummer. read more

First let me say that I'm comparing this five-star review to the three-and-a-half that I'd give to Cancun, the franchise chain that dominates Cincinnati, and that I'm giving them some minor allowance for this being their essentially 'soft opening.' They are no match for a place like Freda in Covington for example. This all said, they sit in the epicenter of a semi-desert for basic Mexican food, such that you can find burrito places galore all over the Ludlow corridor, and the Calhoun/McMillain strip, and of course Chipotle is two blocks away from my home, also on MLK. But this place took over the old Noodles Incorporated locale that had been empty for around a year and really it's a good fit. Highlights? The tea is quite good and fresh brewed. The rice accompaniment isn't your usual Spanish rice, it's white rice with some veggies in it, plus they grill it at the end. The prices are quite modest too, I got a modest T-bone with eggs and chorizo plus rice with white cheese over everything for sixteen dollars, so very reasonable. They have a Sangria margarita that's homemade but they still hadn't sourced a couple ingredients yet. The large regular frozen margarita isn't as strong or as large as Cancun, just so you know, and it appears to be from a Slurpee machine. Sadly though, the tortilla chips were either stale or just of subpar quality. That said, lots of Mexican places (especially Cancun) are watering down their white cheese dip appetizer that accompanies the free tortilla chips, but these people haven't caught on to that clever cheese-saving tactic just yet. Word on the street is that the local queso magnate, Mr. 'Big Cheese' is jacking up the price of his wares and forcing hard-up restaurants to scrimp on the white cheese in their appetizers, so maybe they're trying to build customer loyalty here with premium sauce. As for the salsa, there wasn't anything especially for or against it, pretty much of acceptable quality. Would definitely eat here again and recommend it. read more

Tasty, affordable laid back restaurant. We were staying in the hotel across the parking lot and took a chance. I had three tacos, carnitas, al pastor and barbacoa, each was loaded with meat and very flavorful. My wife got the fajitas that come in a grilled pineapple and left with more than half, also very tasty. My oldest daughter had a pork burrito and enjoyed it. The two little ones each had a kids platter, one a taco and the other, chicken fingers(there's always one), no complaints all around. Service was great and very friendly. It's a shame it's 9 hours away, they'd be a regular stop if I lived out here! read more

Another great Mexican restaurant to add to my list of favorites! Does not have the typical atmosphere of a Mexican style restaurant, but their food won me over. I enjoyed the chori pollo very much! I would recommend it to anyone that loves chicken and chorizo. The service was also very fast.
