They have such cute drinks! I just got pineapple juice but my friends got their coconut drink and mojito and said it was to die for! They give you these plantain chips to snack on and they are so good! It's got a sweet, salty, and crunchy chip texture to it. For an appetizer, we got a sampler which had ropa vieja, plantains, empanadas, shredded pork, and some large fried potatoes. I loved that so you get to try a little bit of everything. The ropa vieja tasted just like grandmas. They use ropa vieja as the filling in the empanadas. The fried potato's was steak fry cut style. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just how a perfect fry should taste! Everyone really liked the vaca frita! I think that's a must try! It's shredded beef marinated in this delicious citrus marinate. They fry it afterwards so it's pull apart, melt in your mount soft, with a nice crispy crunch to it. I think this is a must get dish. The desserts were delicious too! The flan was perfectly soft and creamy. The tres leches was delicious as well. This is a great place to have some good Cuban and enjoy a beautiful night out in Miami!

First of all the nachos we got were gross and the cheese tasted very low quality. The nachos were very poorly put together and the toppings tasted stale. There were no vegetarian options on the menu which was extremely surprising and disappointing. There were items in the kids menu though, so I wanted to order that and was not allowed to. I was even fine with being charged more than the usual kids price but I was refused that option as well. This was extremely infuriating and all I was able to eat were side dishes. The beans and rice and mashed potatoes also tasted stale and were expensive for no reason. The servers and managers were not accommodating to me whatsoever and didn't even try to offer me alternatives or take my suggestions. and I was humiliated and frustrated and overcharged and still left hungry by the end. Very very disappointed in this place

Our favorite time to visit is Sunday brunch, especially since they have a special menu. We recently came for Father's Day, and even though Julio was celebrating as a father himself, he was working incredibly hard to make sure every guest had a great experience. You can really see how much heart and dedication he pours into his business. As expected on Father's Day, there was a bit of a wait, especially since we were a larger party, but none of us minded. To thank us for our patience, Julio generously brought out croquetas for the table on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I can't recommend Trigo Café enough. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home. While brunch is our favorite, their lunch and dinner are just as great, and the new tapas and wine area they recently added is a fantastic addition. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

I stopped by after the lunch rush to have a hialeah heat sandwich was the perfect version of typical cuban sandwich with a kick. I loved the touch of spicy in my sandwich. I also had a cafe bom bom that was really good. Loved the condensed milk. The girl who served me was very attentive to me when I visited and helped me with any questions i had; made me feel very welcomed. When i couldn't finish my coffee she packed it up for me in a to go cup.

Although I'm no where near perfect I still needed a little help from Google translate lol my chicken plwte was very flavorful. I also ordered boiled yucca that came late so not in the pictures. My sister had the bistec and fell in love with it. Unfortunately I didn't like the churros at all. I think the dough was possibly old because it tasted off. I've never had a churro that I never liked. I think I may have caught them on a bad day. The servers were okay. Not too friendly but maybe they were tired. Restaurant was pretty clean and very casual.

We went for lunch and the owner helped us arrange a table for 7 immediately. Our waitress was so helpful and patient with us. We came specifically for La fritas cubana and it was terrific. Just like I remembered it as a kid. We also ordered the mariquitas which came with garlic sauce. That sauce is homemade and delicious. Also I picked up a sugar cane juice "guarapo". Why not? :). My coworkers loved it and I'm sure you'll love it too. They have a great menu with authentic Cuban cuisine and prices are great.
