Birria quesas. I'd already inhaled one before I took the pic
    Michel H.

The MOST delicious birria quesas I've ever had! So full of meat and cheese and the birria broth was perfectly flavored. I NEVER rave, but I'm raving about this place! Service from Marcie was superb and so friendly, the vibe is cool but not forced, and the food was so fresh and hot.

We went for a late lunch and we were seated briskly. The waitress took our drink orders and I asked for chips & salsa. They are $2.95 with one free refill. The drinks & chips came quickly and our orders were taken. It was a normal wait time for food but we did not see the waitress again until food was delivered. We had to ask for drink refills but no offer was made for the free refill. She came back to the table once more to ask if we wanted our bill and did offer the refill at that time. I had shrimp tostados and my husband had taco salad. Ambience was your typical Mexican decor. The restaurant is in a small strip mall on a busy street. We are from out of town so I don't think this is someplace I would eat again.

    Birria Quesa Taco Dinner

This was our first time eating at El Taquero today for lunch. Walking into the restaurant we were met with smiling faces greeting us as we walked in. A great atmosphere for a smaller Mexican restaurant. Very clean and organized with great big booths to seat your whole family. Our waitress was excellent giving us top notch service. All the food we ordered came out fast and piping hot. The birria quesa taco dinner, was delicious and was the most popular among the table. Even the Horchata has great taste. However the only negative that we found is the chips and salsa do not come with the meal. You have to pay a small amount to add the chips and salsa. Besides paying for the chips and salsa all the prices were very good prices and we are excited to come back and try more amazing dishes!

Let's get right into it. The bar sales are all final because if you get the alcohol drinks like tamarind or mango they mix it with tap water for whatever reason not known to mankind that'll linger in your taste buds and it'll be very noticeable that you'd be bound to ask for a refund or a replacement non alcoholic drink and those are so full of sugar that you opt-out quenching your thirst. My drinks literally tasted like sewer water darn near. My fajita was so-so could've stand to be more authentically flavored. And oddly, the only Mexican restaurant I have been to cross country that serves no compliment Chips and Salsa. Most likely won't be going back and hoping they invest in filter water.

This time around my husband and I both got the birria quesa taco dinner, our server was great and attentive. Luckily we came in at a time where it wasn't too busy so we were able to take our time. Love coming here for real authentic Mexican food!!

You wanna try the hit craze of the birria tacos, come here! This place is so tasty I felt like I was in heaven when eating their tacos. Their elote is also amazing! Glad they put it in a huge cup where you can actually enjoy big spoon fulls of every bite. Everything was so delicious. I'm just glad that I was able to check out a new restaurant in town. We will be back.

    Birra quesa tacos. VERY bland.

I wanted to love this place so badly. I really did! Let's start with the queso. It tasted like melted American cheese and hardly anything else. How do you mess up queso?! The salsa was just okay. I ordered from this place to try their delicious looking birra quesa tacos. I was SOOOOOO disappointed. They were incredibly bland. The consommé they give you to dip them in, tastes like a bowl of grease. Zero flavor. The tortillas just tasted like grease as well. Unflavored grease. From what I hear, the carne asada tacos are really good. So I'll try those next time I suppose.

Their website said that they had manudo, but when I went there, they did not have manudo! But the salsa tacos wete good. Margaritas were weak, though and no room for parking!

I took a quick look at the Yelp reviews and decided to order carry out for lunch. I ordered a chimichanga with tofu, and a side of queso blanco. It isn't often that I see tofu on the menu at a Mexican restaurant so I was curious about it. It was excellent! The queso blanco was smooth and creamy with great flavor. The rice was flavorful but the beans were very salty. There are many vegetarian options here, more than most Mexican restaurants. The patio is large and beautiful. There were many people taking advantage of this warm and sunny early spring afternoon dining on the patio. The patio features approximately 20 tables, including several larger tables. Although I took my order to go this time I will plan to return with a group of friends to enjoy dining on the patio.

It was quite evident that whomever cared for the little things: the tortilla chips were warm and the salsa had not been hastily made and allowed the seasoning to do its job. Our, server, Guillermo, was polite, attentive and made sure our order fit our needs. To our surprise, the portions were generous. In our minds, Tequila will now be our "go to" place for Mexican food when we visit Ft. Wayne.

As an avid lover of Mexican food, my boyfriend has been searching high and low for a place that he can frequent for a good meal. After trying a few other places, we decided to try Mi Parrilla on a whim after a long day at the local zoo. We walked into a lively interior, with ample seating and comfortable booths. Our waitress was friendly and prompt with checking on us before and after we ordered, and we were quickly settled in while waiting for our meals. I haven't had a lot of experience with Mexican cuisine, but I love birria and wanted to try that here; as for my boyfriend, he got a chimichanga. We were immediately impressed at the portion sizes when the food came out - everything looked amazing! And honestly, these are the best I've had so far. They were crisp, filled with meat and cheese, and so flavorful. My partner was also very satisfied with his food, saying that this would probably become his favorite spot in town. We'll definitely come back to try more of their enormous menu!

This is easily one of the top Mexican joints in all of Fort Wayne. It's a huge restaurant that was surprisingly dead for lunch, granted it was a Monday. It's a nicely decorated place, the service was friendly and really fast (food was out in less than 10 minutes), and the food was simply awesome. Their chips and salsa are outstanding... I could literally drink the salsa. You get a ton of food for the lunch portion (way too much to eat in one setting), so I can only imagine the size of their dinner portions. $30 for lunch (2 people) is a steal in today's restaurant price-gouging times. CDM might be our new "go to" Mexican joint, and it's certainly our favorite on the NE side of town.

We sat there and looked around but no one stopped over. There was a 6 top, 3 top, and 4 top there. The restaurant was pretty empty. So we left and the hostess who sat us said "have a nice night, and I told her no one ever came over" The chips were fresh but that's all we received. The restaurant was dead and quiet. There was no reason no one waited on us.

Wow, very nice and also delicious. Their menu is amazing. Wide array of Mexican seafood dishes. They also have some non seafood options if needed. But when you see a seafood heavy menu at a restaurant, you *really* should get it. I focused on their new menu of shrimp dishes. They included head-on shrimp, in the shells. I wasn't sure I wanted to work for my meal and get messy. But damn, that Camarones al Cilantro (shrimp with cilantro) looked fantastic. I hemmed and hawed and decided I would order it along with some guacamole to get some vegetable material in me. When it came it was piping hot. Couldn't eat it, so focused on the guac for a bit. As the shrimp cooled I went to town on what may have been the messiest meal of my life. (Do NOT order unpeeled shrimp if you are on a first date or a job interview) Let me tell you - these shrimp were unbelievable. They were swimming in sauce and as I peeled them, i then dipped and chowed. The cilantro/chili/garlic? sauce was off the charts good. The onions and cucumber buried within it were also a nice discovery as I made my way through this mountain of a full pound of shrimp. It took a while and the sauce dripped down to my elbows at times. It was a caveman eating experience and it was probably the best Mexican dish I have ever eaten. It was probably a good thing I was eating alone. I don't see any other way to eat this unless you're a psychopath crunching through shrimp shells. But leaving those shells on keeps the shrimp moist as they cook and more importantly it keeps the shrimp flavor from cooking off into the sauce. Shrimp with the shell on do taste better - they are not just being lazy here. This meal was great and I would love to go back if I'm driving through again. Thank you for this!
