In the mood for some good Mexican food, I decided to give Mi Pueblo a try, though I admit I took many of the excellent reviews wit a grain of salt. I lived nearly half my life in Arizona and California, eating some really good, very authentic Mex, so I'm a bit of a snob. Mi Pueblo did not disappoint! The interior is decorated in a colorful Mexican style which suggested its authenticity. The place does not have a bar area, which I prefer when eating alone, so I was shown to a booth that had seen better days. Also a plus; if the seats have been used and are a bit tired, I take that as a good sign. Though mid-afternoon, I decided a small Margarita couldn't hurt so I ordered a house on the rocks. It was a little better than OK but not stellar. On to the solid food. Chips and salsa were brought quickly by one of the kids working there. If the restaurant is a family business, that's another good sign. The chips were house-made and the salsa had just the right amount of bite ... for the average Indiana resident. I liked a bit more, but they had plenty of hot sauces they were happy to bring. I chose a Carne Asada taco and a Chili Relleno, my test of a Mexican restaurant. This one may well have been the best I have ever had. Ever. Stuffed with cheese, dipped in a fluffy egg batter, then deep fried, it came to my table piping hot with gooey cheese in abundance. Y el sabor (the flavor): muy delicioso, muy authentico. (You get the drift.) I believe they used a hatch pepper because it brought some good, but not overwhelming, heat. And they may have given a squeeze of lime as well, either before cooking or more likely before service. The taco was a typically tasty street taco, served with cilantro and onions. Satisfied, I headed out the door for a $20 bill, which included a fairly generous tip. Well worth stopping. If you've been a bit put off by the humble exterior, you're missing out! read more

The rice and beans had nice flavor. I ordered chiles rellenos and they were cold inside. My dish came with shrimp and they do not devein- this was an unpleasant surprise. If you're paying for shrimp prepared by a restaurant it should be thoroughly cleaned. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas and thought they had a nice flavor and heat. I don't know how many times I drove by this gem without giving it a chance and now I'm kicking myself for it. It's a no-frills kind of place, but the service was great and I couldn't stop thinking about the leftovers from the moment we left. The Parilla Mi Pueblo was basically a sampler platter with steak fajitas, shrimp, carnitas, chicken & chorizo, and a quesadilla. How can you say no to that?! The shrimp were fresh, the chicken was juicy, and the carnitas were so tender they fell apart. read more

Great authentic Mexican cuisine, with a great variety, good service. The Margaritas are awesome.

There are many times I've been to this establishment. Unfortunately today I had a hair in my food. Sat there for about 5 minutes and at that point just had a wasted appetite. I wasn't going to get the $5 off since my bill was discounted because of my meal but she still put it on the bill after I had asked her to. On the other side of things, food was hot! My daughters both liked their food. Hopefully next time we come through we can get can have the experience we usually do. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had. I did an online order and explicitly said no cheese because of my allergy to dairy. I then called and they said there is nothing they can do because it was shredded cheese and not cheese dip! This is very unprofessional and shows that the customer doesn't come first. I will never recommend or be going back. Be better and more empathetic to your customers! read more

Love the Food, love the servers... but they don't do the COVID social distancing very well. We visited last weekend, AFTER Indiana moved to Stage 5 of COVID rules. And they crowded everyone into the smaller dining area, table to table. The Level 5 plan still states: * "Social distancing required as a seating consideration" - and we were not as they filled in more tables right next to us. Typically food here is good. But we ordered take out a couple weeks ago during the flavor the fort event. We placed an order for 6 meals. They said it would be ready in 20min. We arrived at the 20 min mark. While we waited, we witnessed several people come in place and order and get their Togo order before we received ours, it took 45min to get our order. Then we get hime(we live 20-25 min away), we are missing a meal and missing all tortillas wraps. Attempted to call them, no answer. We had to do to our nearest grocery to buy tortillas, still trying to call them for an hour with zero response. Ended up writing them several emails no reply. I am done going there. There are plenty of other places to get good Mexican food. read more

Really love this place! Prices, food, and service are great. Our family went to eat here during Savor Fort Wayne, and we had one of the best experiences we've ever had eating out. The food came out quickly, it was delicious and hot. My children, each could find something they loved from the menu. To top it off, the prices were unbeatable! This restaurant has the handicap ramp BLOCKED. My wife tried the little ramp at the end of the building and ended up on her side in her wheelchair for half an hour. Had to call 911 to get help righting her wheelchair and getting her back in it. All they have to do is move a parking curb, they still have not done so. read more

Classic Menudo up in here. I dare you to find a better Classic Menudo in town. Known for Burrito's and Menudo up in here. Mi Pueblo 4 is a hit if you ask me. Good authentic Mexican food, Classic Menudo on the menu, it's authentic and pretty darn good. Place is off Jefferson by the car dealers, close to that Jefferson round curve around by the bridge. Location leaves a little to be desired, but if you live close by try that Classic Menudo. You could do worse. read more

We were seated right away on a Saturday night. Our service was good, there were only 2 servers, and one was also food runner and busser, the other was hostess. The salsa could use some help. It's quite watery, I prefer a thicker, chunkier, salsa. But the heat was there. Mild enough for most, but a little heat for others that prefer it. I ordered the burrito Mexicano with grilled chicken. I had to choose between beans or rice, which I thought was strange but I don't eat the beans anyways so no big deal for me. Husband got the mi Pueblo fajitas. Super tasty. We went on a Sunday early afternoon. The place was packed! Lots of families eating with a joyous, happy atmosphere. We ordered a Burrito de Jaiba, filled with whole juicy shrimp and crab, covered with a queso sauce and a generous side portion of pico, quacomole and refried beans. It was honestly the best version of this dish we have ever tasted. Everything was cooked and spiced to perfection. The shrimp was succulent and cooked to perfection. Our daughter ordered the Chimichanga Acapulco. It was filled with succulent steak strips and chicken and juicy shrimp. She absolutely loved it. It was crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. She even said that it was the perfect Chimichanga. A special call out to our server Alex. As I said earlier, it was a very busy, packed Sunday lunch crowd, but he took the time to joke with us and really went out of his way to make our dining experience fun and memorable. Thank you Alex! What a gem! My husband's sister and brother were visiting from South Bend and he said it was his favorite Mexican food restaurant ever. And he's traveled the whole world. My son's girlfriend drives for Uber Eats and said the food from this restaurant always smells so good. The food was good even above average for Fort Wayne. But it was the worst service we have ever had at any restaurant. Being a server is about one simple principle: treat others the way you would like to be treated. The server is a huge part of the overall experience. People spend their hard earned money on going out to eat and they should be treated well. We have recently moved to Fort Wayne and we were looking for a good place to have some Mexican food. We found this restaurant by searching online. We were very happy that we found Mi Pueblo. The food was delicious. We ordered shrimp fajitas and beef burrito. I was happy that they also had raspberry tea, which is my favorite beverage. The service was excellent. The menu is very extensive making it easy to choose an entree. The dining room is festive. Everything is reasonably priced as well. We will definitely return. Service was slow but they were pretty busy. I can't say much bad, but there are better Mexican restaurants in town. Whenever my family is up for Mexican food, we head here. We have tried a huge variety of the items available and haven't found anything yet that we didn't enjoy. The food has good flavor, but it's not overly done, nor is it too spicy (unless you ask). They have a queso that is just fantastic and their guacamole is wonderful as well. The food prices are very reasonable, and we have never left hungry. Our family of 3 is able to eat, with appetizers, for around $35 after a tip. This is not a place where atmosphere is top priority, the food is more important by far. The servers don't speak fantastic English, but they do a good job making sure you have what you need. If you enjoy Mexican food and are in the area, stop in and give them a try. Totally worth it. read more

This used to be my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. But over the years it has changed ownership and the food has consistently gone downhill and the prices uphill. The chips used to be light, crisp and warm. Now they are thick and bland. The salsa used to be the best around with lots of cilantro and a comfortable heat. Now it tastes like ketchup with oregano. This visit I decided to try a different meal than I usually get and went with the beef chimichanga. Unless you light sweet pot roast in your chimichanga, I don't recommend it. This is only the 3rd time in my life I have not been able to eat my Mexican food meal. The other two were because one tasted like they melted cling wrap on it and the other tasted like it came straight out of a 4-H barn. But those were other restaurants. The meat in this one was just too sweet and nothing like I would ever want in any Mexican dish. So needless to say, this was the last time I will ever eat here. Simple, tasty, inexpensive Mexican food in the Fort. I came here with my mom to meet two old friends (another mom-daughter duo) for lunch. We were seated right away. The outside isn't much to look at, but the inside is pretty warm and inviting. It's nicely painted and there's some cool art on the wall. We were started with a big basket of chips, two carafes of salsa and four small dishes to pour it into. I love this method, because it lets me totally hog all the salsa and double dip to my heart's content. :) The salsa itself was pretty fresh and delicious, with lots of cilantro and a cumin-y undercurrent. I ordered huevos rancheros, which I am always excited to see on a menu. It was three smallish eggs, cooked over medium as I requested, with rice, refried beans and tortillas. While the menu doesn't have a lot outside the norm on it, I was pretty pleased with the food. The beans were clearly homemade, the rice was well-seasoned, my eggs were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. It was just the right portion size and I cleaned my plate. Others at my table got a burrito, a taco salad and fajitas, and they all seemed pleased with their meals. Service was friendly and overall good. I don't get back to Fort Wayne very often, but I would definitely recommend Mi Pueblo and return given the chance. read more

Just received the WORST service I have ever experienced at a restaurant from Mi Pueblo 4. I am severely allergic to shredded cheese (the process in which it takes to shred) and therefore order a salad without shredded mozzarella. When our food came out, my salad was covered with mozzarella cheese. I asked the waitress (whose name I do not remember) to take my food back, and when she brought it out for the second time it was THE SAME SALAD with bits of cheese taken out of it. Not only did the salad still contain cheese, half of the meat was taken off of the salad as well. Absolutely ridiculous and an insult to a paying customer. As someone who has worked as an allergen specialist, these kind of EXTREMELY careless mistakes can truly be fatal. I will never return to this establishment and would not recommend that anyone does. read more

We've eaten here so many times over the 13 years we've lived in Ft Wayne and won't be going back. Today, my family and I arrived and were escorted to and then left at our table where we continued to stand for five minutes before I was able to find someone to get us a towel to wipe down the wet booth (left from a bus tub). We then waited another 10 minutes for someone to get our drink order. We showed a coupon that we intended to use and were told that it had to be printed out (not sure why it's available online but needs to be printed to be used). We asked, somewhat jokingly if they could print it out for us. They said they couldn't because the didn't have the password (???) but that they might be able to find a copy of the coupon for us. We continued to wait for 20 more minutes while these same people walked past us several times, occasionally stopping only to ask if we were ready to order. We reminded them that they were looking for a way to accommodate us on this coupon thing (at their own suggestion). We were eventually told that they couldn't do anything to help. I told them that all of these combined delays and waits made me feel that they should just find a way to help us out, but if not, we would sit, eat, pay, tip appropriately, but likely never return. At this point I was told that that's "on me" and other ridiculous things. I hated doing it, but we left the restaurant, after wasting all of that time and not eating, and will never return. Ordered steak & chicken fajitas for two to celebrate hubby's birthday. Flavor was good. Steak & chicken were minuscule strips abt the width of a fettuccine noodle with some pieces only an inch in length. Disappointed on the ratio to veggies which was severely lacking in meat.
