Expensive for what you get. Sure the burrito is huge and packed full of toppings, but I couldn't taste the meat. Where is the meat?? and I have to pay extra for chips and salsa? I got a big burrito, hardly any meat, lots of lettuce and beans, small chips with small Queso around $16.50. When your done ordering and get your food, look at what you're really getting for the money spent. Lots of cheap stuff and skimping on the meats. Mexican food should have enough meat on it. I can easily go to just about any Mexican restaurant for around $13 to $14 and get a pick 3 combo meal with 3 burritos (yes smaller) but with the same amount of meat or more in each burrito. Free chips and salsa all I want. Bottom line you'll get more food for your money at a regular Mexican restaurant They feel entitled to a tip here also. Do you leave a tip at Mcdonalds? why would I leave a tip? girl was kind of rude when I didn't leave a tip for my carry out order. I don't leave a tip at Mcdonalds or Popeyes either. Nobody is bringing my food to me at a table and fetching me drinks. Get real. read more

Wow what a huge disappointment. HUGE. Went here because people raved about it. It wasn't busy when I got there about 6:30. It was clean with about 8 tables to dine in. When you first walk in you do notice boxes and stacks of rice onions etc on the floor by the front door. Then from there it's an assembly line. They don't greet you when you walk in and they def don't have smiles on their faces. I ordered mine to go and got one adult and one kids meal. Kids meal is just a taco choose from flour or corn tortilla. Has a meat and one side. My lil got corn and ground beef cheese rice cilantro onion and limes. The tortillas are wrapped in foil and it's capped off with a lid. I got the nachos ground beef beans cheese pico de gallo onions jalapeños and limes. Came to $15. Got home took it out packages my lil's was ontop. When she grabbed it the lid wasn't secure nor did it fit properly and the food went everywhere. Since the tortillas were wrapped she tried to use those to make a taco from my ingredients. Wrong; they crumbled and cracked when she pried them open. They were also very hard. All went in the trash. Mine was lackluster. Meat and beans had zero flavor. I squeezed 3 limes over all of it and still nothing. Even the pico de gallo lacked any flavor. I've never experienced that. Not enough salt helped either. Overall I won't go back. I can make it better at home for a lot less. I'm glad they're local, tried to support them but I just can't put money into poor tasting and put quality food. read more

I really enjoyed my time and meal here. They are a fast casual type place, sort of like Salsa Grill or Chipotle. I like the taco bar vibe. I got three steak tacos with onions and cilantro and they were pretty good. Larger size than expected and a good amount of meat for the price IMO. I think I would try a different meat next time, steak was good but not what I expected when I ordered flavor wise. All of the options looked very tasty. Their chips and salsa were good too but do cost extra if you want them. Everything tasted very fresh! My husband got a huge steak burrito and it was great too. Their spicy salsa definitely packed some heat! They also make their own limeade and pineapple water. I didn't try the pineapple water but the limeade was quite tasty. They also have some syrups you can add at no additional charge at the drink station. I was bummed a few of them weren't working because I think the cactus flower one would have been great in the limeade. My only hardship was ordering because I couldn't hear the guy behind the counter very well and I didn't understand how the order process goes my first time there. I think it would be fine if I went again though. Oh, they also have alcohol if you want a beer or a wine slushie. Hop River canned a Mexican style lager that was ok branded for the restaurant. A bit bitter for my liking but not bad! I would definitely come back as a change up from our usual Salsa Grill! read more

This is the best Mexican I have ever had to be completely honest. The food always tastes SO fresh, their guacamole is phenomenal, and they're pineapple water is outstanding. Service wise - I typically order online for pickup and it's always super easy and easy to grab and go. When I do go in store, everyone is very nice, quick, and they're always changing their gloves for sanitation. Something so small but it makes a big impact. Very cute small modern feel. For my 21+ friends, they have alcoholic slushees I have yet to try but I'm looking forward to it. Just a heads up that this is NOT a sit down restaurant with servers. It is nearly identical to a Salsa Grille except you can get beer and wine-based slushies (like moscato or sangrias). It was very tasty and clean. Slight language barrier so I received soft shell tacos instead of the hard shell tacos and it took a few conversations to get both types of beans (pinto and black). The guacamole was PERFECT with a little salt and mild kick which was delicious. They have tofu as well for vegan protein and both rices are vegan. Super delicious! read more

Had lunch with a friend at Guadalupe's on Illinois Road yesterday. Very basic go through a line, pick your food and drink, and seat yourself. We ordered the burrito, and the chips with cheese sauce and guacamole , and two Pepsi drinks. The bill was over 33 dollars. The menu on the wall was hard to determine what add-ons would cost. We must have ordered add-ons without even knowing that there was an additional charge which amounted to about eight dollars. 5.00 for 2 pepsi's. Sadly, the food was pretty tasteless. Portions were ample, but very skimpy on the meat. Atmosphere was minimal. Very disappointing. and expensive. read more

Tried Guadalupe's for the first time 2 weeks ago, and have been back 3 times since for lunch. This place is akin to Salsa Grille, but most importantly it's closer to where I live. There was a time (pre-Covid) when I was driving to the main player in the fast-casual Mexican game, and I still rate that burrito as my fave, but Guadalupe's really does the trick when I need something different but not that different. This is on the top of my favorites list and I can order by phone and I'll have it ready quickly so I don't have to wait. This is my go to Mexican takeout place. First time we have been out to eat since the lockdown. We decided to sit outside. There are two tables out side on the sidewalk. My wife wearing a mask went in and ordered at the counter. We had a very delicious dinner. Carnitas for me and chicken with a cheese sauce for her. The tortillas were hot and above average. There were plenty of seating inside and all staff wore masks. We go there often and love it. Our last visit was especially great. Our son recently has had to eliminate several things from his diet. This is a 3 star for a few reasons but the biggest being this is no more than average food. You go through a line, like Moe's, and order what you want from beginning to end on your taco, burrito etc. They do have tables to sit down at but it's not more than a fast lunch type of place or super causal sit down. One of the things I noticed from this place was the guacamole and the queso is just quite odd. They don't mince the vegetables they put in both of those things. The guacamole has very large pieces of tomato and onion in it. You really can't taste the avocado and it's really disappointing. My coworker tried it and thought she got some taste of almost olive oil that was mixed in. It was just so off we ate a bit and just threw it away. The queso is the same story. Large pieces of tomato were in there and that after you get over the fact that they put that in there to begin with. Another thing to beware of is that they do not have phone ordering or online ordering. For a restaurant that's surrounded by a lot of local business I don't think that's really the route to go. I work very near the restaurant and we always order online as we have multiple orders and typically do it around midday. It's easier to avoid lines but unfortunately they don't have that yet. The last thing I want to say about this place is that one of the ladies on the line had walked into my place of work and was just very rude. We have guidelines and rules we try not to break. She was not having it. Very off putting and we almost all collectively did not want to return but will because it's right there. I know this is a lot but if you've made it this far I'd say you can find better honestly. read more

Ordered online for pickup. Yummy!! You can tell everything is made fresh. The best guacamole! I got a bowl and there was plenty leftover for lunch the next day. I got a sangria slush to go, it was good and stayed slushy for a long time. Also got a pineapple water and OMG, tastes just like the drinks they made in the Dominican Republic on our honeymoon that came in actual pineapples. Next time I go back to grab pickup, which will be soon, I'm getting pineapple water and bringing it home to add a little rum. I do wish they offered to bring it to your car during these Covid times, unloading a young toddler to pickup food + drink, then having to carry both back out to the car is tough and prohibits ordering pickup for me when my husband isn't home/have an extra pair of hands. read more

We tried this on a whim yesterday and we're not disappointed. We live in Indy and don't know the area super well so we just went with someplace nearby. The food was delicious and a taco bar style set up. The salsa was phenomenal which is what I judge most Mexican restaurants by. Line-order Mexican food is my favorite way to eat Mexican so I was excited when I saw Guadalupe's in our local strip mall. I was craving tacos tonight and we stopped by to try it out. The taco entree has 3 tacos with either/or flour/corn tortillas. The steak was great, flavorful and tender and it a big fan of the pico which was mild. My wife got steak nachos with the white queso and can't stop eating it. The chips seem to be made fresh in the restaurant and were thin and crispy just like you want them to be. Everything was fresh and delicious and we will absolutely come again. I would love to see desserts on the menu as well as a sweet pork option for meat. read more

So tried this place today with a buddy of mine and it was pretty good. I ordered the taco meal with 3 tacos, one was chicken, one steak and one barbacoa. I had the corn tortillas for my shells. First off the food was pretty good barbacoa was delicious, the steak was good as well the chicken was the outlier here. To me it was very bland and unflavorful. Put the other two meats were on point. The red salsa was delicious as well. I will try the queso next time. So why the 4 stars instead of 5 they flour and corn tortillas are pre packaged I wish they would go above and beyond the normal "Chipotle, Qdoba, salsa grille, bandidos etc" and make fresh tortillas. But this place is a good eatery. Especially being close to my place of work for lunches! read more

My biggest love and the way I judge Mexican places is by their salsa and I LOVE the hot salsa here which is clearly made FRESH. I have not had anything I would not recommend for a meat base but the barbacoa is particularly delicious. I've heard rumors about how good the food is here, but this was much better than I expected! I had the chorizo bowl, with pinto beans, queso, and added quac. YUM! It's just a lesser version of Salsa Grille. Pineapple water was good, but a little goes a long way. Prep work on chopping tomatoes and cilantro was lazy. It was clean, but the trash was overdue for emptying. Meats were bland, but the service was good. Overall, it was just...ok. read more

This little local place seems similar to a Chipotle at first glance, but it blows the doors off Chipotle. All fresh food and the barbacoa IS AWESOME. Pinto beans are really good too. Great flavor.
