I just left and had to leave a review. The food was absolutely amazing. It tasted so fresh and flavorful. The service was really great and attentive. I would recommend eating outside because it's like an oven inside, but the outside seating was decorated nicely with good music playing. El Taquito was on our last stop on the Little Havana street, and we were excited to try their Mexican cuisine. We ordered the Veggie Taco Bowls, and added extra beans to that order. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with statues frogs in the front which the kids enjoyed. The Veggie Taco Bowls were very good and presented nicely. I wish they had added more beans, since we paid extra for them. Maybe a language thing. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at El Taquito, and the service was good. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance, and the food was delicious and well-prepared. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in Little Havana. I would ask for a printed receipt since depending on the size of the group the tip is already included and the electronic bill gadget does not show that and you might end up double tipping. read more

THE FOOD: The food options are typical, on my visit, I have 3 al pastor tacos. 1/5 edible yes, but were very dry, no sauce, barely any pineapple and the meat was straight-up burned. When I list an item in my "Late Night Gourmet" list, it means a place that typically does not have white table cloth service and space isn't a premium. However, it's not a knock on the food. It's a lifesaver after a drink (or 3) or conversely a quick lunch during the day when you're starving and don't feel like being boogie. On all of those counts, El Taquito II fits the bill! I stopped by for a bite with friends after a nearby Yelp event and we snagged two tables in the cozy inside as well as some bar seating. The soundtrack was tropical I believe (the drinks were pretty good from the earlier event :) , the seats were backless stools and our waitress pretty decent. But the conversation and jokes with our crew was the best. My sustenance was their "Ahogado" chicken burrito; a sizable and deliciously cheesy & sloppy tortilla with cilantro, plenty of cheese, salsa verde and a decent amount of chicken pieces. I believe chips and salsa would have been extra, though the salsa verde tasted good. All In a all El Taquito is a solid spot for a quick bite in Little Havana. read more

Just left here and let's just say I won't be back. I get it's a holiday but the wait time is ridiculous. Sat down had to wait 15 mins to get acknowledged. Took our order. Got a Birria pizza, guacamole and a burrito. One hour passed and no food has come to our table. When the food arrived it was the birria pizza. Guacamole was the last thing to come out and it wasn't even all that. Birria pizza was tasty but 1.5 hours just two get something that's is fats to cook is ridiculous. Also went to the counter and they were thawing chicken out in the sink. Went there on a Friday night and the ambiance was good. Not too crowded. We sat outside and it was nice. We had the passion fruit margaritas and the corona margarita. They were delicious and huge! Very tasty and refreshing. We had the elote, esquinites and chips with guacamole as appetizer and they were very fresh and yummy. As entrees we had the churrasco tacos, steak sopes & Al pastor tacos. We stayed , had a couple other drinks , the other guy charged us double AFTER WE TOLD HIM THE FIRST LADY HAD CHARGED US ALREADY for the first drinks. He still decided to charge us double. We noticed the charge, still went back and asked him for a receipt , he gave us the receipt from the first charge.. so NOO!!! That is not okay. This was one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the Little Havana area. Not any more. Today we went back after several times there. It "Changed", menu, prices , quality and quantity. The food and appetizers came out in an incorrect sequence. Meats in the fajitas were dry and charred. The guacamole dish was more chips than anything. When questioned, the waitress coped an attitude. She replaced herself right away, instead of trying to redeem herself. Therefore it's not the same anymore. We did not even bother to take pics, something I enjoy doing when we dine out , if it's worthy. We will opt next time for a different Mexican restaurant. read more

Terrible service. Beautiful location but the service was bad. The cooks had better service than the front. The sweet lady cooks looked concerned about what was going on and at least looked at us unlike the rest. They even alerted them that we are waiting even though they know that. Food was delicious. The drinks were not great at all. My spicy margarita tasted super sweet. We waited 20 minutes to get a server. I don't know what they had going on but they had no manners or respect for the guests. Two tables in front. The whole time they were all arguing over something. I felt like I was in a reality show. I left very disappointed and will never return because of the treatment. I would've left but I stayed for my stubborn friend. Service is the number one thing. My server had a bad attitude and was basically rushing when were paying and not even at least a smile or thank you goodbye nothing. If you're looking delicious, authentic Mexican food without the frills and heavy price tag - El Taquito is the spot! Located right in the heart of Calle Ocho, this place hits every "hole in the wall" requirement. The service is so/so, it's pretty much "ask and you shall receive", but this would never deter me from eating here... it almost adds to the charm. There is an inside dining area and a small outdoor patio area. Inside, you can choose to sit at the bar or at their high tops. It's a small and narrow space, but not too stuffy. I've never seen this place super packed, but the traffic is constant and I see lots of people stopping in to pick up orders as well. Their margaritas aren't the best in the world, but they're pretty good. I can munch on their guacamole all day long! On my last visit, I ordered a steak taco, a chorizo taco and an al pastor taco. Each taco is no more than $3 - a steal! Each taco was tasty in it's own right. I'll definitely be back, I'm dying to try their tortas and their fajitas! read more

Micheladas are $6, and tacos are $3. Extra chips is $2, and four salsas come standard. Portions are fairly large (I'm talking 'bout the burritos that feed me twice), and while you're not getting like, USDA Grade A+++ steak, they season it well. As a California girl, I would consider this place as authentic as I'm going to get in Miami for a great price. I love this place with an intense passion, and with plentiful street parking on surrounding neighborhood streets, there's no reason not to come here. Food is made fresh, and chips are made in house! The open concept kitchen is always bustling, and if you get a counter seat, it's pretty mesmerizing to see this team at work. They have a vegetarian section of the menu, and truly everything is affordable. And though I love the Grove location, this place has more ambience and SEATING! Both inside and out, and don't be afraid to ask folks to scoot down the counter - most locals are friendly here, though you get lots of tourists peeking their heads in. The only issues I have here only happen with one waitress: burritos come with chips, always. During a recent visit, she told me that the menu was printed wrong (the same sticky menu they've been using in the years I've been coming here) and it only came with that sad salad of shredded lettuce and salsa. This is just...untrue. But most times I come here, my burritos come as ordered with a side of chips. Do double check your bill before you pay - I had ordered another round of drinks that didn't hit the table, but was charged for them. read more

Friday night and we were hungry for Mexican tacos. Closest one to us is El Taquito on SW 8 Street. We placed our order and took the back street to avoid the night revelers on Calle Ocho. The order was ready when we arrived 15 minutes later. Took the order home and indulged in a fabulous meal of green chicken enchiladas, guacamole, a steak burrito and corn tortilla quesadillas. The hot sauces were perfect, one smokey and mild, the other HOT HOT. My fav were the green chicken enchiladas. The green sauce was tomatillo and made perfectly piquant and spicy. The enchiladas were stuffed with juicy chicken and smothered in white cheese. The refried beans were done the way I grew up eating, although the rice was just so so. I loved the guacamole with large chunks of tomato and onion. My partner also enjoyed his burrito and quesadillas, with lots left over for the next day. Yum! read more
