Can at 9pm to eat since Apple Maps said the restaurant closed at 10pm. We walked up and tired to open the door and they walked past and turned the light off in our faces instead of just saying they were closed like polite people. The hours are also blacked out on the building so I guess they just open and close when they want. Best margaritas in Owasso! They also have speciality drinks that you'll wish you got too! I love the enchiladas with shrimp, cheese, and spinach. My husband get the burrito everytime and loves it. They are huge burritos so be warned! You will have leftovers with the burritos. They have a full bar and seating at the bar. They also have indoor and patio seating. The patio seating is nice and ambient. When the weather is nice it's a perfect place to just relax with drinks with friends and some great food. There is a young lady server that is great! She always refilled out drinks and offered drinks from the bar. We literally didn't have to want for anything because she was on top of it! She is what other servers need to be more like. Got there early like the old folks were becoming and were seated right away. The entire place is one big open room, which is nice. Chips and salsa came quickly - and to my delight, they brought us three types of salsa/dips. This is the first Mexican joint I've found in Tulsa that serves a green sauce to go with your chips! Went recently with a group of six on a busy Friday night. Servers were hustling! I love the salsa trio and since it was St. Paddy's Day, we were also treated to some green chips, too. Most everyone loved their meals. I had the Tacos al Carbon, my personal all time favorite. Two diners ordered the carnitas. That was met with mostly "Mehs." One serving had nice chunks of mostly crisp pork. The other diner had bigger almost gristly slabs. Everyone else (from the fajitas to the Santa Fe to a pollo dish) loved their meals. In fact, The Santa Fe is enough to share. We were kept supplied with flour tortillas and margaritas. In fact, our out of town guests said these were the best margs they had had in a long time. We are locals in Owasso and this has been our Mexican spot for years, recently they have removed a lot of choices from the menu which is understandable not a big deal. This evening on a Wednesday at 6pm (no rush nor was the place full) they had 1 waiter serving 5 out of the 7 tables that were in use. Meanwhile 5 waiters just standing around, we were not his only table waiting to have the orders taken. After a long wait I proceeded to ask to just pay for the chips and salsa. I explained to the manager that they had one waiter for 5 tables while, she has other waiters just standing around. The queso appetizer is what I ordered. It was 5.95 and what showed up Floored me! It's the smallest container of queso I've ever seen. I would have been better to order a meal and have them add a side. It's the same size! They also only gave one small bag of chips that wasn't even halfway filled up. They messed up on a dish and when it was mentioned the server said nothing at all, took the plate and walked away. We have gone to El Tequila for years and normally we really enjoy it but lately the food has been subpar. It seems to me that there is new management and new people working there. No familiar faces like before. This time my husband's street tacos were cold not cold like they had been sitting there too long before they were picked up but refrigerator cold. I sampled this establishments fare yesterday at lunch. Let me say that I was not impressed. Where do I start. Well the best part about this location is the dining area; clean and in a southwestern motif. The salsa was tomato sauce. No heat, you could put it on pasta and have a decent meal. I asked for a more picante salsa and the waiter told me to add the bottled habonero sauce to the salsa...what? He finally brought me this brown stuff that had a slight bit more heat but was so over citrused that the heat was barely noticeable. The chips were not bad heavy and lacked the lightness that you would expect in a good tortilla chip. So on to the lunch, I had the beef chimichanga. What I received look nothing like one and had NO FLAVOR. Attached is the pic of what they call a Chimichanga, sad really. Looks more like a fried burrito . The meat inside was very bland and tasted as if it were sitting in water behind the scenes. The guacamole had little flavor as well and the only thing on the plate that was even slightly enjoyable to eat were the rice and beans. They were actually pretty good. So if you are looking for bland Mexican food with salsa that you can use as sauce on pasta this will be a great visit for you. However, if you are looking for a place with flavor and authenticity, you will have better luck at Taco Bueno. read more

We went last night after a basketball game so it was later (830pm) and not a lot of people there (that usually makes me sus). I ordered a margarita and it was super delicious - I just said I need a margarita so I am not exactly sure which one they brought me and I wish I knew because I loved it. It was large (a bit pricey) but nevertheless it hit the spot. Next the chips were fresh, the queso delicious and those 3 dipping sauces they give you are super yummy. I liked the white one (he told me what it was I just forget now but its something with ranch). I got the appetizer called the Tequila Sampler and everything was spot on. My favorite were the beef flautas. They used a shredded beef and it was delicious. The wings were cooked great, they were big and had a nice heat and that white ranch style sauce I was talking about earlier went well with the wings. I was surprised but the spinach dip was also very good (and I am super picky about spin dip) The empanada was very good as well. I never got to the quesadilla - I was too full by then. I thought the price was very reasonable for the amount of food I got. I have a whole full meal leftover that I plan on devouring tonight. Plus it doesnt come with rice and beans because its an app and that's perfect for me. I dont like rice and beans, so I feel like I got way more for my dollar than I do with a meal which consists of over half beans and rice. My BIL got the crab legs and seemed to enjoy them. My vegetarian sister got veggies tacos that were overflowing with veggies and they were nice enough to let her know they cook their rice and beans with pork fat so she wouldn't accidently eat meat. I wasnt really paying attention to what mom and dad got but they both seemed happy. All in all a great meal and great experience.
