If you want to throw money away, this is the place to go. Let me start with the food, by saying that it was basic and flavorless at best. Meat with no flavor, tostones that were limped, maduras hard as a rock. Drinks were overpriced for what you get. They charged you at front for credit cards payments with no option to pay cash. They also charge for to go containers. Surprisingly, air was free. Service was slow unfriendly. I'm shocked this place is still opened for business. read more

This place was pretty good. The prices are crazy good and the portions are huge. We were attended right away when we got there for lunch. There was only one table being occupied and the tables were spaced out because of covid precautions. The server (there was only one) was wearing a mask. The food came out with a reasonable amount of time, tasted fresh, and was hot. The place looked clean and I can't complain at all about the service or food. I've came here a week ago had their pupusas, presentation wasn't necessarily the best but i enjoyed it, tasted pretty good. Server was alright nothing spectacular. Came here again to try their dish, server was great this time. But the food, I was not enjoying it all. Beans had no flavor rice was mid, steak was so dry and tough I damn near broke the table trying to cut it. Man that really upset me, I paid 15$ for that. There's something about finding a hidden gem when it come to authentic homestyle food. This little place is one of them. Ample convenient parking. Don't drive too fast, you will totally miss it. El Tipico Guanaco is best known for their Pupusas. It's a traditional Salvadoran dish of a thick corn tortilla stuffed with a savory filling, (chicharron or queso).... my favs... accompanied by (repollo) spicy coleslaw. Over all it's a 3 star because I'm not sure who's at fault here. I placed my order through Uber Eats and I specifically asked for utensils and specifically look for my work truck because, I'm working outside by the telephone pole. I see the driver walking up to the customers house a and I had to go flag him down. Then, I get ready to eat and no utensils and napkins. Now, for the food. I have to say that it's a FIVE star. It tasted very delicious. I was amazed. Now, just one slight tiny question. Why isn't the burrito wrapped like a burrito and instead it likes like a giant soft taco? I've ordered from here a few of times and I always get the same thing. This time though, not only was my order prepared wrong but they put rotten avocados in my baleada. I ordered two different of them. One had 2 nice green slices of avocado and the other one had nasty brown squished avocado pieces as you can see in the picture. Also they forgot to add cream and cheese to both of them which are major components. read more

Enjoyed my first visit to el tipico! I ordered tamales de gallina & the House special for my entree. Tamales de gallina was very good with tender cool chunks of hen meat in a smooth firm tamale. The house special entree had tasty juicy carne , grilled chicken , and grilled seasoned shrimp +3 sides! Yum ! Their Maduros are sweet and have crispy crunchy edges Beans were perfect for the tortilla side. Looking forward to come back for more food. read more

I am updating my review since I happen to travel back to Florida to visit my daughter. My daughter was craving pupusas, and apparently that is the only restaurant that serves them. I figured I would give it a second chance in hopes to remove my last post or give this place a better review. We entered and noticed it was pretty busy, but were sat down immediately and given menus. (This is a good start I thought to myself. ) We waited, and waited, and waited , and waited but no one came to our table for about 20 minutes. We looked around and although it was busy, there were still some waitresses standing by the bar chatting. I don't know if they recognized me from the first post , but they really didn't do much to make us feel welcome (After they sat us down. )At this point both my daughter and I were very hungry, so we got up and headed towards the door. As we walked away another couple came in and they set them immediately in the same spot we were sitting in. Truly I was once again a disappointed. Oh well.. lesson learned. read more

Do not ever order the Mariscada soup, they had the nerve to give me some seafood that they just boiled in their chicken soup, it was a great disappointment, the soup even had some pasta, where have you seen a seafood soup with pasta. I sent it back and did not order anything else. happened upon this spot in the way to Miami because I was craving pupusas and found this a mile away. I ended up ordering the baleada especial de carne asada (and a papuda to go for later) and was so happy I did! The first bite consisted of tortilla, crema and frijoles and it was such a perfect mix of flavors. The tortilla is handmade and tasted so fresh! One of the best tortillas I've ever had by far. It was perfectly fluffy and the right amount of chewy. And the carne asada was DIVINE. Perfect seasoning, perfectly cooked and just perfect all around. So happy I got to try something new and delicious :) read more

So good. I also ordered a tamale which was delicious as well. This is my go-to place when I'm looking for Salvadoran. Try it!
