OK, first of all let me say this is the first time we have been to this place. That we found out that this is one of the places that my wife's family used to own and just recently sold it last year so they still had a lot of pictures and stuff on the wall from her family. The service here was very good everyone there was nice to talk to. That place is really nice inside really good for this area. Seems like everyone knows each other. The food was really tasty. Can't wait to go back to try some more. We will be back when we go camping again at South Shore Comanche so we will see if I can give them a five star on the next go round I will put up some pictures so you could see a place if you are in the area you must check it out. Nice little spot with a nice bar.

Pozole on mind and we found a great place that makes it delicious . As long as there's a chill in Air. Honey Bunch had the Street Tacos and they were stuffed and seasoned. The Service is on point! The Strawberry Margarita, oh my. We will be back

Excellent food here in this old world cantina. The service is fast as you want and friendly. It's like being in Mexico the surroundings are very authentic. I had the pork chimichanga so tasty but more than I could eat. Lunch for the next day! Thank you Sarah for excellent service at the bar. See you here at this great local restaurant

We have been driving by this place on our way to Sacramento/Truckee for years. We always say we should stop, because there are always lots of cars there. We finally did and boy are we glad we did. As we walked up people walking in said it was really good. The minute we stepped inside we were met with the most amazing aroma that made you want to start eating and by a sweet staff. We found the full bar area with fire place and all. I love ambience with my food... well we found it in that area here. Great homemade flour& corn tortillas and wonderful salsa. The fajitas were amazing! My husband loved his Chimi as well. We were lucky to have the owner come out and chat with us as well. What an amazing family owned restaurant. We will be stopping in whenever we can get by there and will tell all of my friends Don't miss out on this lovely cantina!

I went for dinner on Friday evening and it was slow night as would be expected. I imagine their lunch crowd is where they get their business given the # of tech and other offices in the vicinity. Ambiance is nice. I don't know long it's been since I been to a place with an actual tablecloth lol. The food is good but not extraordinary, I will definitely comeback to try other items. We ordered queso, vegetarian chimichangas and churros for dessert. The rice and beans that accompanied the chimichangas were tad bland . The chips, churros and chimichangas are all fried and somehow there was slight after taste that lingered almost bitter. I am assuming it's type of oil that didn't jive with my taste buds thus wasn't impressed by food. Just in case it's my tastebuds acting up I do plan to try different items in my next visit. I do love that they have vegetarian chimichangas, it's easy to find veg tacos and burritos in most places but chimichangas not so much.

As our organizer mentioned, they were fully booked that night so do reserve early. Warm earthy tones in the decor made for a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and the light jazz ensemble and lovely vocal performances elevated the evening's experience. The ambiance is a strong point. Being a paella newbie, I definitely looked forward to tasting a version especially after watching cooking shows over the years. The saffron broth rice nicely counterbalanced the seasoned shrimp, sausage and other ingredients. Thumbs up. I had several portions. The tempura cauliflower - good. KR Enchiladas were cheesey and rich, plumply filled, and the accompanied rice accented with corn. Since we shared the three enchiladas, my small piece was enough for me. Suggest passing on the sourdough side that came with the paella. The bread had melted, but cooled cheese on it and there was not much free broth in the paella to soak therewith anyway. With water being the group's primary beverage, perhaps request a carafe of water at the table to ease the thirstier folks (me). Our wait person gave helpful suggestions and efficient service. The rest of the staff had hustle. As normal with live music, be prepared to raise your voice and repeat yourself in conversations. Parking is ample, with a short walk, in this Nob Hill Foods shopping center.

Restaurants like Palmita help highlight the culinary traditions of El Salvador, a cuisine that is often underrepresented compared with more widely known Mexican restaurants in California. The atmosphere feels relaxed and community oriented. The space has the character of a neighborhood restaurant where families and local residents gather for familiar comfort dishes. The interior is simple and welcoming, focusing more on hospitality and food than elaborate décor. The menu centers around traditional Salvadoran specialties. Pupusas are a highlight and a defining part of the experience. These thick handmade corn tortillas filled with ingredients such as cheese, beans, pork, or combinations of fillings are cooked on a griddle and served with curtido, a lightly fermented cabbage slaw, and tomato-based salsa. The balance of warm tortillas, savory fillings, and tangy curtido creates a satisfying combination of flavors and textures. Other dishes often include grilled meats, rice plates, and classic Latin American comfort foods that round out the menu. Service during the visit felt friendly and welcoming. Staff interactions reflected the neighborhood feel of the restaurant and helped create a comfortable dining experience. From a global travel perspective, Palmita reminded me of the small family-run restaurants I have encountered throughout Central America where the emphasis is on traditional recipes, generous portions, and warm hospitality.
