Coming back from a weekend adventure to the Bay Area, we stopped at Webster's Country Burger Drive-in..a spot we've driven by countless times and always mentioned 'we should stop there on day'. And well, we finally did! This place must have a story, because it seems to be the 'it spot' ~ in the course of our meal we noticed patrons who were on a date, family gatherings, a post-event group, and others road-tripping like us. It was actually really heartfelt to see that this restaurant meant so much to so many people. With a menu of hot dogs, sandos, chicken, burgers, ice cream, and more, I felt super nostalgic ordering at a drive-in. We tried the burgers, chicken nuggets for the kiddo, fries, and milkshakes. I loved the diced tomatoes on the burger ~ I've never seen that before and quite honestly, really enjoyed it. I don't love taking a bite of a burger and the tomato slice falls right out, so this was a refreshing change. Solid meal ~ crispy fries, yummy ranch dipping sauce, nice char on the meat, and plump chicken nuggets. I noticed alot of peeps ordering the chili fries, so when we make the trip next year, will def give those a try with a Caspers hot dog. Friendly service, great prices, and quick. We have driven past this drive-in so many times, and I regret it now. It's simple and seems unremarkable when passing by. So, the two of us were heading back and hadn't had dinner. About 5pm. I said we could get a softy cone and see about dinner. This is a drive up- no dining room. Order at the window. 1st we noticed the lower than normal prices for burgers. And there are just about any variation, like single deluxe with lettuce tomato and pickles. There's also doubles, 1/4 th pounders, black angus, etc. There is also sub sandwiches, chicken tenders and nuggets, hotdogs and chili dogs. I had an Ortega Chili Burger and she had a deluxe burger. We also had fries. No drinks. Total came to just Under $14! Take that McDonalds. We can't wait to stop next time we are going through Clements. read more

Coming back from the lake and I wanted a local burger spot and now here we are. I don't usually eat the things I ordered but today was a cheat day and I'm glad I did. The chili cheese fries were hot and fresh. The Western Wrangler burger was more like a steak sandwich, but it was pretty good even though I don't think the patties are fresh. What sealed the deal for me was the root beer float. Not sure why it tasted so delicious that I had to order another one. I was hungry for a submarine sandwich and I'd heard theirs were good. The clerk yelled at the chef "are we out of ham?", chef replied "yes", clerk said "I can't fix you a submarine". I wanna give 3.5 stars it's not 4 stars but not 3. The onion rings are good. The western wrangler is huge it's almost like a western bacon from Carl's Jr but with less flavor. The portion for the burger is amazing for the price, so the value is great. I've also had the grilled chicken sandwich which was also decent but nothing that stands out like crazy. This is the old A&W. It actually was one of the first. When Yum Brands instituted a bunch of changes, they simply renamed their place so they could keep the food the same, Food is consistently good. This place consistently closes well before the posted hours. On multiple occasions, I've arrived about 15 minutes before closing, only to be told they're no longer serving milkshakes or burgers because everything has already been cleaned up. If cleanup starts that early, the posted closing time should reflect it--otherwise, customers end up wasting their time. Additionally, the atmosphere is very off-putting. The interior looks dirty, and the outdoor seating and tables appear unsanitary. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Passing by, this looks like any old drive up fast food place from the late 60s and this one in particular appears that it hasn't been updated or possibly even cleaned since then. Truth is, I have driven by this place dozens of times in the last few years and I have never tried it simply based on appearance. This eatery is a good reminder that you can't always judge a book by it's cover. When I stepped out of the car, I realized that the two characters present in most of the other reviews, good and bad, we're there. So I assume that these are the employees that work the majority of the time and I definitely got the vibe that they favor "regulars". Since we had never been here (and before ordering anticipated we might never come again) we wanted to try something other than your typical burger and fries. We ordered the Ortega Burger, which was basically a cheeseburger with green chilis in it and although simple, the unique twist was a nice departure. We also ordered the Western Burger which appeared similar to ones bearing the same name that you can get at most burger joints. Let me tell you, I was happily surprised. It came on a long french roll that had been toasted and it had awesome flavor. We give extra stars for that one! We also tried their fries which were crispy and not over salted, a blackberry shake which was super yummy even though I never tasted any blackberry and we even added a taco to sample since it was only $1.89! They do have outside seating but even in the sun it was a bit chilly so we opted to eat in the car. Overall, I can't give high marks for service or cleanliness and the fact that there is no customer bathroom is kind of a big issue. Still, we really enjoyed our meal here and for the price you just can't beat it. Everything was tasty and we got a lot of value for our money. We will be stopping here more often for sure. read more

I love the burgers here...however, this evening is a Wednesday evening. I pulled up to the burger joint at 7:45pm in my nurses clothing. Off a 10 hour shift. There was 1 person ahead of me and when they were done with that person---the employee put up a CLOSED sign at the window. But you're open until 8pm and it was 7:45pm. Well within the closing time. Food was disgusting. The fries were cold and hard. My husband got tacos that my 2 year old grandaughter could have made better. The shell wasn't cooked they microwaved a slice of cheese inside the shell until it was so hard you couldn't even bite into it. We ended up throwing our order away and going somewhere else. It has been several years since I have been here. I stopped coming here due to poor experiences with facility. Only thing good I can say is at-least the bathroom has been fixed. This place needs a facelift empty trash regularly, deep clean dinning area, get a landscaper. If it looks like this on the outside what does your kitchen look like. I know all that costs money. Eager to stop by this place after a horrible drive in traffic - I was dreaming of a nice chicken sandwich, fries, and a shake. As I drove up to the place and parked, I saw a young woman talking on the phone outside. I nodded and, thinking she was a customer, went up to the window to order. No one in sight. "Hello?!" no one... there was a cook in the back but didn't see or acknowledge me. I waited... "Hello?" I said again. Finally, that young girl who was outside came in and stood at the window. "You were on the phone," I joked a bit. "yeah" she said wth attitude. (This would have been the time for her to say something like, 'whoops... sorry... how can I help you?) I started to order but realized I just couldn't eat at a place where the workers feel the need to finish their phone conversations before helping a customer. Even as I was calling for someone - she didn't even think enough to yell out that she would be there in a minute. This is really an example of a lazy ass attitude from someone who will never get anywhere until they learn some valuable lessons about work ethics and politeness. This is the saddest little chicken burger I have ever seen AND it was completely inedible because it literally was like bitting through a piece of rubber so not only was there a price increase but you also get a 1/3 of the food you order. I live 15 mins away from this place and was definitely ready to eat after work. Think again! I really love to support local places but I have given them chance after chance and I'm disappointed everytime. I stopped by here on the way back to Stockton. I have done this frequently when travelling through this area. I approached the window and noticed the waitress had no mask on. I told her I was a diabetic and asked her if she had a mask. Her response was an emphatic "NO!" I again asked her to put her mask on because if I get Covid, I could die. She again refused and just stared at me as if she was making a political stand and was proud to deny my request. I was very upset, but decided to just turn around, got back into my car, and drove away. Shame on her and her employers for not enforcing this important health directive. I used to go to this place for their ice cream but now I can't go here anymore. At the entrance there's a swarm of flies and inside the building where they made your food it smelled like sewage. The person working there had her AirPods in and didn't seem to pay attention. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and while drinking it it tasted funny.
