    (V) Tofu Mixto Bowl
    Molly L.

We came here on a weekday and were not impressed with the food. I ordered the tofus mixto bowl with garlic rice and salad. The garlic rice had no flavor, and definitely couldn't taste the garlic in it. The rest of the veggies were very bland -- cauliflower, pickled onions, salad, corn and beans, etc. I was so disappointed because the dish had no flavor. Even though it came with a mole sauce, I felt like it was hard to finish because the veggies didn't really go well together -- at times sour, other times just bland. The tofu similarly didn't have much flavor. My partner said the chicken in his chicken bowl was pretty good. He didn't have any complaints, but also was underwhelmed with the flavors. We both agreed we wouldn't come back.

This was my first time trying Palmita and I was really impressed. I ordered online for pickup, which was super easy and convenient. I ordered the chicken mixto bowl, and everything was so fresh and flavorful. The chicken was well-seasoned, the cucumbers added a nice fresh crunch, and all the flavors came together perfectly. The portion size was great and very filling. They have a lot of options on the menu, so there's something for everyone. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend giving this place a try.

Healthy, fresh, clean, fast food. I searched healthy on DoorDash and it recommended Ben's Fast Food problem was that it was in North Oakland and I live in Hayward (Cherryland) Something told me to look on yelp and Palmita pops up. The menu looked similar to Ben's and after I went to Ben's yelp page I noticed the same person replied to the reviews that confirmed it. Menu seems to be based on demographics and of course as a real Oaklander I was a little disappointed bc I wanted potatoes CUCUMBERS and Chic peas (hint, hint) but it's okay the tomatillo reminds me of a pickled cucumber. Now to the food! The chicken is juicy and flavorful. The vegetables are fresh and crisp. I order two bowls bc I want to try both sauces and it wasn't a way to add extra sauce (hint, hint) But the for price even if I could buy extra sauce why not get an extra bowl. I rarely leave reviews but whatever I can do to make sure this place succeeds as it is a prayer answered for me as I'm been dealing health issues due to a not so balanced diet. I look forward to many many meals from Palmita

Far too often among Asian restaurants in the Bay, the menus are quite similar and the dishes taste like they were made with the same recipes. But here the menu had so much more flavor, variety, and creativity! It turns out that Veggie Lee was previously featured in a Michelin Guide to California, and after eating their food I'm not surprised. We ordered five dishes here and all of them were delicious. Each had varying intricate flavors, and unique ingredients. The Shark's Fin Bamboo Fungus Soup was a pleasant and interesting start to the meal. Followed by two dishes that I'll highly recommend: the Lemon Grass Bean Curd and the Pea Leaves with Abalone Mushrooms. The Pinenuts w/Tooms Fried Rice went great with all of these. Portions were huge and we had plenty of leftovers. We were too full for the desserts or Boba, but very excited to come back and try next time.

It took a few minutes for us to be greeted and then seated and then some more time after that for our waitress to take our orders. I ordered the Tom Yum crab omelet; my friend ordered the eggs benedict, and we agreed to share the ube pancake on the side. I also ordered the ube latte to drink while my friend ordered the matcha latte. When we got our drinks, mine tasted like milk with light ube flavoring and my friend didn't care for her drink either. I'll bet if we had ordered Thai iced teas, it would've been a lot better. It didn't take too long until our food arrived. We tried the ube pancake first and unfortunately it wasn't that great. The pancake itself was dry and tasteless and the small serving of syrup it came with didn't help. I'm sure the ube pancake entree was a lot better as we saw someone next to us eating it and it was topped with fruit and whipped cream. That would have definitely helped with the taste and dry texture. The omelet was really good though. The sauce was delicious and it was a perfect combination with the rice. I wasn't too crazy about the crab, but I loved everything else about that dish. I ended up sharing a bit of it with my friend as she said she wasn't happy with her meal. I saw our waitress glance to see if we were doing ok, but it seemed like she didn't want to interrupt our conversation. I noticed that she was the only one on the floor and the place was getting busy, but her demeanor seemed a bit cold and she really looked like she didn't want to be there. I'm not sure if I would come back here. The Tom Yum dish was good, but that was about it. Based on other reviews, it looks like their traditional dishes are popular, but for me there are many other Thai places that serve delicious food while providing good customer service. I think that's why I was a bit taken aback with my experience here. I've always received warm welcomes and great service with every other Thai restaurant that I've been to. I might come back to try their more traditional dishes, but it'll be awhile before I return.

I was here for an art show last night, but honestly? The food ended up being the masterpiece. We essentially tried to defeat the menu and the menu won. 10/10, no notes. The Highlights: Hawaiian Sliders: Absolutely bomb. The perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about them 24 hours later. Crispy Quesatacos with Chicken Tinga: Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. It's hard to find chicken Tinga in a crispy Quesataco this authentic in a pop-up setting, but they nailed it flavor bomb Pupusas & Tacos: My friend and I went in on these and they did not disappoint. The pupusa was thick, cheesy, and had that perfect crisp on the outside. The Verdict: There wasn't a single miss on the menu. I even grabbed an extra haul to take home to my husband--usually, "to-go" food loses its soul on the car ride home, but he was obsessed. I'm already checking their schedule to see where they'll be next. If you want to eat the best food in San Francisco right now, this is it.

The wait was significant, but they were super upfront about that, which I appreciated. The chicken tinga was the standout - super tasty! Crazy ambitious menu with pizza, burgers, wings, kabobs, wraps and many Mid East favs like falafels, dolmas, gyro and babaghanoush. I only tried a couple of items, so I do need to try a few more things eventually. Order at the counter and food will get brought out. Seems like a place popular for take-out/deliveries. On a casual lunch I was impressed by the diversity in the place, as it is downtown Hayward. Young, old and cultural garb from several cultures spotted. Service at the register was friendly, dude gave off ownership vibes. Falafel Wrap ($11/4*) Very fresh and satsifying wrap. Big, soft and puffy pita bread is filled to the brim with fresh salad-like veggies. Chopped lettuce, tomato, onions and a couple of pickled items. Stuffed also with a decent amount of fat disk of falafel and a good dousing of tahini sauce. I loved the bites for the most part as I was full without feeling weighed down for the lunch hours. The falafels had good flavor but just didn't seem as crisp as I usually prefer, didn't seem fresh out of the fryer, which the places that are known for this definitely do. I especially liked the bites more when a pickled veggie entered the bite, so I should have ordered extra...next time. Beef Kabobs ($25/4*) Got this for take-out and it was still good hours later after a reheat. Beef is in small cubes and cooked pretty well done. A bit dry but at least it was flavorful. Definitely taste more Afghan in spicing/marinade, pretty bold with lots of garlic and herbs. De Afghanan out here in the east bay is the gold standard for these types of kabobs and those are cut into bigger chunks and are juicier by a lot. Kabob plates comes with a good amount of seasoned basmati rice, a pita bread, a small green salad and a small scoop of hummus. Even tho $25 seems a bit pricey, there is enough food to justify the price. I was able to make 1.5 meals out of it with a good dinner and a small work lunch. I actually want to try a pizza here and definitely a lamb kabob. I hang out in this downtown area often, so great having another casual option in my back pocket. Yeah Buddy!!
