My friend and I went here to enjoy a Paint and Sip night. The restaurant itself was pretty easy to find as it's in the Mall plaza. The staff were very friendly and attended to us pretty quickly. I can't rate the food because we didn't order any but the margaritas were good. They definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol in them. I said fine and headed to the bar to get some drinks after 15 of not being served I walked away. Our table was ready and we went to our table....... to wait some more. My sunglasses were stolen. I left them on the table and came back the next day after I realized i forgot them. They pulled out a huge pile of lost glasses and sunglasses but none of mine were in the pile. I am 100% sure I left them on the table. Either the waiter or bus boy. I love El Torito, but this one here in the Antelope Valley just plain sucks, long wait to be seated, went here during brunch hour, and the food was cold.. and with not good taste whatsoever. Long lines to just a get a taco.. just horrible cause it wasn't even worth the wait. The meat in the tacos was burnt, like it had been re-heated from days before (althouh it was cold at the time) .. just plain Nasty! My parents had come here for anniversary dinner and they as well then had a bad experience with food and service. They should really step up their game. DO NOT WASTE UR TIME & MONEY!! We asked for a happy hour drink and were informed that u can only get them at the bar. The signage in the lobby said nothing about Bar Only. FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!! We arrived at the restaurant and were told 15 min wait. That's fine. We were seated and then the nightmare began. (By the way I had my phone timer). We sat there for over 15 min, no chips no waitress, until the hostess passed by and saw I had my phone on timer. She got the waitress and bingo we had chips and she asked about drinks. We also told her we would order food. Ok the drinks came in good time. Again timer on, it took over 23 minutes to get 2 dishes. My dish was sizzling enchiladas, they were dry chicken sautéed and wrapped in a tortilla then some cabbage on top. Ok where's the sauce. I've always had a wonderful sauce on top. The other dish, macho combo was ok but the chili relleno looked like a pancake. My husband said there was a big piece of cheese in the middle and the batter was entirely too thick, so he left half of it. At no time did any waitress come back to see if everything was good. She finally returned to tell us she was going on break and the manager would be taking over. WHAT!! Who was that and why not another waitress. Well we waiting over 15 min and my husband got up and walked to the hostess, then he came over. We said check please and he started going thru the dessert list. We said check please. He then proceeds to clear some of the dishes and reaches over the closest one to him and takes the dinner plate in front of me and the fork lands in my lap leaving me with a stained blouse. Never says anything just leaves. Now I have a dry cleaning bill plus a miserable evening. We finally leave and believe me we will never be back. I've come to El Torito numerous times over the years. I usually had a pretty good time, and even became friends with some of the serving staff. I'm not an employee, former or current. The other day I had a really unpleasant visit to this restaurant to hang out with a few of the former employees and one active one, all of us ready to spend our evening and money there. There was a good number of us there to eat and drink, so we filled up what had been an empty bar top. Their manager Antonio had seen us all and said nothing, but shortly after some of us ordered drinks and some food, another manager, Juanita, arrived at the restaurant. She simply walked in the back, but looked at us all sitting at the bar. Juanita then called our bartender to the back, and when they returned, one of the former employee's was told that Juanita said that we all had to leave the bar. She herself never actually speaking to any of us, even the single active employee. We were all so offended that we quickly paid our bills and left to go to another restaurant nearby, effectively emptying the bar and taking our business elsewhere. Normally, the servers are great, the food is decent, and I enjoy my time at El Torito. But I was extremely disappointed to be treated so poorly by Juanita. read more

On Thursday we went for lunch, we were seated right away, but waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to come over to the table. When she came over to take our drink order, it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks. After our food order was taken it took almost an hour for the food to come. Service was terrible, went on sat waited 30-35 min for a well drink on top of that the waitress messed up our drink order. Staff was mostly new faces and didn't seem like they knew how to handle a crowd. The regular manager Jaycee was not there and it showed. He always checks on the customers and helps in all areas. I don't know who the manager was but their presence was non existent. This is not the el torito I've been coming to for years hopefully this was a fluke if not I will be taking my money else where. read more

I came into to town to visit my parents and we decided to hit the local El Torito - where we always used to eat whilst growing up in Palmdale. Last time I came to this El Torito, the Sunday brunch was so different from today. It was neat. There are sections around the bar area of all types of foods to devour. Not to mention, coffee and creamer with bread AS YOU WALK TO THE FRONT ENTRANCE. (I'm a grad student and coffee has become my life so this was pretty neat). Forward to the awesome bar of foods, there was one section of food that a GORGEOUS blonde girl was working at, it was bananas fosters and to be honest, I went there to get a closer look at her angelic beauty but the bananas fosters was one for the books. Honestly, I enjoyed it here. Only regret- not getting that girls number. Damn. 5 stars from a happy customer El Torito management and staff. read more

Our visit was a bit of a disappointment. Although the food was okay (albeit overpriced for what you got) the dishes were not clean at all--sent several back then just wiped my own clean (should NOT have to do that)--table/seating area was not very clean either & bathrooms needed attention (always a bad sign). By the cash register is a small, worn sign notifying the customer that a service charge would be added to the bill to cover their increased costs (not enough that the menu prices have increased) which was almost $2 for our small lunch bill.
