    Chips and queso
    Liz M.

Tried the new El Toro Express recently. It's okay. I ordered delivery, and there doesn't seem to be a way to order just rice and no beans. It comes as a burrito or bowl "with rice and beans." Not sure if it's the same when ordering in the restaurant. They could definitely take some pointers from Chipotle on how to wrap a burrito, because this thing just fell completely apart and turned into a fork and knife situation. The burrito is large, but messy. The overall ingredients weren't correct either. Not sure if they just really skimped on everything besides the rice and beans, or if they just completely made it wrong. I honestly couldn't tell. Definitely lacking flavor. The nacho chips are nothing special. The queso is pretty bland. Some jalapenos would help spice it up, but as is it's just okay. Sorry the pictures aren't great. It matches the experience I guess. ‍

Amazing alternative to chipotle or hot head. Better than both and less expensive to boot. You decide on your "base" like a quesadilla or nachos or a bowl, or in my case, the fajita combo, then decide on your protein and your toppings. I had the grilled chicken fajita combo with Mexican rice and beans. The person I was eating with had the chicken bowl and added El Toro's delicious queso for a small upcharge. They do offer both regular and frozen margaritas. We tried the frozen strawberry and it did not disappoint.

Amazing food! Amazing experience! The men were very nice to us. The food was fresh and way cheaper than chipotle or hot head. Will definitely go again. Had for leftovers for dinner - still good and fresh.

Great authentic food with very reasonable prices. And by the way, Taco Tuesday's are the best hands down!!

Delicious food I really really like the food and I love the service even more. It's a drive-through, which makes it even more convenient.

They were delicious!! The meat was quite flavorful and I believe the flour tortillas were homemade!! You get chips, salsa, and a wonder jalapeño cream. That is aahhhhmazing!! Decor is cute, but it was so hot, muggy and wet on the day of our visit. Aside from that, once it's fixed I'll certainly give it another go!!

Anyone walking in or out would bump the table ( I can't believe fire code would allow a table there) So we were moved over. Drinks I ordered a margarita not expecting anything exciting but it was literally just mixer. I had my wife taste it without saying anything and she said that is just mixer. I just set the 'drink' with two swallows out of way, he asked if I need another, I politely declined. He brought my wife a Blue Moon with a huge orange slice and no glass. Acted miffed that she requested a glass. My wife loves their steak fajitas they came out over cooked, meat had not been marinaded and had been cut with the grain. Basically impossible to eat as a taco. As we were sitting there the host tried to stick a lady in a wheelchair at the table in the patio walkway? I'm not a negative person and rarely complain. I hope this was just a really bad night, but frankly it will be a long time till I try this location again. Sad we have enjoyed this place over the years

The decor wasn't over the top and the music wasn't loud. I decided on the shrimp tacos with black beans and rice. Very tasty. The sauce on the side is way too spicy for me. I didn't need it. My wife ordered the Fiesta sampler appetizer, they were shredded chicken. The chicken could have been seasoned a little better but not bad. She said she thought the beef might have been a better choice for her. Chips and salsa were good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. This is hilarious and not always true. We come to Ohio to visit my husbands family and okay- I'll admit I don't trust Mexican food in states that don't border the beautiful country of Mexico. But this was a delightful surprise. I ordered a steak quesadilla and could have done without the extra cheese sauce poured over it. But the flavor overall was good. Rice and beans were also flavorful. I would have like a salsa that had a bit more spice and bite to it. Throw some habaneros, Serranos and tomato's together. Please!!! My husband ordered enchiladas and said they were good. The staff was super friendly and attentive.

Visited 26 JUL 24…read more When you are in a town where your spouse previously lived, you can stumble onto a place that she has been to. In fact she wasn't even aware this was a chain. We were in town visiting family. We were in between "events" and had time to have lunch by ourselves. We were both in the mood for something a little different than the other one the road meals we had been having. A bit of Tex-Mex sounded like the right thing as we were driving around and she was showing me old haunts. This is a decent place, it is exactly what you expect in terms of decor, music, aroma. It all well sets the mood for a pleasant border run experience. The furniture is substantial, dark, leather{ette}. Our server Maria, was engaging, effective and paid just enough attention to us on a weekday afternoon that we didn't feel quite neglected. There were a few occupied tables, including some ladies outdoors having mid-day margaritas. I suspect this location does well on the weekends and evenings, there is a good bit of housing around. Where it didn't quite come through for me was the food. It was adequate. My wife said it was what she remembered, solid and consistent. She had a beef burrito combo and I had chicken burrito combo. We both ate the entire serving (it was filling without being too much). My chicken was a bit "soggy" and the flavor was not committed to either Texas or Mexico. If we lived here, would likely come back and try some other things. Maybe have a drink or two- that might bring some additional flavor. I imagine they have mild-i-fied everything for a mid western audience. I suspect ordering in Spanish might get you the good stuff.
