This is becoming one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. Their chips and salsa are delicious, the loaded guacamole is a solid must have staple for an appetizer. We always get a different entree when we come in - and I don't think we've had one we don't enjoy. Service is always quick.

To say I was extremely disappointed in this place would be an understatement. I was just expecting more. I was seated right away, which was a positive and they were not busy at all. I ordered the Shrimp Fajitas, which was a major disappointment. When I order Fajitas I expect them to come back to my table "sizzling" hot, which was NOT the case here. The food was just warm and I thought they were skimpy on the shrimp. I had to track my waitress down for napkins along with some tortillas and they were soggy. The waitress wasn't attentive at all, until it was towards the end of my meal and time for me to pay. Towards the end of my meal she got extremely pushy. She came by the table multiple times to see if I had the check ready to process. They had about another 90 minutes before they closed for the evening, so I'm not sure what the rush was all of a sudden. Very annoying! The place had your typical Mexican decor for this style of restaurant with music playing in the background. Overall a big disappointment!

I came in on a Friday night with a friend. We were seated right away and service was friendly enough, but we both noticed as we sat down our table had not been cleaned very well, and there was food all over the floor underneath the table. I'm unsure why we weren't seated at a clean table as there were plenty available. Onto the food. I generally trust Mexican restaurants to be able to deliver a decent vegetarian option (so many delicious options with rice and beans alone!) but I did not find that to be the case here. I ordered a fajita burrito (menu stated veggies were peppers, onions, and mushrooms) and asked for the meat to be subbed with black beans - and the burrito came out filled with broccoli and cauliflower, amongst a few other veggies and a piece of shrimp, which I found very odd. I'm not sure if the kitchen was running low on fajita veggies or what, but it was definitely one of the weirder Mexican meals I've had. The rice and black bean sides, along with the typical chips and salsa, were just OK. Maybe part of the problem was my entree choice, and going meatless - but I wasn't terribly impressed. I will probably not try this location again, and will look for a more authentic Mexican location in the area instead.

Average food, pleasant service but it was extremely slow. We had to ask to move tables to another table and they understood why.

Living in South…read moreFlorida influenced me to learn much more about Latin foods which are much more diverse than Mexican. I've had a very hard time finding much Latin diversity here so far but for Mexican this is quite good. I've mostly gotten combo platters because I like the variety. I believe every combo platter should come with rice and beans. I can tell how authentic a place is by the beans and salsa quite often. So far I've liked the combo platters and the taco salad that I tried. Again, if I remember correctly, I had to pay extra to get beans on my taco salad. That would be one complaint I have. Beans should be a staple and come with everything unless the person doesn't want them. The service has been good. No complaints and it's been busy when we've eaten there usually during lunch hours. The decor and ambiance is pretty typical Mexican. Nothing fancy. The one thing I will note is I didn't see any Mexicans working there. Maybe someone in the kitchen I can't see so that's usually not a great sign. I know they've been around a long time. I'd probably go a smidge lower to 3.5 if I could just because I'm rather picky about Mexican and Latin food but I don't think it's fair to go down to 3 so I'm rounding up. The prices seem a bit high but everything is so expensive in 2026! They are probably pretty average for eating out and I'm sure it's costing them more just like all the rest of us have seen food prices sky rocket over the past year. I would certainly recommend them for a lunch bite and a nice Mexican American experience.

The restaurant is small. They have maybe 12 seats inside and a few picnic tables outside. They do have a drive thru but I'm not sure if it's in working order. I did have to wait a minute for my food but I was ok with that because I knew they'd be fresh. The lady I interacted with was friendly. On Thursday the special is 4 deep fried shredded beef tacos for $6. So that's what I went with. They were decent sized and had a fair amount of shredded beef. The lettuce was fresh. And I liked both the mild and hot salsas. The mild was more like a tomato sauce but kinda Italian tasting. The hot wasn't over the top and was very smoky. They have a very vast menu so I'll definitely be back because there's many other things I'd like to try. I definitely recommend checking them out and take a peek at their specials.

We must have been absolutely starving because we demolished all of the food, and they give you a LOT. This meal comes with the meat and onion choices, pico, lettuce, and guacamole for toppings. This place is mainly used for catering or ordering pickup, but there is a small area for dining if needed. Both times we came in we were so hungry that we ate at their table, which is not something I feel they are used to but they were very accommodating. We eat here regularly, and it consistently delivers great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Our boys almost always order the Sombreros Burrito, my wife rotates between the street tacos and fajitas, and my personal favorite is the chicken fajitas--always hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. They also have a solid drink menu, although you'll usually need to ask for it. The chips and salsa are a must, but here's a pro tip: the regular red salsa can be a little bland on its own. Ask for the hot green salsa, mix in a spoonful or two with the red salsa (and add a little salt if you'd like), and it completely transforms it. Service is generally outstanding. Like any restaurant, there are occasional ups and downs, but in all the years we've been coming here, I can't remember encountering a single unfriendly staff member. One thing that consistently impresses me is how incredibly fast the food comes out, even when they're busy. The owner is also a tremendous supporter of local youth sports, especially baseball, which is something our family appreciates. Because of that support, don't be surprised if you see big crowds during tournament weekends. My only disappointment is that they eliminated their rewards program when they switched POS systems--that was a great perk for loyal customers. Overall, Sombreros is a place we continue to come back to again and again. Great food, great people, quick service, and a business that supports the local community. Highly recommended.
