They let me do my big call here with 2 1/2 men in the background lolol
    Genevieve S.

Excellent stay, great hospitality, awesome owners with an adorable rescue dog. Great location right off Route 66, walking distance to Walgreens and a steakhouse & bar. We stayed in the former Elvis room (now the road trip room), which was renovated recently on a reality tv show. The design of the room was pretty chic and cool but pretty different from the other rooms around (the show only did 2 rooms). It was clean and decently maintained, and the bed was comfortable. The important thing though is the owners are just such nice people. I had a call that was pretty pivotal to my career, and since Wi-Fi was not ideal in our room they let me use the hotel lobby for two hours so I don't miss my big career moment!! So much gratitude for their flexibility and kindness. Overall, such a unique stay with interesting history. You must check this out if you're on Route 66!

I have stayed here 3 times so I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this hotel yet. Most recent stay was last week on my way home to NC from California. I have stayed in the James Dean Suite, the Audrey Hepburn Suite, and the Marilyn Monroe Suite. This is a classic Old Route 66 hotel not far from I-40. Given its age, there are some things that are not to contemporary specs -- the bathroom is smaller than you'll find at the Marriott. But everything you need is here: clean bed, fridge, microwave, AC. Checking in is an experience in itself as the owner will tell you everything you need to know about Kingman. I'm sure the past year was hard on the El Trovatore (there are a huge number of international travelers who are fascinated by the "Old West" and love Old Route 66), but I hope as the world opens back up they can rebound. I would love to see the neon lights on the classic sign and tower lit up again. Some things could stand a deep cleaning, like the curtains and showers. But nothing I can't live with for a night.

A fun place to stay after driving old Route 66 from Seligman. All rooms have a movie star decor. Dog friendly. Beautiful view out the back of the property. Very helpful and friendly staff. The last pre WW II motel in Kingman still operating.

A little flashback to my childhood!

This is such a fun hotel for your stay in Kingman! It's just a short distance from downtown, right on historic Route 66, and rooms are clean and themed to an era long gone. The gentleman at the office informed us of the town's history and recommended several restaurants and attractions nearby.

Cute historic motel on Route 66. Very clean and very friendly. The neon is soooo cool.

Stayed here for 2 reasons, the nostalgia and it being dog friendly!! After hearing and seeing this place, I knew we had to stay here on our Route 66 road trip!! This place is home to the "World's Longest Route 66 Map" and it spans practically the whole motel. It is a mom and pop place and so the vibe is very friendly and homey. Checking in was super easy and the lady welcomed my dog with open arms! You also get a Route 66 pin when you check in! Rooms are are fair priced, for a busy June trip, I think my room was about $80 plus the pet fee. Each room is themed different and we had a Marlon Brando room. Upon entering the room, the TV is on to classic TV and there are Marlon Brando pictures on the walls. The room is older, so don't expect some 5-star amenities. If you stay here, it is for the vibe and nostalgia! They do have wi-fi and the room comes with a mini-fridge and microwave. There is a unusable tub however, so I guess you can just put your suitcase there or use it as some sort of storage. The room is a bit small and cramped and the bathroom is a bit awkward shaped. However, I came here knowing what I came for. The map is a great thing to see and they have a huge "El Trovatore" sign that lights up at night. It is also really close to the downtown area, so finding food is pretty easy. They also has a HUGE Route 66 road sign painted on the ground at the entrance. There are also numerous murals painted around that make for nice photo ops. It was quite when I stayed here. As far as dog area, there wasn't too much. A few dirt patches but there was a grass area across from us, so that is where I took my dog. This place is mom and pop owned, so there is no 24/7 service. If you leave early before the office opens, there is a key drop box. If you arrive after 10 or 11pm, you may have a hard time getting a hold of someone to check you in. However, you can always arrange it before hand. I don't think I would stay here every time I pass by Kingman, but I do think that everyone should stay here for the experience!! It is Route 66 in every definition!

Visit on 5/17/17: Wish I could have given this a higher rating. Out on the open stretch of 40, it has a lot of quaint charm. The combination of classic movies is great: we stayed in the Bugsy Siegel room with Porky Pig on the door and photos of Marlon Brando from "The Godfather" and the Rat Pack inside. Taco was fun to play with while checking in, and he knows a few tricks. My two problems with the hotel were the cleanliness. Walked in to find long blonde hairs in the bathroom sink and short brown hairs in the tub. Also, my dad had to work to get the Wi-Fi to work for him; it did not work at all for me. Although we stayed when it was packed-- we got the second to last room for that night, no theft problems. As I was in the process of moving, you'll see from my photo that anyone looking to break into cars would've picked mine. However, everything was intact when we left the next morning.

We loved this place ! Super cute and kitsch . It's on the famous Route 66. Sam was very knowledgeable about the history of the area , and nice too. All the rooms are themed. We were in the "James Dean" . We would definitely stay here again . Clean and comfortable .

Right off Route 66, Great nostalgic Motel with themed rooms, owner was a wealth of information of Route 66 and Kingman in particular. Great stop, and definitely worth a stay of a night or two.

Upon shaggy man on Route 66 we were greeted by the owner Sam who was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Since I had a trainer be allowed me to park in the light and set us with a groan to keep an eye on our trailer. The Room was old but did the job. Door frames looked like they were broken into several times, the floorboards were rotted and fallen apart combo that's were comfortable and they were all over always clean with the exception of some hair on the sheets. That 1 up clock in the morning a woman approached me saying he could not park where I was told in she was the owner was very rude. When I asked her what she was she was extremely upset and said she was going to talk to her husband. Few minutes later she came back and apologized and said her husband let her know he told me to park there. This is good and historic location that has not been kept up to good my overall fun

We stayed here on a month long road trip, so we had a lot to compare it to! Our room was the Marilyn Monroe room. Let's start with the GOOD: - Owner Samuel has a LOT of info. I mean a LOT! If you have time, get a history lesson from him, he'll be sure to impress with his extensive knowledge of the area. - Taco the dog is always happy to see you - They actually had Stevia in the room for morning coffee. I think the only place on the whole road trip that did! - Another feature we only got at this place was it was pretty dang sound proof! We didn;t hear anyone from the other rooms. - It was older, but it was clean. - Despite other reviewers comments about security, we felt completely safe. - Totally unique experience overall. We really liked the effort they put into it! What we DIDN'T like: - While the room was clean and cozy, the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The shower was a little too old school for us. It looked like a ancient cavernous hole that likely had not seen it's nooks and crannies cleaned out due to the age/design. - It is looking a little tired, but at the same time it kind of lends to it's charm. All in all, its a unique experience and it's nice to get out of the corporate chains and back to some mom and pop business once in a while.

    Great neon tower!

Nowhere on their website or booking information does it state that local residents are not allowed to rent rooms. If that is truly their policy, it should be clearly disclosed before someone takes the time to book or show up expecting to stay. The front desk employee was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional while explaining this supposed policy. Instead of handling the situation politely or offering any kind of reasonable explanation, I was treated like I had done something wrong simply for living in the area. As a paying customer, being turned away simply because of where I live was frustrating, embarrassing, and completely unacceptable. Policies like this should be clearly stated up front instead of surprising guests at the front desk after they've already made plans. Because of this experience, I will never rent a room from a Best Western again--even when I'm traveling on the road. Customer service and transparency clearly aren't a priority here.

I booked and checked in 1/1/26 after driving all day. I originally booked and selected a first floor room through the Hilton app and when I received the digital key it was for room 302. I called and Annette told me over the phone the owners would pay the cleaners on the holiday so none of the 1st or 2nd floor rooms were clean or available. Cool. I arrive and go to my room 302 located right in front of the open area ice machine. And immediately can hear multiple people stomping around upstairs. Not to mention the grossly stained carpet. I called the front desk and asked to be changed rooms because of these things. She moved me to 304 right next door that was just as dirty and had dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I called the front desk again and told Annette I told her given that both rooms were dirty. I didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the bed given visible areas of the room were dirty and both rooms were so musty, and smelled it like mold. She apologized and I met her at the front desk. She told me she'd leave notes for her boss and gave me a piece of paper with the managers contact info so I could get my stay refunded because I did in fact not stay. The next morning I called the manager Cherie and I received attitude from the start. She said Annette didn't leave her notes so she needed to go see the rooms herself after asking me what was wrong with them. She claimed the cleaners only leave the dishes clean and insinuated I was lying. I told her I took pictures and had no problem coming back to show her if necessary. She told me that wasn't needed and she'd call me back then click. She hung up. She called me back about 30 minutes later, and offered me 5000 Hilton points but told me they wouldn't be refunding my stay. Not what Annette had told me or I wouldn't have gone on my way so easily. Honestly this is the WORST HILTON I've ever attempted to stay at and the manager should get a new job because she certainly isn't good at customer service.

When we arrived, the front desk informed us that the entire building of room had no heat - the heating components were out of order -- and with nighttime temps dipping into the low 40s, that was completely unacceptable. I asked if they had any alternative options, and we were offered a "handicapped king suite with a sofa bed." We accepted, hoping it would at least meet the basic description of what we booked. When we got to the room, we quickly realized the "sofa bed" was not a sofa bed at all. It was a tiny, uncomfortable couch (as pictured below). I went right back to the front desk to explain the issue, only to be told that they don't actually have sofa beds at all -- just couches that "people sleep on." Completely misleading and unacceptable. On top of that, the king bed was extremely soft, sagging, and offered zero support. The entire room felt old, outdated, and neglected. After just 30 minutes of trying to make it work, we checked out and found a different hotel. Save yourself the headache. This place is absolutely not worth your time or money.
