Like all the reviews state, these folks are genuinely nice people! Within 10 minutes you feel comfortable. Five minutes more and you're "family"! I was in a non-smoking room and I smoke. By the time I checked in, they had set up a table and chair and ashtray outside my door! :) I joked that in the entire town, there wasn't a place to get a candy bar! The owner Dean actually texted the manager Dave to bring a candy bar from the big city. THAT'S the kind of people these folks are! Wonderful! I stayed 2 days. It's a small remote old mining town. So I got to meet all the locals, and they too were genuinely nice folks. Highly recommend this place!

This place is super clean, quaint and friendly (and maybe a little quirky, in a good way) and we were treated like old friends.

Chloride Ghost Town - 02.15.25 once a service station now a private residence

    Chloride Ghost Town

    (22 reviews)

Living Ghost Town [Chloride AZ]…read more It's quiet but definitely not a ghost town located 22 miles from Kingman. Not to be confused with the ghost town in Chloride, New Mexico, this place is actually an old inhabited mining town. The town was founded in the 1860's when silver was discovered. During mining days the town had a bank, hotels, barber shops, a pool hall, saloons and restaurants, some of these structures are still there, cool preserved buildings... about 2,000 people lived in Chloride then. There is a working Post Office on site. The mines shut down when workers went to fight in WWII. The cemetery outside of town is one of the state's oldest located on Patterson Road, even though the cemetery has recent burials, there are many unknown and old graves, some of the headstones dated back to the early 1900's. The main road is on Tennessee Avenue, we drove around and looked at the old houses, we passed by a metal yard art. We saw an old service station that once pumped gas when Chloride was one of the busiest and richest mining town during its heyday. In front were some vintage gas pumps that once pumped gas for thousands of cars and trucks. That service station is now someone's private residence. There was an antique store but it was closed at the time. We went shopping at the Mineshaft Market general store/visitor center for little souvenirs and some chips to munch on. We had lunch at Yesterday's Restaurant. Next to the restaurant is an 1860's era rooms w/ air conditioning, TV and WiFi - the Shep's Miners Inn|Hotel. So definitely alive and not a ghost town. Very cool stop off U.S. 93 south of Las Vegas and north of Kingman in Arizona. #3690

Well I have mixed feedback on this place. The owner was so nice to us. He waited for us and told us…read morewhere to go. He was really sweet and after we checked in we realized we were the only people there. He left the main building and we had the whole place for ourselves which was awesome. It's in middle of nowhere (in town with only one gas station and one bar). There is a store across the street but they don't sell liquor. We had to drive 2-3 more miles to get some booze. It was really hot inside so we took the table and chairs outside and sat there. The rooms itself were very smelly and bugs were everywhere. All over floors, furniture and BEDS! Dead and live! They were crawling everywhere. The bathrooms were smelling so bad too. We had a hard time with getting the smell out. A/C unit was super loud. You can't sleep with it on. The bathroom towels were great. Soft and luscious.

Until we got there, and they told us, at 4:00 in the afternoon on the day of our reservations, that they cancelled them. For no reason, and without telling us. Thankfully, they work closely with Canyon's End, and even more thankfully, they had room for us. So we ended up here after all! These guys saved our trip. With two young, disappointed kids, traveling who knows how much farther away from our destination (Grand Canyon West) could have ruined our trip. Not only did they save our trip, but the owners were super nice and helpful. The room was great- clean, comfy, and well stocked. Everything worked well! So while my kids were disappointed they didn't get horse rides and a campfire, we had a great evening. And I saved a bunch of money, that we promptly spent on souvenirs the next day- so even they are glad with the way things ended up.

This hotel is alright; it is kind of in the middle of nowhere without much to do near it. We stayed here as we wanted to visit the Grand Canyon Caverns near it. Prior to arriving to the hotel, I did not realize it sits directly in front of a train track. A train goes by once every 30 minutes or so. They have a box of ear plugs at the desk if you need them. While the train horns did wake me up, I drifted back to sleep quickly listening to the train on the tracks. Surprisingly we all had a decent night's sleep, but I know some people would absolutely hate the train tracks being right behind their room. Be aware unless you have Verizon or log into the hotel WIFI, your phone WILL NOT work here! We had zero service so we couldn't call or text anyone if we needed to. The hotel does have a small pool and a hot tub which were nice to use. They also have a small gift shop and a restaurant attached. The biscuits and gravy was delicious for breakfast. Breakfast is not included though; you will need to pay for any food you are wanting.

Arrived late. It is great arriving here…read more I've arrived at Hualapai Lodge since about 1993. I was what the old-timer's called an "Indian Agent." For 36 years I had a professional relationship with our Nation's tribes in Natural Resource Issues; farming, grazing, transportation, forestry, wildland fire, fire rehabilitation, forest and woodland fuels. Tribal business sense and economic development skills have grown, developed and steadily appeared. In 1981, two Traditional Elders of the Yakama and Wanapum Bands of the Columbia River said, "...We're gonna Indianize you chris..." That has happened no matter where my feet landed. Because I was formally introduced to the Baha'i Faith by a Yakama Tribal member, signing my "declaration card" on the Yakama Nation, I have participated in sharing and discussions many of my "Last of the White Guys" co-workers never knew. My views toward "Indian Country" are weighted to the positive side. I see the positive, not so much the negative. I know the distance traveled since my wife's mother was removed from her home, age 7, and trucked to the Truxton Canyon Boarding School, later to the Phoenix Indian School. That is why we booked our stay here on TripAdvisor. We ended up driving more than our planned 6 hours per day, arriving 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May, 23, 2026. We called ahead as the sky darkened. Our room waited, reserved as contracted. What did we expect? Comfortable bed, bathing and brushing, some rest, a morning meal. I have no prolem with railroad noise. Semi trucks and their Jake Brakes, railroad sounds are the soundtrack of my life. The Peach Springs Oscillator is time passed between each train. In booming rcomomies, a train every 20 minutes. Slowing economies, mote time between trains. Our economy is slowing in 2026 - at least in goods hauled by railroad. We had an excellent rest, clean sheets, comfy bed. Good selection of channels on our flat screen. We were pleased with our choice.

Definitely one of the worst hotels I've been to. If you book a room here, the elevator situation is insane. I've never had to wait in a huge line trying to get to my room. I asked a worker if there were stairs that we could use to avoid the massive line and she straight up lied to my face. Once we got to our floor, we checked to see if there was a stair well and sure enough there was a door at the end of our floor hallway leading to the stairs. Also housekeeping just came by knocking loudly at our door at 8:45am when check out time is at 11:00am. We even had the "room occupied" sign hanging on the door handle. Very rude and not okay to disturb guests in their rooms when it's not even close to the check out time. As far as the room itself, A/C doesn't work well, pillows are very thin, and mattress/bedding isn't comfortable. It is crazy and a shame that the Tropicana is in relation to Caesar's because it is not on the same level whatsoever as the one in Vegas. Way below it actually. I'd recommend not coming here. Also to add some of the workers here seem to hate their jobs. I will be booking at another hotel next time I come here and avoiding this hotel at all costs.
