He explained to me that all cigars in the shop were their own. I requested a particular type and he recommended Corojo. He offered to cut it for me. As I lit it later, I was pleased. I'll be back.

When the (very) occasional hankering for a cigar comes my way, or I am going to a party (in the before times) where I know cigars will be appreciated, a stop at Santiago's always leaves me smiling. This place has EVERYTHING. I was first introduced to the team here at Santiago's during the Blackfriars production of Anna in the Tropics, where we had live cigar rolling for some of the evening shows. They have the expertise and a huge breadth of experience to answer your questions, and provide you with the exact celebratory smoke you're looking for. I tend to go for the alcohol infused/scented cigar options, as I am usually enjoying a cigar alongside a celebratory drink of some kind. My partner and I adore the Makers Mark cigar, and I am a sucker for anything red wine infused. They do custom bands for events, live rolling, and have nice detailed descriptions of their cigars on their website. If you are new to cigars, this is the absolute best place to dive in for the first time. Such helpful staff members with literally zero judgement, they are there to guide you along the way. They will cut for you if desired and send you on your way! They weren't open (yet) when my cigar craving hit this morning, but I am looking forward to stopping by ASAP and grabbing some goodies to enjoy here at home. Much to love to this amazing shop!

At first it was endearing and hopeful, but I think it's a rouse. These empty promises are made worse by the enforcement of a local policy that you must buy one of their cigars from the humidor to actually smoke there (at inflated prices plus 40% tax), or buy a private membership. The 2 local goons sitting there made it perfectly clear I wasn't welcome unless I complied. As a business traveler just looking for good company and to enjoy a cigar would find zero value in that proposition. It's not surprising Nick's is empty. I don't predict a bright future here. I'll take my business to other establishments nearby that get the bigger picture and understand how the attract and retain business.

I had my husband with me, so I couldn't do the kind of walkthrough I wanted to do. But I made sure to check out their candle selection. I was really glad I did, they have every candle imaginable. Their prices were affordable. Definitely less expensive than ordering online. Plus it's nice to walk around and see all the options. They have an entire crystal and mineral section. I could have been in that store for hours. It had a family environment, parents shopping with their kids. If your kids are into metals, rocks, or crystals this spot is it. I wasn't looking but I'm sure they have D&D stuff and other fun gam I liked the store a lot. Some of these mystic shops have a witchy vibe, which isn't my thing. This place felt more wholesome. Something us old ancestral witches like. Lol I ended up buying several different types of candles, sage, and a Rose quartz for my meditation room. Next time, I go back. And if you're the owner of a metaphysical shop, do your research as to not sell goods that may be seen as disrespectful to large groups of people. Long version: Listen. You can get what you need most likely if you're spiritual from this shop, BUT-- there's a seeming lack of social responsibility that should concern my fellow respectful witches. They sell white sage and native/African cultural practice tools that are not appropriate for mass consumption. (Outside of people of those descents.) In their 7 day candle section there was an 'Indian power candle' referring to natives, along with the white smudge sticks and other tools of that nature. It is my understanding based upon the actual words of Native American people in the spiritual and witchcraft community that native sourced dream catchers and such ARE an appropriate thing to sell as long as actual Native Americans are the source of these goods and being compensated, but white sage is both unsustainable and not meant to be used outside of their closed practices. And using a native person as a mascot on your candle with the wrong terminology is beyond inappropriate.
