That's how much I trusted them. Some girl did the sloppiest work. My brows are not symmetrical in any way, and she left gel on ONE BROW. This is worse than being consistently bad. Raising expectations and failing to meet them, when I have an important meeting in hours, unforgivable. If you recognize the person inside, they're good. If some stranger is there, you're playing eyebrow roulette. This cannot even be repaired. I'm just screwed. And I trusted them.

They were super thin to begin with, and with age they had started to thin out even more. They were so thin, they disappeared in photos . Anyways, she helped me pick out color that would complement my ever changing hair color. The process it self isn't completely painless. She uses numbing creams on your brows so it is a lot less painful than getting a tattoo, but you do still feel the tools slightly on your skin. (A little) pain is beauty, right? Keep in mind your skin and your skin care routine can really impact how long it will take your brows to fade. You should expect to come in once a year for an annual touch up. Immediately after after a visit you'll need to avoid getting water on your brows for a day, and then avoid being in direct sunlight and sweating (I avoided taking cardio) for about a week for the ink to set. This is the same with tattoos (which I have a few of so I was prepared for this). Your brows will look darker than expected due to scabbing but your real brows will be revealed by the end of the week! One last thing to be prepared for: funny looks from people when your skin starts to heal and peel One patch of skin on my right brow which for no good reason just does not hold ink. It fades super quick compared to the rest which stays and fades consistently over a year, but this one spot just refuses to keep ink! Amy has been super helpful and nice in doing extra sessions to try going over that spot a bit extra. It's definitely easy enough to fill in this one spot with makeup but wanted to mention since Amy has done everything to to try to help it, but it's clearly an issue with that patch of skin. For you people who hate calling to make appointments, you can schedule online and even text her direct (I've sent photos of my brows this way) and she's super quick (within 24 hours) in responding!

I was chicken about this process because I wasn't sure about whether I could tolerate the pain or, even worse, I'd end up looking like Groucho Marx. I am not about the trendy, strong eyebrow game. I had been searching through Yelp and Facebook to see what reputable places offered microblading and I was about to head to Baltimore until I read all the reviews for Amy. And since location is also important, it helped that Microblading Magic & More was in Fairfax. Amy listens to your concerns and she definitely knows what she's doing. She makes herself available for any questions and she really knew what I wanted. She also told me exactly how my brows would heal, so I didn't freak out too too much. Amy knew that I didn't want strong brows, so I chose the shade lighter than black, which was maybe a brownish gray. During the healing process, your brows are pretty dark, and I actually grew to love the 'bolder' brows; so when I go back for my six week refresh, I'm choosing 'to go black.' I'm super happy that I took the plunge and got my eyebrows done. I had my misgivings, but beauty is pain right? We found this place and decided to try it out. I noticed that the technician used the string in her mouth. Other places I have visited no longer keep string in their mouths, but around their necks. Nevertheless, while watching my wife get her eyebrows done, the female technician worked fast and efficiently. The shop wasn't very busy, so we didn't have to wait long. I am glad we found this place. I am sure we will come back here again.

Would definitely recommend going to her to get your eyebrows microbladed. You can see all of her work on her instagram (@mybrow247) and the booking process was very straightforward. I texted the number on her instagram and was able to get an appointment for the following weekend. The day before my appointment, she texted me a reminder as well as pictures of the address/building number. Once I arrived, I washed my hands and got my temperature checked. Her studio is clean and I felt very safe the whole time. She customized my eyebrow shape and was very meticulous with the whole process, including checking how my eyebrows would move when opening and closing my eyes. During the process, she explained what she was doing and the tattoo part did not hurt (since your eyebrows get numbed, you can hear the sound but I personally didn't think it was painful). I'm obsessed with the result -- my eyebrows looked very natural and I am excited to see how they heal over the next coming weeks! I also booked a touch up appointment for 4 weeks from now.
