The whole process took about 2 hours. I took a Tylenol 30 minutes before my appointment as recommended in the pre-care instructions. First, Jenny drew on my eyeliner and confirmed it was the look I wanted. Next, she had my close my eyes and applied numbing cream to my upper lash line. I laid there for about 20 minutes and then she came back and gently scratched the upper lash line and applied more numbing cream and I laid for another 20 minutes. The actual tattooing portion wasn't exactly painful, but was highly unnerving because there was a tattoo gun on my eyeballs. I felt fine for most of it and only really felt pain toward the end when she was doing the finishing touches on the outer portion of my lash line (the inner corners and middle of the eye weren't painful whatsoever). I think this was because after having been gone over once the eye was more sensitive during the final touches. After the procedure she gave me an ice pack and I kept them on my closed eyes for a while before leaving. I would say that the two days after are the most uncomfortable part of the experience because your eyes are swollen. I iced them on an off the rest of the day the day of and as needed the following two days. She said it would be a bit swollen for the following day and then would be better, but for me it was more like 3 days until my eyes felt truly normal. I would recommend getting a cooling gel eye mask that you can wear the day or 2 after for simplicity. The days after aren't so bad you need to ice constantly and I think if I had had a cooling gel eye mask in my fridge I would have just used that to soothe the swelling. It's been 2 weeks since my procedure now and I've gotten fully accustomed to the look. It's soo nice that I look put together even when wearing absolutely no makeup. For the most part my daily makeup routine is just mascara and some lip balm or gloss so I loveeee not having to apply eyeliner. I'm also able to apply eyeshadow right over my eyeliner if I want and it will still show through. I've only actually drawn over my eyeliner once because I was going for a dramatic look. I would definitely recommend a natural look that you can play up if you want. Great experience overall! :)

She chaotically applied paint with a blade, making random cuts without even drawing a proper outline or sketch beforehand. As a result, one eyebrow was higher than the other, and their shapes were completely different. When I asked her to fix the mess, she was rude and refused to correct her mistakes. In the end, I paid to have my eyebrows ruined and had to spend even more time and money to fix them. I do not recommend her at all - you'll only end up with problems instead of beautiful eyebrows!

I had my eyebrows tinted with henna on June 21 after not having this service for several years due…read moreto not being local. Before the appointment, I mentioned that I have sensitive skin. Despite that, there was no discussion about whether the henna formula had changed since my previous visits, no explanation that the product contained PPD (a common allergen), and no offer to perform a patch test before applying the tint. Within hours of leaving the salon, my eyebrows became swollen, red, and intensely itchy. By the following day, I had developed clusters of blisters where the tint had been applied, and my skin was clearly having an allergic reaction. I spent Sunday treating the symptoms with Benadryl and Cortizone-10, and by Monday I had to seek care at urgent care, where I was diagnosed with allergic contact dermatitis and prescribed a stronger steroid cream. On Tuesday morning, I wrote an email requesting a refund and attaching a photo to which I have received no acknowledgment or reply. Unfortunately, the experience didn't end there. On Tuesday morning, I experienced an anxiety attack because of how severe the reaction had become. Later that afternoon, I developed a severe migraine, and over the following days I noticed eyebrow hairs beginning to fall out in the affected areas. The urgent care provider explained that my reaction was consistent with an allergy to PPD, a chemical commonly added to henna dyes to create a darker, longer-lasting color. While I understand that allergic reactions can happen and that salons are not medical professionals, PPD allergies are well documented. Given that I specifically mentioned having sensitive skin, I believe the salon should have informed me that the product contained PPD, discussed the risk of allergic reactions, asked about prior sensitivities, or at minimum offered a patch test before proceeding. I've had this same service at this salon in the past without incident, which makes the lack of any conversation about the product or potential risks even more disappointing. What should have been a routine cosmetic service resulted in weeks of pain, medication, medical treatment, significant stress, and temporary hair loss. I cannot recommend this service or salon based on my experience and the fact that I've received no reply to my email. Note that I am too upset over the event to call the salon again. I hope the salon takes additional precautions to better inform clients and help prevent someone else from going through what I did. While I previously supported this small business, I will never return.

Rani always shapes my eyebrows perfectly, even when I cheat on her and go see another eyebrow threader in between our visits. Haha. In the past month and a half, I have seen Rani twice for her new service of microblading; the second time was the touch up which I probably didn't even need because the first time she did it, they were perfect. I have been looking for eyebrow tattooing for a little over a year but never committed to going because I couldn't find anyone skilled and trustworthy. I was so happy to hear that Rani was licensed to microblade which is so much better than getting a permanent eyebrow tattoo. With this technique, I no longer have to fill my eyebrows in every morning. I just wake up and they are there looking beautiful and so natural. She literally paints each strand so it looks like hair, not just a blob of pigment. And it matches my eyebrow color spot on! I will continue to go to Rani for all of my eyebrow needs.
