My mother had an eye infection & needed antibiotics 4 times a day, which she was not receiving. We had to insist, but the nurse was adamant about what she wanted to do. Took my mother off her incontinence medication. They changed her insulin medication. They took her off her diarrhea medication that was prescribed by her gastrontrologist. My brother walked in at lunchtime one weekend,& her meal tray was at the sink. Not even close to her so she could eat. And how is she supposed to eat If he didn't walk in to give it to her. I walked in on the same day of the same weekend & she was in bed in a diaper with her bedroom Door closed. How is she supposed to call out for help if she needed help, for no one to hear her with the door closed. Just recently she was being discharged on Friday, & I walked in at lunchtime, she was in a diaper, and a top in bed, flat on her back while all the staff was down the hall. She was saturated, I had to change her clothes. The staff was not even near my mother & my mother was not feeling well. I asked them to check her blood sugar as she's a diabetic, it was 63. I ended up calling the paramedics because they wouldn't call. She had to be taken to the hospital. It turns out that she had a uti infection. They also threw her antibiotics away when i was looking for them. Who does that? They wanted to kill her. I would never recommend this Rehab facility to anyone.

I used this agency since November of 2017 for 24/7 home health care for my mother. At least four times in the last month, when an aid called out sick, a replacement was never sent leaving me in a crisis. Many of the aids were not professional. Many didn't greet her when they arrived. They spent endless hours on their cell phones and didn't engage with my mother. They questioned whether I was giving my mother her needed medication. The evening that my mother past away, was one of the evenings that no one showed nor were any replacements sent. And to add insult to injury the following evening an aid showed up which the agency had never cancelled. Lastly, the owner of the agency never even called to express condolences after my mother's passing. For the out of pocket cost that I was paying, I expected more professionalism.

With that being said: my experience with VNS was absolutely discouraging for our health care system/provider. My father came home for (home hospice) on a Thursday afternoon. The assessment nurse was kind: however I say this respectfully..I couldn't understand what she was saying because she had a heavy accent. She went over his medication and assessed his body, took pictures of wounds etc. she did not do vitals or anything. (I don't know if that was a requirement) We were not provided with any medicine or supplies. Not even a little starter kit until something came in the mail. Friday My dad was having labored breathing. I called the 212-609-1920 and they advised me to give him some morphine. Ummmm with what you guys don't give us anything. NO INSTRUCTIONS. NOTHING. I had to call 911 - he was unresponsive. He was rushed to the hospital on Friday afternoon and passed away early Saturday morning. My recommendation: DON' T USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! I am going all the way to the top with this complaint. I won't rest until I get proper ethical change with the company. It won't be about money. This is about PRINCIPLE.
