I visit her once a month (or so) and we have gone to the resident dining maybe twenty times. From the first time I was shocked by the quality of the food. My first time I was expecting an old-school cafeteria-style food service with metal trays and food slopped onto the plate. This was completely different. The food was shockingly good, and the meal of the day (lunch) always has a soup, a main meal and a dessert. It's not overly fancy but the food in actually really tasty and they give you good size portions. The staff are very attentive and polite and the experience is a very pleasant dining experience. Today we had garden vegetable soup along with pot roast, scalloped potatoes and peas, with apple pie for dessert. The pot roast was excellent and the potatoes were exceptional. You know the food is good when the head chef/manager of food service is there talking with residents to make sure she gets feedback concerning the food that she prepared. Currently the dining area in being remodeled and should be done by the end of this year. So, the dining area currently is less then amazing, and what they can offer is limited. I'm looking forward to the new dining experience once they have their grand opening later this year.

Choosing a memory care facility that provides the same love and attention you wish you could offer…read moreyour loved ones is incredibly challenging. After exploring several options in the Rancho Cucamonga area, we found the perfect fit for our sister Katherine at Cadence Senior Living. The team of experienced staff, including Ann, Cheryl, Natalie, Leyla, Kayla, and many others, exceeded our expectations. Their expertise in caring for dementia patients is remarkable. Katherine faced several challenges due to her dementia, but the staff handled each situation with exceptional patience every step of the way. They are genuinely caring, patient, and loving toward her. The environment is crucial for dementia patients, and I believed it would be especially important for Katherine. Cadence Senior Living is beautiful, featuring bright, airy hallways adorned with colorful paintings and a lovely outdoor patio for memory care patients. There is plenty of music for Katherine to enjoy, along with numerous activities for the residents to participate in. Ann Berry-Gallegos

The only reason for the 1 star, is to acknowledge the handful of caregivers that treated my mother…read morewith care and kindness. My mother was at Cadence for just over a year. The care, food and cleanliness would vacillate dramatically from week to week. The "med techs" handed out the medication, but were not capable of handling anything more serious. Upon responding to my mother's complaint that she could not catch her breath, the "med tech" said her room was too warm and opened a window. The next morning I took her to the ER and she was admitted to the hospital for a week. Her room (as well as several others) had frequent ant infestations. If the ants showed up after maintenance went home for the evening, you were on your own to buy spray and eradicate them. It was also quite unfortunate that the dead ants were never cleaned up after being sprayed, even though the rooms were "cleaned weekly". It was like having a dead ant boneyard throughout the apartment. The actions were always "reactive" and never "proactive". When she moved in, we did not test the stove to confirm it would work and when I went to cook her dinner, we discovered that the stove was not connected. Money was wasted on the food that was purchased and it was too late for her to get anything from the kitchen. It took several days to get the stove connected. Her thermostat did not work for the last month she stayed there (as well as several other residents) and was still not fixed well over a month after she left. She moved out in the middle of November, 2025 and we are still waiting for a $2000+ refund. I cannot reach anyone at the corporate office. When I reach out to the person who handles to finances at Cadence, I am unable to get contact information for anyone at the Cogir USA corporate office. Save your money and frustration and look elsewhere. We could not afford to move her out sooner or we most certainly would have.

Staff…read moreinitiated life-saving measures without verifying her status, despite her DNR being on file in her binder and the office being only five doors away. They did not check her records or ask the office to confirm before acting. I filed a formal complaint with the Department of Social Services, and it was found to be substantiated of both a Type A and Type B violation. This is public record and available on the DSS website. Additionally, neither my brother nor I were notified when my mother passed away. I learned of her death two hours later when a Sheriff answered her phone when I called, which was devastating. If you are considering Allara for a loved one who has a DNR, please ask detailed questions, confirm procedures, and make a clear plan to ensure their wishes are honored. https://www.ccld.dss.ca.gov/carefacilitysearch/FacDetail/361881134

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make my grandfather feel welcome and at home. They quite literally rolled out the red carpet for him such a thoughtful and touching gesture that made him feel like a VIP from day one! A special thank you to Brenda, who was nothing short of amazing throughout the entire process. Her warmth, patience, and genuine care made all the difference. She took the time to get to know my grandfather, answered all of our questions, and made sure every detail was handled with kindness and professionalism. Thanks to her, what could've been a stressful transition turned into a beautiful experience. We are so thankful to have found a place where my grandfather feels comfortable, respected and truly cared for. This facility gave our family peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands.
