We used a coagulant on it. It was a tear. Only a dog bite could had done that.

The staff is friendly and my dog loves it there. However, they lack integrity. I can understand accidents and mistakes, things can happen. All I wanted to know was an explanation as to how he got his ear got cut really bad. On the day it happened, I was informed that he had an altercation with a larger dog. That made sense. Today, I merely wanted to know about the other dog and their whole story changed completely; They weren't there to see what happened, they just heard barking and he was just bleeding all of a sudden. They went as far to say that it's all the same friendly dogs he always plays with and none were larger than him. I was willing to let all of this go till my wife sent me a transcribed voicemail on her phone , with a time and date with the name of the employ, specifically stating the dog had been in an altercation with another dog, thus proving that I was lied to today. I told them that he is healing ok and there is no vet bill, so why did they see fit to lie? What a shame.

Uneven cuts...everywhere, including the top of their heads.

We have given this place one more chance for the last time. We are NEVER charged the same price twice and have the history to back that up. What's worse, is we get different cuts each time. Last time, in September, we were told our Goldendoodles were "unicorns" in that they were so well brushed when we brought them in. This time, same dogs, same amount of brushing, we were told they were matted and they had to try and "camouflage" the odd cutting because of the mats in the rear of their legs and on the butt. Not true. Even if it were true, why is the hair so uneven EVERYWHERE including the top of the head?!!!! They were SWAMPED, and I suspect that was the real issue. The girl who cut it last time was not there this time, which I think is another contributing factor. Regardless, there was simply no excuse to charge over $100.00 PER DOG for a shoddy haircut. We will NOT return. Ever.

I LOVE THIS PLACE....Jennifer (Owner) is VERY personable and she remembers her regulars. My lil 1yr old Morkie literally jumps around the car as soon as we make the turn by the light. She knows where we are going. When she sees Jennifer, she is going crazy. I wish yelp would let me upload a video to prove this. I have done Daycare and Grooming and I am OVERJOYED with the service. When I saw Jennifer sitting on the ground in the yard with the fur babies, all I could say is WOW! Whenever I call or email, the response is always prompt and there is great customer service. I AM A FINICKY PERSON...But, when I see a business that is WORTHY, it's only right that I SHARE it.... The pictures I am attaching is a snip from the video. My baby Izzy saw Jennifer walk by and just starting going from seat to seat, looking at me as if to say....OPEN THE DOOR!!! I've been to 3 other locations in the Allen/Plano area....They don't compare. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS !!!

Have been going for years. Great customer service and Laney does a great job on my dog Potter. He loves going there also.

The cut is fine. it's pretty much what I asked for and the people were friendly. No major concerns like the ones I read in other reviews. I dropped her around 8:15 and she was ready around 11:30, I think. I have a cavalier King Charles Spaniel and they cut her fur short around the feet (which I'm happy with) and trimmed down her ears (which I'm happy with). I know there are some CKCS owners who are very particular with how their pup is groomed so I'm sharing that detail. I have never taken the dog to a groomer so I was shocked by the price - I think it was around $70? That's more that what I spend on my hair cut! Lol. That may be normal, I don't know. But...Because I'm frugal, I'll be cutting her fur myself moving forward. Done it before and turned out ok!

Our boys CHOPPED EARS!!!! These used to be long and luxurious! This "groomer" was so lazy, she just hacked off his hair!
    Jennifer K.

I will NEVER take my dogs here again!!!! I took my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels here the day before Thanksgiving. If you're a King Charles owner, most of you know NOT to cut their hair!!! I was very specific in telling the owner I absolutely DO NOT want their hair cut, only if there were knots they absolutely could NOT comb out. These people had no clue what they were doing obviously!!! My male, who has a really thick coat, omg.... They have RUINED his coat! They were so lazy, they didn't even try to comb him out.... They just SHAVED HIM!!! His once gorgeous long slippers on his feet (which took YEARS to grow out!!) are GONE! SHAVED TO HIS NAILS! Also, his once long and beautiful coat on his belly is GONE! This isn't even the worst part... When we picked them up, it took several long minutes to get a straight answer from 3 of the people working there, where our dogs were. They kept looking at one another, avoiding the question. Then, one of them came out and stuttered something about "his hurt leg". Ummm... WHAT?!?! He didn't go in your shop hurt!!! She said when she had him on the table he must've "pulled" something because he started yelping and limping! They were hurrying us out the door, no one would give us a straight explanation! Once we got both of our babies in the car, they weren't their usual peppy selves- they were clinging on to each other, trembling, scared to death. Like they had been tortured or something! I have never in my life seen them act this way!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE!!!!!!!! I'm going to do more research on this place and get to the bottom of this. I am beyond outraged!!!! ***MAKE SURE TO READ THE OTHER REVIEWS THAT YELP HAS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THIS PLACE! ISURE WISH I WOULD HAVE BEFORE TAKING MINE HERE!!!! I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO!!! I AM REPORTING THIS PLACE TO THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES FOR THEM TO FOLLOW UP- I THINK THERE IS SOME SORT OF ABUSE GOING ON BEHIND CLOSED DOORS OUT OF THE CUSTOMERS VIEW!!!!****

**WARNING!!** Before You Trust The Mutt Puddle With Your Dog -- Read This First!!!…read more As a new customer, I recieved that red carpet treatment that makes you think you've finally found "the place." The lesson I learned this time is that the true character of a business isn't revealed when everything goes right. It's revealed when something goes wrong. My situation started with a grooming appointment. The Korean cut I requested wasn't what I received. However, that was not my biggest concern. A really bad grooming job grows back, and I could have easily laughed that off and moved on. What I couldn't overlook was that my tiny 5lb Maltese had a puncture wound (the size of a pencil tip eraser) under her chin and a belly covered in abrasions (guessing from hot clippers). When I got home and discovered the injuries, I emailed TMP immediately. I expected: concern for her well-being and a sincere effort to make things right. Instead, I got a lengthy email about "miscommunication" regarding the grooming. I got an apology. What I didn't get was the one thing I was looking for: genuine human concern for my injured dog. Accidents happen. A mistake and owning it does not automatically lose a customer. The solution was never complicated. A simple acknowledgment (regardless of how it happened). My tiny dog came home hurt and that mattered. A refund as a gesture of respect. Before writing this review, I posted this scenario online in a small dog group. I asked a few simple questions: Would you be upset by these injuries? Is "sorry for the miscommunication" enough? Should a refund be offered? Would you return? The majority of the people who responded to the survey are dog lovers, breeders, rescue shelter owners, show dog handlers, vets and professional groomers who unanimously agreed that they would be upset and that they would not return. Several professionals commented that while accidents can happen, transparency and accountability matter. One comment stood out above all the others: "When I read the salon's response, I don't see a groomer saying, 'I'm concerned about Tina.' I see a business saying, 'You can't prove this was us.'" That perfectly captured what I had been struggling to put into words for this review. David Vargas from TMP responded to that online post. Instead of empathy, there were disclaimers. Instead of a heartfelt attempt to make things right, there was a carefully crafted argument about why I shouldn't feel the way I do. He accused me of painting the business in a bad light. No. I simply described what happened and how it was handled. When your instinct is to defend your reputation instead of showing concern for an injured animal, the picture pretty much paints itself. This experience was extremely upsetting for my family, traumatic for our Tina, and I worry about her demeanor when I take her to a new groomer. She's such a tiny baby and to minimalize our situation has been heartbreaking. Our pets rely entirely on us to protect them and on the professionals caring for them to uphold the trust placed in their hands. For all animal lovers, that trust is sacred. One of the most concerning things I discovered after this experience was The Mutt Puddle's liability policy. Their policy (search for it online) states; that pet owners assume all responsibility when leaving their pets in the salon's care and that The Mutt Puddle and its staff will not be held responsible for injuries, deaths, medical bills, clipper burns, cuts, stress-related issues, or nearly any other problem that may arise during grooming. Reading this after my little girl was injured helped me understand why David Vargas response was defensive .. rather than showing (on a case by case basis) concern for my dog and respect for me as a valuable client. I understand that policies exist BUT they should protect everyone involved, not one sided AND they should never replace compassion, responsibility, and concern for an animal's well-being. New and existing customers should read their policies carefully and decide for themselves whether that reflects the kind of care they want for their pets. We've lost complete trust in The Mutt Puddle and will not go back. They have taught me the difference between customer service and reputation control. Good luck with that business model.

The groomer continued being condescending, I had to stop her and tell her, "it seems like you are having a bad day and you don't have to groom my dog, we can cancel". She quickly changed her attitude. What a disappointing first experience! My dog was able to get groomed. The cut was actually great. Sunday evening my son was out at Lake Lavon and saw a couple of stray labradoodles eating in the trash. So he brought them home and although we tried, the doodles had been loose in the brush and thickets around the lake for some time and their coats were full of burrs and sticker bushes. It was terrible. We tried to do the best cleaning we could so that at least the female doodle could eat again as the burrs were all around her mouth, but they were still in rough shape. Was planning on taking them to the Allen shelter Monday morning but they wouldn't take them as they were found outside city limits and said contact the county shelter. Unfortunately county shelter is closed on Mondays. I decided to get them a professional groom to clean them up properly but no one would see them on such short notice. A few told me that they could see them in a month even after I explained the situation. :( I called Bark and Purr and although they were closed for renovations, the owner Linda listened to the story about the doodles and told me to bring them immediately and she'll take care of them personally. And she did. Not only did they give them a shampoo and cleaning but also offered to let them stay in their kennels until we found the owners or could place them with the DFW doodle rescue as we have 2 pups and limited space. She then sent out the picture of the doodles to all her accounts and sure enough one of their customers knew the doodles' owners and contacted the owners and they were reunited. In the end not only did Bark and Purr Grooming go above and beyond what other groomers would do but also helped to reunite the doodles with their family just for the love of all animals. I couldn't have done it myself and I truly appreciated how much care Bark and Purr showed to these poor lost doodles. Highly recommend this business in every way I can.
