It was very quiet and serene. So peaceful! - Location! It was perfect as far as being just far enough away from Williams that you weren't in the hustle and bustle. But close enough that you could just run down into the grocery store or all the different activities that are close. - History: if you're into history, all the different pieces and QR codes are really neat to look at. -Ice and laundry on site: easily available, very clean, and a nice environment while waiting for laundry to be done. Mixed Reviews: - Amenities: The kitchen has everything you need for short stay but not a lot of room to work. While cooking dinner, we had to move different things around just to have enough space to prepare a meal and cook it. The website also doesn't list out the amenities so it's hard to tell what the room will or will not come with to feel prepared. -Bed: My husband and I both said this is the worst bed we ever slept on. I know many of the reviews said that it was amazing and I think it comes down to your preference of mattress. It is a memory foam so we found that when we laid in one position, we sunk deep down into it and when you went to roll to your side, you got stuck in that divot. -AC: Boy does it get the room cold! I always run cold and was very uncomfortable. My husband always runs hot and loved it. So just depends on your preference. Mostly an issue because we couldn't get it to regulate to somewhere in the middle. - Couch: It looks super cute aesthetically! And it pulls out to a sleeper bed for extra room if you're coming with more people. We were trying to sit on it and watch a movie for a quiet night in and as soon as you sit on it, the bottom part rolls out from under you, wanting to go into sleep mode. We spent more time adjusting the couch than sitting on it, making it very uncomfortable. Cons: -Check Out: They expect you to wash the dishes you use. Thankfully, we brought our own sponges because the only cleaning item they give you is a bristle brush. They also ask that you bag and dispose of your own trash. Not a huge deal as the big dumpster is right next to where you drive out. Personally, I feel like these should come with part of the cleaning after you leave though. -Cleaning: You text the cleaner when you leave. While the main room and the bedroom are very clean, the bathroom was not. The toilet had a toilet ring and there was curly hair left on the bathroom floor when we arrived from the previous person. Overall, most issues are a preference thing. The couch and the bed were really the huge issue for us that would make it where we would not come back simply out of needing a good night sleep.

The last time I was here was well over ten years ago. I have been a huge astronomy nerd since I was a kid. This place has changed so much since I last came here. They did an impressive job with the expansion and upgrades. We enjoyed exploring the Discovery Center and walking on the outdoor pathway to the telescopes. Lowell Observatory is one of the oldest observatories in the U.S. and was founded by astronomer Percival Lowell. It was at Lowell that American astronomer and telescope maker Clyde Tombaugh discovered the dwarf planet Pluto in 1930. The original telescope (called an astrograph) is still here at Lowell Observatory and you can check it out while exploring this place. We came here in the evening and enjoyed walking around under the stars. There is a Mars Rover parked outside that greets you when you enter. The new Marley Foundation Astronomy Discovery Center is three levels and has a gift shop and a cafe. On the roof is the open-air Dark Sky Planetarium that offers a 360-degree view of the night sky. There are games, activities and science exhibits in the Discovery Center for both kids and adults. After spending some time here, we went to check out the telescopes. The walking path around Lowell Observatory is my favorite part. The outdoor pathway is illuminated by glow-in-the-dark art depicting the Pleiades, comets and the Milky Way. We walked over to the Giovale Open Deck Observatory first. It was too cloudy to see anything through the telescopes on the evening that we were here. So we headed over to the dome that houses the Pluto Discovery Telescope. They have renovated this telescope since I was last here. It got a paint job and looks nicer. It was really cool to be in the same spot where history was made a hundred years ago. I highly recommend checking Lowell Observatory. I am biased because I am a huge science nerd. But they really did do a nice job with the new upgrades. Come here at night when you can gaze at the stars.

We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor exhibits, especially sun viewing through telescope, walking the scaled galaxy walk and the dome telescope where Pluto was discovered. We came back at night for stargazing . Such a wonderful experience. It gets cold so wear jackets and layers at night. They had glow in dark paths to illuminate walking. And sky viewing was magical!! There were multiple telescopes through which we saw stars, galaxies, star clusters. Even the observatory helpers had a laser pointer to point out constellations. All the stars for this observatory! I did not have any major issues staying here. The room I got was a pet-friendly, 2-queen bedroom which came with a decent size minifridge and microwave. The room was a little dark on the inside, but comfortable. The 2 downsides of pet-friendly rooms is that pet owners are often lumped together, so if people talk too loudly or slam doors, it causes a dog-barking chain reaction. The first night here was BRUTAL because my dog (and other dogs) would and could not stop barking. The second downside was how loud the A/C unit is because my dog could not stop barking at it when it turned on. After the first night, my dog was calm because he knew what to expect from the A/C and the neighbors. The hot breakfast is nothing to write home about...it's the standard eggs, sausage, bread, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, juice and coffee offerings. The staff stood out though. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! Overall, had a satisfying stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Sedona.

The drive was scenic into town and I didn't mind the drive at all. Jacuzzi was hot and larger size than normal which we enjoyed on our stay too. Best of all, free breakfast with a cook assigned to make a hot item. ( I've been to many hotels and this is the first time I've seen this offered at this level hotel ) . Plus a nice yogart station with various toppings. Fresh fruit offered too ( bananas and oranges ) . Bread cart was good too with many options and spreads . I will most definitely consider this brand in the future.
