Extremely disappointing experience…read more Like many of the other reviews, my experience with Helen started out perfectly fine. She was polite and friendly, and I had been a customer without any problems. Unfortunately, her behavior toward me changed dramatically one day, and the experience was so upsetting that I waited a full year before writing this review. I arrived for my appointment, sat down, and explained how I wanted my nails done. Helen had earbuds in and was clearly engaged in another conversation or listening to something. I repeatedly tried to communicate what I wanted, but I felt completely dismissed and ignored. The situation became much worse when she began using the drill to remove my polish. She repeatedly hurt/burned me, and each time I instinctively pulled my hand away. I told her that it was hurting me and asked her to stop. Instead of listening, she became extremely angry and insisted that it didn't hurt. That's when I noticed she had her earbuds on and had NOT listened to anything I said. She told me I was the rude one and continued arguing with me. At that point, I was incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassed. She was raising her voice and making a scene, and I honestly felt so shocked that I didn't even know how to respond or simply get up and leave. My understanding was that she had another appointment scheduled after mine and was trying to save time by drilling the polish off rather than letting it soak. But rushing to the next appointment is never an excuse for ignoring a client's concerns or continuing something that is causing pain. I have never been treated this way by someone providing a service. If you are working directly with a client, the very least you should do is listen to them--especially when they tell you that something hurts. Wearing earbuds, being distracted by a heated personal conversation or a show, and then becoming angry when the customer asks to be heard is simply not acceptable. Her husband is very nice and does a good job with pedicures, although I have had some issues with the polish and overall nail work. Unfortunately, because of my experience with Helen, I would not recommend returning. It's simply not inexpensive enough to justify being dismissed, ignored, and treated disrespectfully. Clients deserve to feel comfortable, heard, and respected while they're paying for a service.

They apparently "do not offer preventative care" and as a result, insurance will not reimburse!…read more I visited this location as a referral from my PCP. The PA I met with was very kind and helpful, and overall my experience in the office was great. That all changed when I got the bill. I had visited for a skin cancer screening, that's what I said when I made the appointment, that's what I did in the office, but when I was billed by them for the lab work, they didn't bill it as preventative care. As a result, my insurance didn't cover the tests (even though it was in-network) and I am having to pay out of pocket. If you are planning to pay out of pocket, I do think they are worth visiting, but if you plan to use insurance, think twice! Update responding to comment: I have already spoken to the billing department. They were the first people I called when I ran into issues. In fact, I was going to write a 5 start review initially, but after speaking to billing and being told, quite rudely, that you "don't offer preventative care" I came here to share my experience with others.

My first experience was at a chain operation and it was horrific. I was uncomfortable and in pain. Determined there had to be better options I was pleasantly pleased to find Wax Chic Boutique. I expressed my anxieties and Jennifer walked me through every step and made what can be a frightening or painful experience both tolerable and informative. The space is well appointed with lovely decor and there are items for purchase to enhance your skincare routine. I highly recommend if you are looking for a pleasant first time experience look no further. I can promise you you'll not want to go anywhere else or go back to your previous hair removal options.

And they don't grow back quickly. My eyebrow pencil and concealer skills can only stretch me but so far so I knew it was time for a clean up. Jennifer has done my eyebrows (with tinting) in the past and did an immaculate job so I decided to hit her up today. So overjoyed that I did! Precision! P. R. E. C. I. S. I. O. N. (did I spell that right the second time?) That is what you'll get when you visit Jennifer. She initially asked me how I like my brows. I like them thick just like me... oops getting off topic. Anywho, she executed my request perfectly. Eyebrows are still full and arched to perfection. She took her time to wax and then tweeze all of the misguided hairs. She followed up with filling in my brows with a brow pencil (totally optional). Spent so much time talking about my brows I forgot to mention I got my underarms waxed too. Underarms on fleek as well.
