Miguel repaired my TV. The TV is a non-smart TV for an elderly person that needs simple, easy to operate tv. These are difficult to find now. The screen went black but you could see the picture if you shined a bright light on it and you could hear the audio. The LED backlighting failed. I took it in, Miguel in the back of the store ordered the replacement LEDs and repaired the TV. Took about 2 1/2 weeks. 40" screen TV repair was $120.00. It's more if the TV is larger however. I've been coming to Mike for over 10 years, first I needed my Vox amp fixed, I had no idea how to repair it but he got it working, then I acquired a 1970's distortion amp and I couldn't figure how to get it working but Mike got it going. A musician that comes out with their vintage equipment working has a great night playing. Now I come these days to pick up rare cabling that you can't get at Best Buy, If Mike don't have, he'll get it for you in a few days. Well to sum this might look like an aging shop, with a little bit of dust here in there, or maybe even a lot of dust here and there. But anyway you look at it or rated, it's really exciting to know that this place exists. That this place will repair things like turntables and TVs, at this place has parts parts and more parts, to fit all kinds of electrical goodies. I even found things to replace the lighters on my gas stove. With RadioShack in the background now forever, it's a real wonderful thing to find a store like this that is so well equipped to fix those things that need fixing, so we don't have to replace everything. I really didn't want to drive all the way to SLO to beg the Audio Doctor to fix my turntable. Based on a referral, I stopped by the Electronics Parts Store. When I walked in, a little after noon, and saw the clutter and the mess in the front of the store, I almost walked out. However, when I spoke with Miguel he seemed to indicate he could fix the tone arm "in two days." It would have been at least ten days in SLO. I say "seemed to indicate" because sometimes communication about status of repair was a little confusing. When I checked back in two days just to ask about progress (I was in the neighborhood) at 1:30 pm, it was apparent he hadn't even looked at it. However, he said he would get right on it and have it "in 45 minutes." I always double or triple the time given by all repair people, so, about an hour and half later I checked in - about three pm. He said he would have it by the close of business. I told him I'd pick it up in the morning. When I did, it worked great! However, even though I told Miguel the turntable was brand new (a month and a half old), an employee had already set something on top of the dust cover and made a small scratch. When I mentioned it Miguel said he had already ordered a new replacement. Very nice, but I told him not to worry about it. So...I guess I would recommend EPS for repairs. Just look past the mess, make sure you have clear communication with Miguel, and double check your product when you pick it up. Pretty much like you would with any other repair shop. If possible, Miguel needs to clean up and make the store and his repair area look professional. He also needs to work on time management. I imagine he is buy working on the parts sales and has to find the time to work on repairs. read more

This place is a JOKE!!! I brought my 80in. TV for repairs, he told me it would only take a week. There was no communication unless I called him (which he was acting like I was bothering him) with no updates. I finally go pick up my TV after 3 weeks, he had it by the front door and not put in a secure place!! I can't really recommend the service at this place: I walked in, and, perhaps based on my appearance (some dumpy sloppy beardy guy in a T-shirt) the one clerk present decided to completely, absolutely, 100% ignore me. I wandered around the store for like 15 minutes, long enough to find what I was interested in (potentiometers), and see the rest of their stock (wide range of mostly low-end equipment), and then I walked out. read more

I have done business with Electronics Parts Store since Mike opened about 5 years ago. Mike is a true professional and is knowledgeable in almost all aspects of electronics and their service. The only negative of significance is that he is usually extremely busy, meaning that you must be able to accommodate delays on repair items. Had a broken connector for an older external disk drive. The disk had been used as the single backup for pictures for a number of years and we really wanted to be able to recover the files. Okay, so I dropped off my sound bar just to get looked at 2 weeks ago. I called, and left messages with no returned calls. Finally, I walked in and behold my sound bar, sitting around in the front of the store still by the register, untouched. I said has this been here the whole time and no ones called me back? All I got were excuses, no one even apologized to me, and the cashier had the nerve to instead say "we'll look at all this other stuff we have to do." How rude. Instead of admitting they FORGOT ABOUT ME. I wouldn't even be writing this if I had gotten an "I'm sorry" but I had to ask for that too because this place is poorly managed. They tell me it's next and I say ok I expect a call today. The repair man calls me and tells me my unit is fine. This could have been done faster than two weeks for sure, bc it was checked on in the same two hours! Then the comments came about how my stuff was low grade junk anyways and if I have issues go buy a new one. Also, my speaker still doesn't work. read more

I came in to this store to get the cords replaced on two of my nail dryers. The man was able to help me with both of my nail dryers and saved me so much money. He just replaced the cords on them for me. One he didn't have in stock so he special ordered it for me. Talk about amazing customer service!!! read more

Mike was so helpful with my iPhone charging issue. He tried multiple avenues to help me get power to my phone (the contacts were not responding to my charging cords). He located an adaptor that must have had more contacts because my phone was finally responding. This relieved a lot of stress so that I could save important data. I had to ask him to charge me more on my bill, since he did not charge me for his time/effort trying to repair my only responsive cord).
