Last Sunday I had a spa pedicure at Elegance nails and was extremely pleased with the careful and relaxing reflexology treatment and the entire experience, especially the kindness and professional treatment by the owner and Mimi my technician. This was a first pedicure here as I usually went to Cozy Nails down the block which is cramped, crowded and glaringly lite with harsh fluorescent lights and where one of the owners Ruby is rude and abrasive in how she speaks to her clients. Additional positive comparisons are that there is no surcharge to use one's credit card at Elegance Nails and one gets a "Frequent Flyer" card that entitles one to a free pedicure after paying for ten. The owner also walked around asking his clients if they were comfortable or wanted bottles of water? All things not done at Cozy Nails, so Ruby, thank you for haranging me and telling me to "find some nice new nail salon." My only regret is that Kim who was my main tech and who gave me excellent pedicures was not there to thank for her excellent work. Treat yourself to a visit to Elegance Spa and Nail Salon. read more

Sucky Stanley. 'm so sorry to write this miserable review on this wonderful business. I've been coming here for years, probably since shortly after they opened. Lin is wonderful, as are their other professional, lovely technicians. i have long since moved to Atlanta, but come back to visit my parents. I had just driven 15 hours & came in for my mani/pedi, thank you Lin! Went to pay & am informed that I cannot put the tip on the credit card any longer. I had zero cash with me. Other businesses that have this practices at least have their people set up with Venmo. I don't carry checks & didn't have my debit card with me. I told the manager. Now good customer service dictates, ok, we will allow you to add a tip to the card, but please keep in mind for the next time that you must tip in cash. Nope, not their manager Sucky Stanley! I said, you will allow your employee to not be tipped? Nothing from Sucky Stanley! I was livid! I did overreact & say I wouldn't return, of course I will because they do a great job. It didn't end there. When I was leaving I asked good old Sucky Stanley for the owner's name & phone # & Sucky Stanley said there wasn't any! I said, I'm sorry, are you telling me there is no owner & Sucky Stanley said No, there is no owner! Oh, Sucky Stanley, you really are not management material! Please avoid this place. I have been rudely treated twice by James. The first time he told me cash only for tips. There is no sign saying this. Then the second time I gave cash tip. He looked at it and threw it down to the side. Few minutes later while polishing my nails, he picked it up again, looked at it and threw it again. That is very rude. Please do no go here!!!!!!! They charged me 150 without ever telling me the price of what I'm getting. A pedicure cost 25 (the menu said that) I got a gel pedicure and that raise the price to 50 HOW?!?! I thought the increase would be 10 maybe 15 dollars not the price of the service itself. Then they charged me 100 for acrylic with gel on my natural nail! At Mai Nail Salon that service is like 60 and they actually know what they are doing!!! Not to mention they were trying so hard to get me to do UV Gel when I told them what I wanted. I said no to them about 10 times before they finally stopped pushing the UV Gel on me. I've always had good nails done however they do mess up and have re do things quite often. I went in today and a lady had to take my gel off. When the guy doing my nails took the foil off he realized that she hadn't done it correctly and had to try again. The guy doing my hands then messed up my thumb and had to do it again. This is my go to place for mani/pedis and eyebrow waxing. Prices are right, quality of service is spot on, and the place itself is very very clean and well maintained. Why did I knock off a star? Its related to the service. A few weeks ago when I dropped in the lady I had asked me how many weeks pregnant I was. I wasn't pregnant. Granted, I was 2 weeks postpartum but she shouldn't be asking that anyway. Also, my venture to Elegance was my first solo outing since having given birth two weeks prior and between sleep deprivation with a newborn at home and feeling like an overall whisper of who I once was the last thing I needed was someone telling me I still look pregnant! To top it off, I came back a month later and had the same woman, who looked hard at my stomach and said "oh you just had a baby, right?". Again, the last thing I want to hear postpartum which definitely is not helping me to feel better about myself. I suppose I'm writing this mostly for the owner with a request that she coach her staff on what NOT to say to customers. I'm all for small talk, but this is just ridiculous. There are five or six to choose from so I figured I would do a manicure at each to get a feel for them so I wasn't committing to a more expensive service that I might not like. Elegance was my first stop and it was disappointing. It was a busy Sunday and their priority seemed to be turning over customers. They told me a five minute wait and it wound up being 15. I had the male employee with the tattoo sleeve. He rushed through my manicure finishing it in less than 15 minutes. They don't soak your nails here which I find to be odd. Anyway, he was friendly enough and I was going to go with three stars until I left and realized that he didn't even properly file my nails. I broke the tip of a nail earlier in the week and when I left elegance it still looked broken. He barely filed my nails. Ridiculous. They charge 12 for a manicure but currently are offering 20% off. I've been doing powder nails for the past year and a half having been turned on to SNS and Nextgen by my Granddaughter. Previously my nails were ravaged by ridges causing vertical splitting and age according to my dermatologist and manicures I did myself that lasted for a day. Since then I've had beautiful long pink and white french manicured nails going about once a month to have them done at Bliss in Hartsdale and Fifth Avenue Nails during our winters in Boca Raton, FL. I never had a problem and have enjoyed long groomed nails until today. I stopped into Elegance closer to our summer residence on Garth Rd. to get prices and find out if they had the expertise required for doing powder nails. I was told by the woman who seemed to be the spokesperson they were experienced in the procedure. Wrong!!!! She couldn't even get the prior application off my nails the way it's usually done. When it didn't all come off with the first application of acetone she used a tweezer type of instrument to dig under the the previous powder coating and pull at it, breaking several of my fragile nails. I tried to tell her to use more acetone but even though she was the best English speaker in the place she didn't seem to know the language well enough. I blame myself for sitting there and allowing her to continue assaulting and damaging my nails. I finally finally had had enough and realized that she lied about knowing how to remove and replace SNS manicures. For tonight I'll have bandaids on my nails to save what's left of them until I can get to Bliss on Central Ave. in the morning I'm sorry but I don't believe anyone would give this place 5 stars who has fragile nails and had them do the powder manicure. They did a polish change on my toes for $13. Fine. But I'll never go back except to tell that woman off. Don't believe the 5 star reviews are written by someone who doesn't work in this place. I needed a gel soak off and after the soak the rude woman started filing my nails (uneven and crooked) and when I asked her to please be a little more even she told me I had to pay for a manicure if I wanted them even. How rude. Also a new customer man walked in and asked for a basic pedicure and they Upsold the green tea pedicure and when he said he wanted the regular she said "ok, a regular green tea" poor guy got tricked and taken advantage of. When this places started business it was really great - clean, spacious, good service and reasonable prices. After more than a year in operation it is still clean and spacious, however the good service is long gone. Entering you can hear the angry owner shouting in Korean to her employees. Not great when you are trying to relax... My daughter and I went for manicure. We was treated like cows on the slaughter line - mechanical and as quickly in and out as possible, I think the whole process for us lasted not more than 10-12 min. I understand fast, but this didn't feel right at all. An hour later my fingers started hurting here and there and it took more than 24 hours for the pain to go away. Now 3 days later I discovered that one of my nails has a crack, never before happened to me. My daughter's nails are all different lengths - not just a bit, a very visible difference. Never going there again, A perfect example for a bad managment. This is my first review ever, I do not usually have time for reviews, but this place sucks big time. read more

Really a 3.5. Decent manicure. Lady who did my nails was sweet. Not all of my nail bed is painted so that's a bit annoying- the sides aren't totally covered, and so so on the filing- ever so slightly uneven. Not sure if it's this place or the new thing but the hand massage during the mani was all of 20-30 seconds a hand. That's the best part! For $10 and the 35 min I had it was worth it, and if I lived around here I'd prob go back. Note, the place next door has a awful sign about the owner getting let go from this place and opening that one. So, it has more reviews but that was such a turn off I didn't go in. read more

This is the second time I've been there for a powder gel manicure. Both times it was done by the same woman. I think her name is Lin or Lim. The first time she was a bit rough. She squeezed my fingers quite hard when she was doing my nails, but she did a decent job so I went back a second time. This time not only was she rough with my fingers, she cut my cuticle with the electronic gadget they use to sand down your nails twice! The first time she put some kind of ointment on the cut... the second time I literally jumped and said "ouch" it hurt so badly, and she barely flinched! No ointment on the second one -- she didn't even say sorry either times and I know she knows English. She was rushing a bit and being careless. It was obvious. Also, this time one of my nails are uneven, so all of that sanding down obviously didn't do any good in the end. She couldn't be bothered to take the powder off the sides of my pinky - see picture attached. Really debating going back there a third time. I think she's the only woman trained on the powder gel, and it's a convenient location for me, but I'm honestly scared of getting cut again. read more

The staff are incredibly gentle and detailed - they always add extra service like massages. I am always satisfied with the way they do my manicure/pedicure. The owner is also really sweet and welcoming, she's known to give free service (children's manicure, extra massage time, etc) occasionally. The lemon spa pedicure is great and the manicure comes with a hot wax treatment. I do not understand the previous reviews. The pedicure, the two times I went, was fine as far as someone polishing your nails goes. I could do that myself. The $20 for a relaxing experience was not happening. The nail person was like a dead fish. She had no interest in massaging my feet and did little more then tickle my legs up and down. She also could be less interested in doing her job (which I don't blame her) as she was looking left and right the entire time to see what was going on in the salon. She was clearly bored. It was the same experience the last time I went and with a different person but I thought I would give it another try. Wrong!! And she asked me if I wanted a spa pedicure two seconds after I sat down. Was I to know how she would do and if it was worth it? She then asked me if I wanted a 10 min. massage right after she started. Glad I didn't agree since she was awful. No foot massage there. And then she asked me if I was getting a manicure. Well if she spent as much time really doing a pedicure as she spent asking me for ad ons, I might have thought about a third time go back...but nah, it was a waste of money and time.
