Got a gel manicure here a week ago. The salon was totally empty and still the manicure felt rushed. Unsurprisingly, the gel peeled completely off one of the nails within a week. I went back in to ask them to repaint just the one nail, and they claimed that they were very busy and I would have to wait over an hour for someone to be free to paint my one singular nail. I came in for a gel pedicure and during my service I was quietly whispering on the phone. A staff member approached me and said another customer complained about me talking and asked me to lower my voice but I was already speaking softly and the interaction made the experience a very uncomfortable because other people were talking as well and loudly and they were not approached. read more

I went on in for a gel + spa pedicure and a gel manicure. My technician was really nice and she was very thorough with the pedicure. It gave me the relaxation that I really needed that day and I was (and still am) satisfied with the end results. However, it felt like she was rushing through the manicure. When she finished, it looked decent--just a tad bit uneven near the cuticles, but nothing really to complain about. This was on Monday. By Wednesday one of the nails had already started to lift and by Friday there were four more. I was careful not to agitate it more in an attempt to make it last for as long as possible but one of them ripped off the next day. Overall, I would say it was an enjoyable experience. The salon was clean and the staff was friendly. I absolutely loved the quick massage given by one of the assistants and I would even go back just for a massage if that's an offered service. I've been searching for a new Nail Spa for sometime now. I live in Westchester and with Remote work babe not been to the city where I generally do my nails. I came to Yelp in search of and this was a second choice but they had an available appointment. To my surprise I have driven past it many times and didn't realize. It's in the plaza at Vernon Hills so there's lots of parking. Win! I had Jay as my professional for the day. I opted for the gel spa pedicure and gel manicure. Jay was efficient in removing my old gel, she moved with care and speed. I got a call before my appointment, was greeted and taken to my seat as soon as I came in. She scrubbed my feet well, most places skimp on that. She checked to see where needed more care. She massaged and painted. She rinsed off before applying the lotion. The honey mix for my legs have left them so smooth soft and supple feeling. I have round nailbeds and most manicurists miss the corners. She did not! I generally refuse to let manicurist I am not well familiar with cut my cuticles but I wanted to see she'd done so well this far. it was a great decision. She cut them carefully and so I asked for a change of shape from square to oval. She did not skip a beat, I didn't have to give direction. She was right on the money. Only feedback for thought, the massage chairs are delightful, would have been nice if someone turned it on for me or showed me. I figured it out though. Also you can drink but no eating which makes sense. Not sure if it's Covid or just standard rules. Giving 5 stars because it's deserved but will come back to share the shelf life of my mani/pedi and additionally I hope my next visit is as lovely. Cannot believe this place actually has 4 stars! This place is one of the worst in the area. Way over priced for sh!tty unprofessional service. They hang signs offering reflexology, and I guarantee they do not have one licensed reflexology technician. The woman that did reflexology on me felt like she was going to break my toes. It was so painful as she dug her knuckles into my arch and heels. It was blatantly obvious she had absolutely no idea what she was doing. My leg massage was also awful. This woman repeatedly burnt me with hot stones! I had to tell her to just stop. When I got in my car I was covered with red burn marks. My pedicure was terrible and no more than 15 minutes! She never scrubbed my heels, never removed dead skin, and all my nails were clipped crooked. The mini leg massage was less than 30 seconds. She was in such a manic rush that that she made me uncomfortable and nervous. when I got home I could see smugged polish. I would never return or recommend to anyone!!! I am very picky with cleanliness of salons. This place is clean and everyone was very nice. They said 20-30 minute wait and I waited maybe 10 minutes. I had Susie do my nails with Essie 5 dollar extra. The nails did not dry all the way so I left and came back and had them redo it. They did not get mad like some salons do. This salon has an unfriendly and combative atmosphere created by Sarah and the other woman who schedules appointments. I brought my mother here who is elderly for a manicure which was done by Cindy. On our first visit we were not greeted upon entering and not acknowledged when leaving by the cold and ill-natured ladies at the front. Despite this experience my mother was happy with the service she received from Cindy and I booked another appointment specifically requesting her for our next visit. When we arrived at the next visit and asked for Cindy we were told she has to be requested despite having already requesting her. One of the ladies quipped "you must make requests" even though I had. When I booked our next appointment Sarah emphatically declared that I did not ask for Cindy when I booked with her last time. She was pugnacious unapologetic and gave me nasty looks as I was leaving the salon. The service here is decent but the attitude and energy of the ladies at the reception desk is disconcerting. Both of the women have very arrogant dispositions that undermine what should be a relaxing and pleasurable experience. I do not recommend coming here. read more

I used to go to this nail salon all of the time for two years straight. They knew me and my mother very well, and new us for being good tippers. We went in today and had terrible service. My mom's technician made her bleed all over her hand and didn't clean it up. At the end when we were paying ($150+) for our services, we went to tip (and did not tip as much as usual, due to the bleeding and waiting when we had appointments) and the woman that works at the desk had the audacity to call my mom by name and ask her for more money. She counted out the money we tipped and then pulled out a calculator and said that 20% would be $4 more. I have never seen someone ask for more of a tip and count our money in front of my face. this was the most rude and unprofessional thing I've ever seen, we will be finding a new salon. read more

I made an appointment at Coco Nail Spa and got a spa pedicure, and then sat down with Sean to get French manicure gel extensions. I have had terrible experiences with men doing my nails. Sean was fantastic. He was quiet, focused, and checked in with me at every step. I appreciated how well he responded to my needs and requests (I can be very fussy about my nails). I always went to Madison Nails up the block until they closed and I figured I would try Cocoa Nails since they were close by. I went into the salon and was very impressed by the cleanliness and the professional appearance of the staff, so I made an appointment. My early experience was fabulous because I was seeing Jessie as she was wonderful but then she left. From then on it was hit or miss with the staff and then it was just one big MISS. The pedicures were horrible and the technicians were very cold and they use that awful sanding machine to get the gel polish off my nails which have been destroyed. Today I had my first manicure since relocating to Westchester. I have very short nails and chose a pale pinkish color. Gio did an okay job on my nails but it was offputting to have the worker seated next to her rubbing her bare feet with the lotion on the tray. The complementary back massage was too light handed to count as a massage, so I hope that on my next visit I will find a less unpleasant location for my manicure and a masseuse who can show me that scheduling a massage would be relaxing and invigorating. read more
