Never would I recommend Element 7. Where to begin with Element 7?? Had our custom house built and our builder chose Element 7 for our epoxy garage floor. This was the first mistake. They showed up and installed the floor. Came by a few days later to observe that it looked like a patchwork quilt on the surface with roller marks all over the entire floor. Called them up and even stopped by their facility and made arrangements for someone to come by and take a look at the horrible job. Arrangements were made to come back and resurface the floor. This too did not work or come out as expected. They said roller marks were "normal". Had a floor installed by a company in CA back at our home, while out of town, and it came out perfect the first time and enjoyed it for many years before selling the home. Element 7 agreed to come back and re-try to replicate the floor we had in CA. Well let me tell you, that did not didn't work either. Too much sealer and super glossy and scratched easily. Time #4 - Element 7 came back out, took the surface down and re-did the entire floor, new paint chips and everything. This time certainly more time/care was taken in installing the floor, yet again though, roller marks and what appeared to be crop circles in the surface of the floor. Had the OWNER Caleb stop by and see it with his own eyes. Absolutely unacceptable. They then prepared a "document" which was a joke, saying that if we come out one more time to "try" and make it right, that it would be last time they were coming out and we would "have" to accept it without further action or refund. Horrible way to conduct a business. TIME #5 - Element 7 came back again, with a gentleman that had been in the business doing decorative concrete for over 10+years to supervise the crew. They sanded down the surface and reapplied the sealer. Well wouldn't you know it still lines in it. Final assessment of Element 7 - They don't know how to do a simple epoxy floor without leaving roller marks all over the place and yet they think it's good? Emailed the owner (Caleb) at the end of how disgusted we are with "final" product that we are now stuck with, and NO RESPONSE at all, great customer service! Haha Steer clear of Element 7. very disappointed w. element 7. i cannot comment on their workmanship,although there have been several negative comments about shoddy workmanship & poor follow up/customer support after work was unsatisfactory. they were a no-show for 2 separate appointments...to be fair the general manager did call the 1st time to tell me they were running behind...however i was not informed about the 2nd cancelation until i contacted the gen mgr the morning b4 work was supposed to commence. (oh i was just going to call you was the response) .when i explained that i paid to have furniture firepit grill etc moved to prep the patio for the concrete work i was told not my problem when i asked for my deposit to be refunded the mgr initially refused until i pushed back & requested the owner's contact info. now on the + side after a few strong words (not cusses) & demands the deposit was refunded & a crew showed up to help move the heavy firepit etc back all in all a negative experience read more

I do not recommend this company. The quality of their work is very poor. We hired them to do the concrete floors in our home, although it was actually the only option the builder gave us. We have not even moved in yet, and the floors already have shoe marks and visible marks from the polishing machine. There are also uneven areas and patches of material that were poorly distributed. We do NOT recommend Element7. We had Element7 put down an epoxy flooring in our garage. It was not finished correctly. They did not sand the chips enough and did not put enough top coat down. It was a very expensive job. Our garage floor started getting stains right away that would not clean off. Cory sent Matthew out and he could not remove the stains. Then Cory, with alot of requests, finally came out himself and tried to get the stains out and couldn't. Then he sanded the spots and tried to refinish just the spots. Looked much worse than before. We asked him what he planned on doing. He said "nothing". That was the most he was willing to work on it. We ended up paying another contractor to come and redo Element7's mess. The new contractor was very aware of Element7 and had corrected many of their messes previously. This ended up being a very costly project because Element7 did not do a good job and would not warranty their work. read more

Cory and his team do outstanding work. They are very conceintious of their end produuct and strive to give a lasting result that the homeowner is proud to own. Update on Element 7....when the owner of the company, Cory, became aware of our stained concrete debacle, he immediately stepped up and corrected the situation with regards to our patio. He made sure his staff communicated with us in a timely manner and they removed the sealant that was flaking and were able to stain the patio to our satisfaction. We appreciate the fact that Cory called and made sure we were satisfied with his company's work as well as discounting the final invoice to make up for our inconvenience. I would definitely recommend Element 7 especially if you call Cory! read more

If you're reading this review, it's very likely you've read my reviews on Barefoot Pools and H and H Tile and Plaster. I want to make clear that Barefoot Pools is responsible for the pool, pouring of the deck, the stone-veneered retained walls and pool equipment wall. H and H Tile and Plaster is responsible for the pool plaster and Texas Etch and Score is responsible for the stained pool deck and patio. Like the pool plaster company, we found and commissioned Texas Etch and Score Inc. ourselves. These companies have nothing to do with Barefoot Pools. Let that be clear so the appropriate folks get the proper credit they deserve. My husband and I met with the owner, Cory Hanneman, late 2008. Had I not been left so thoroughly disenchanted by the entire pool building process, I would have commissioned Cory on the spot: he was professional, well-spoken, and clearly wasn't some fly-by-night, subcontracting, make-a-quick-buck yahoo. But I was so traumatized by the entire pool building fiasco that I spent another 8-9 months interviewing stained concrete contractors before committing to Texas Etch and Score. My only regret was that I didn't hire them sooner. We stained ~1,000 sq. ft. of decking and another ~300 sq. ft of the patio and redid the underpinning along the house and steps. I had a few requests: 1) I preferred uniformity over the mottled look which is inherent in staining concrete, and 2) I could not stand the chocolate chip effect (concentrated amount of stain collected/dried in the divots of the salt-finish we had). His response: "That's not how we roll!" It was funny and sarcastic but he was dead serious. Good enough for me. So the job commenced a few weeks later. His crew was professional, arrived on time, worked efficiently, respected my property and took extreme care to work around the pool without getting any chemicals in the water. They came and went, did a bang-up job and left in two days. All that was left for me to do was to enjoy my new deck - such a refreshing and satisfying experience compared to our experience with other contractors I've reviewed on this forum. 5 Stars We originally used Element 7 to cover the very pour cement job done on our new home. We met with the owner Cory, and discussed our plight and he offered a number of solutions. He is very knowledgeable and personable and we liked him immediately. After he explained some options we settled on a beautiful stain and color to coordinate with our home's metal roof. His crew came out as scheduled and applied the stain to our driveway, walkway, stairs and 2 porches. They did an outstanding job and we were very pleased with the outcome. The before and after was amazing! 3 years later we decided to freshen up the areas. Cory sent his crew out and again they did another outstanding job of making these areas look fantastic!! I was referred to Element 7 to help with cracks that had developed in our stained concrete floors (they did not do the original floor). During the early discussions, it was quoted that the cost to repair included travel for a three person crew at around $180 hour. Since we are south of Austin, the trip cost was over $400 so we declined service. They called back and and we made arrangements that when they were in the area, would schedule the work and save on trip charges. They came one time, poured some solution into the cracks and then came back, ground them down and asked if we liked the work and should they do the rest. We agreed, they poured the rest of the cracks and haven't been back since. Multiple calls and emails with no results. For repairs, the trip charges make them too expensive; but no excuse for no return calls. Has been over 3 months. read more

Element 7 did the stained concrete in our new home. The initial stain and finish was okay, but a year or so later when it was time to maintain the floor, I called repeatedly, left messages, and got no response. This was my experience. Concrete floors stain easily even when they are sealed, and it is very costly to keep them looking good. Just FYI. read more
