I've been going to Flatbush Nail Bar for months now and decided to try Element since it was a close walk for me, 10 minutes as opposed to my usual 20-30. I also figured since they're owned by the same people it would be a similar experience. I could not have been more wrong. I should've gone with my first mind and gone to my usual spot. I came in @ 4:45pm for a soak off & Gel-X full set with regular gel polish and a chrome overlay, no fancy designs !!! at most i should've finished at 6:30... I didn't leave until 7:40. I kid you not I spent my entire evening in the damn nail salon. I've been getting Gel-X sets for years it has NEVER taken 3 HOURS!!!!! I was clearly stuck with the new girl or just the girl who doesn't know what she's doing because it legit took her 50 minutes just to adhere the gel press ons to my nails!! and she had to start over on 3 of them because they looked so crazy. And to make matters worse - she took her sweet time and my nails still look insane!! They charged me $130 for shitty nails and even worse service. Did I mention there were bugs and ants crawling around everywhere too? If you're in the area and thinking of try Element - save yourself the time and the money and DONT! read more

first time going: $164 dollars for a gel x fill in, gel pedicure, and I got was pink. no design. she took over an hour on my hands and all I got was pink nails. didn't even get a full set, just a fill in. never in all my days. I called back 3 weeks later like hey this would be my 2nd time coming here how much for a fill in and pedicure. she said $150-something. she said a FILL IN IS $90. AND THE SHAPE ISNT EVEN PERFECT. they will never see me again. too focused on aesthetics of the salon and not enough on the actual work. - a fill in plus gel pedi should be $90 tops especially for mediocre work. girl bye. read more

Got a gel spa pedicure and a dip manicure with gel top coat. My technician's name was Erica. She did an absolute fabulous job. She had great attention to detail. There was not a single cuticle left muddying my nail beds and she made sure every fuzzy that worked it's way into the layers was dealt with. The whole experience lasted two hours. I was very grateful for the massages that were included with the services. It felt like every time a new oil/lotion/scrub was applied, I got another one! The vibe was typical of NYC. It filled up right at opening and there were some that came to relax and have a ME day and others that breezed in and out as quick as possible. I didn't have much expectations since again, I barely have any experience with this stuff but I thought she did a pretty solid job. I got a gel manicure for $40 (+ tax/tip) which is not a bad price, perhaps even on the cheaper side compared to other salons when I was doing my research beforehand. However, it lasted only about 10 days or so before starting to chip. I think they're usually supposed to last 2 weeks? Popped in early on a Friday afternoon for a manicure and was quickly attended to. My manicurist was friendly and did a fantastic job! The salon is bright, pretty and definitely inviting! They treatments is great, although a little more on the expensive side. Polish looks good for 3-4 days before chipping. Specialty pedicures are great! I recommend the green tea pedicure. One word of warning is that they accept appointments but I frequently need to wait 30-45 min to sit after my reservation time. But if you've got the time it's worth the wait. read more

Its just great to be honest. Besides from the fact that they massage your back too rough while your nails are drying, the quality is 10/10! Also, if you ask for it they will give you tea! This is a beautifully esthetic salon that sets a precedence that you are in for an experience but I left feeling slightly short of being wowed. The decor is chic and it is visibly clean, pure like without feeling sterile. I can only speak on my chair massage and not other services. I had a 30 minute chair massage that took place separate from the nail servicing area. The chair was comfortable and the massage was met my needs as she stretched my upper body from side to side and arms up in the air. The massage hand movements were rapid and gave off a little too much friction for my taste but the extremely hot towel was a bonus. I think the customer service aspect was slightly lacking as I was not offered water or tea. I also felt a little uneasy with a few odd glares which seemed a little strange since I think I appear pretty normal for a paying customer, could be possible my Sasha Fierce alter ego was showing (darn it, gotta keep her at bay). Overall I think this is a beautiful salon with moderate pricing for the services. I would come back to explore the other offerings. read more

Dude. I've really tried with this place. I like the staff, I think they do a pretty good job most of the time. But the last three times I've been there my gel manicure has chipped within a week. Found this spot on yelp and decided to give it a try. I was very pleased on how clean and bright the place was. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure by my nail technician Jenny who was friendly and accommodating. They offer you citrus water and also use new packaging supplies. Although my visit was a bit pricey I will def be returning back to try their different types of pedicures, like the green tea etc and their massages. (Also tips are cash only) read more

As other reviewers have commented, and I can concur: - it's very clean (so clean i won't be going elsewhere) - it's efficient (my appointment was sched. for 11am and my pedi was started by 11:10) - the staff is nice - At first the reception i got this morning felt really frosty as it wasn't clear who the receptionist/coordinator was. But once it was determined that i had an appointment, Autumn was the nail tech who took great care of my weary feet. She was cheerful, skillful, and respectful. Once she got me to the pedi station, she was happy to get me some green tea before she began, and it was nice that she took note of some foot swelling i've had and adjusted my massage so that it was gentle. The salon might benefit from a few more drying stations and some deep cleaning of their reception sofas; but overall i highly recommend them. This nail salon, is insanely clean! The ambience, color scheme, and decor was amazing. I asked if they accept walk-ins for SNS....they do! So I was a walk-in client on a late Sunday afternoon. I was not a fan of older Asian woman who was at the register because of her demeanor when answering my questions but everyone else was spectacular. I did acrylic tip removal, SNS and a regular pedicure. They are expensive if you're accustom to regular nail salons. They do not do acrylic nails and to remove acrylic nails, they charged me $15. The services are not rushed. They take their time. They offer tea and fruit infused water. Oh and tip in cash! The reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is because although my nails look amazing, I do not know how long they will last. I will return pending the longevity of the set you see pictured. read more

My name was called to start my mani right on time! They have a ton of color options for a mani, and Gel but only 15 or so options for SNS powered which is usually my go to. I came in for SNS powder and it is more expensive the lady that was working with me told me to go with a gel color instead my nails have become very weak and I needed to go shorter! Best decision I've made! I also got a massage, where I was taken downstairs to a quiet calm and warm room! 2 other chairs were in there but that was fine plenty of space amazing massage! I've been to many nail salons in my life, but this is definitely one of my favorites. This nail salon is clean, the staff is ALWAYS friendly and accommodating, and my nails always last when I get them done here. I was thinking of going to Paintbox or Vanity Projects for my wedding nails but I went with Element Beauty Lounge instead because they are always consistent.. I'm so glad I did! Sure, it is a little more pricey than other nail salons in this area, but it's worth it. I like how Teresa does my nails and her attention to detail but to be honest, every person that has done them has done a great job so I usually walk in rather than make an appointment. Hopefully in the future they will have artists that can do all kinds of designs, that's the only thing I think they're missing. read more

I got a mani and pedi done for $42, which is pretty pricey for Brooklyn. I was crunching time and didn't want to go to bay ridge for mani pedi. I would give a 5/5 for service and 3/5 for execution. Lets start with service. They were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. My meter was running out of time so one of the employees offered to refill it for me as long as I was comfortable with that. I found that so sweet of her as she really went out of the way for me. Now with execution, after the first coat was put on, I noticed my right hand being filed very crooked. I asked if they could fix it and the lady was more than willing to do so. Unfortunately, it still wasn't straight after pointing it out twice. It was still nice to know she tried to fix it without any sign of attitude. I asked for square, but my nails came out a mix of square and round... I also noticed that some of my cuticles were not pushed back enough so the polish came out a bit uneven. There were no bubbles or streaking though! My pedi came out good too so I can't penalize them that much. All the things that bothered me were only in my right hand, so maybe it was an off day for her, filing square was not her thing, or my right hand is just weird. Idk. For the price I paid, I had higher expectations but oh well. The customer service was seriously stellar!! I probably will stick to getting my nails done in bay ridge though, just because it's less pricey unless I'm too lazy/crunched with time to travel there. TIP IS CASH ONLY HERE!! read more

I am quite disappointed with my pedicure. Paid for a spa version of a pedicure. It was completely rushed, the correct tools were not used, my cuticles on my toes were barely touched and also rushed. The lady next to me received the same service and it looked so much more relaxing and enjoyable than mine. She started before me and I finished before her. Of course, my attendant was the only one without a name tag... I can see why. Element is the only salon I have ever went to multiple times and my nails actually grow. They are using very good products. My gel manicure usually last 3 weeks. I love Maxima and Desire. Sam has done my nails before as well and she did a great job. Getting a pedicure is relaxing. They do a great job. There are a lot of color selections and they offer you tea or infused water. I walked in with no appointment on several occasions and the staff is always prepared and welcoming. I now make appointments but it's simple through yelp or my calling ahead. Kudos to Lenjam because her attention to detail on my cuticles and paint job did not go unnoticed (this time or last- and last time she helped me pick polish because I am so overwhelmed with the big selection!) I loved my experience. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. So I had this thick acrylic mess on my nails from another place and there was difficulty in taking it off because they do everything in the most natural and gentle way ever!!! I kept apologizing but they kept saying, "No, it's fine" and usually when people say that you feel the judgement and uncomfortable feeling of hate. Not with them. I have never been to a "relaxing" nail salon let alone lounge until I've been here. I didn't even know that places like these exist in Brooklyn at that. A lot of places advertise "lounge" but it turns out to be like every other place. This is actually a LOUNGE with spa like service. Most places are over crowded or they're rushing you or detached from the customer or all of these combined. Here, they welcomed EVERYONE. Lucy was the AMAZING. We were able to make reservations over the phone and even change then to an earlier time, no problem. Ambiance: 5 stars. Immaculately clean, beautiful place with soft, relaxing music playing in the background just loud enough for you to hear, but not loud enough to annoy. Pedicure: 5 stars. We checked in at the desk when we entered, chose our colors by the door and were immediately ushered to the pedicure stations that were large and comfortable with plastic dividers. Everything used by the ladies, Eva was my technician, was new and opened right in front of us. They have a variety if treatments to choose from at different price points. We chose the Elemental Pedi. It was pricey at $79, but worth every penny considering how long it's been since I treated my footsies.The Elemental includes a milk bath, coffee scrub, milk masque, parafin boots, callus care, and a 10 minute massage. So very relaxing and my legs and feet feel and look reborn! Technician: 5 stars. I was treated by the fabulous Eva who was just amazing. She was very knowledgeable and tender. A Cortelyou Road gem! I decided to treat myself to a pedicure ($27), plus the callus-remover add-on ($8) and ten-minute foot massage add-on ($10). SO WORTH IT. My feet are baby-smooth, and I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I had Pema, and she was friendly but very professional, bringing me lots of magazines and citrus water throughout my session. For my foot massage, she actually set a timer, which I appreciated, because I feel it keeps everyone honest. When the timer went off, she was still working on my second leg, and kept going for couple of minutes so each foot had the same treatment. I almost fell asleep in my chair I was so relaxed. Excellent leg waxing from everyone who works here, you can trust this place. Waxing is downstairs in a separate room from the nail salon upstairs, so there's more privacy. Prices are on the cheap side, and they do use those roller wax things unless you request the dipping wax, but they do a good job especially considering it's not expensive!
