I really wanted to love this place as I'm on a personal mission to find the most relaxing AND talented nail salon in Brooklyn. I was so disappointed in this nail salon establishment. Let me start by saying that since I'm on this mission to find the best, I'm aware that costs may be up as compared to other mom and pop nail salons. And I'm willing and happy to pay if the service and environment speak to that. That being said, for cleanliness I do definitely give them a TEN. Everything was super spotless, super brand new, and the tools used on my feet were brand new from a package. They covered the foot sink with plastic as well. My service I would give a FOUR out of ten. My water was on the chilly side and when I asked for my nail tech to make it warm, she added a bit of hot water and that was it. I decided to let it go and enjoy my pedicure service. She did well with prepping my nail beds. She filed, trimmed the cuticles, leg massage- the whole works that came with my package. I did the Spa Pedi for 35$. When it came to polish my toes, oh my goodness, the young lady was SO NERVOUS. I have no idea why, but despite her nerves she was able to do my pedicure and I had to advise her to put 3 coats and 2 coats was still too sheer. Sigh. This had me disappointed too because I couldn't believe she couldn't see that. At the fancy drying station, I was offered a shoulder massage. I declined because I'm really not a fan of massages most times. When I went to pay, the lady in charge was very aggressive about leaving a tip for the nail tech- which I was planning to do anyway despite her nervousness. The aggression of the cashier really put me off- especially since my pedicure looked completely AVERAGE and medicore (insert eye roll) and the experience was average as well. Overall- if you prefer cleanliness over anything else, then this is your spot. Other than that I really don't recommend and i will not be back. $40 for a mediocre pedicure is just not my jam. What I think would make this place better is more confident nail techs, more warm ness from staff and even if they offered their guests complimentary lemon water or something! Give the customers an experience for the $$$. Oh and if you're wondering my pedicure was on 6/22. It is now 6/30 and it has chipped and smudged without me doing anything to it. Waste. My rating is 3.5 but I have to settle for 3 since that's what's available. read more

I want to start off by saying I really enjoyed my services here. I got a gel manicure and a pedicure and my tech did a great job. I was actually very happy leaving because I thought I've finally found my go to place for nail because it's been a struggle since moving to New York surprisingly. My tech did a great job with shaping my nails. I don't know why but seems like people really struggle when I ask for square. She also did a great pedicure. I got my nails done Tuesday by Thursday they started chipping and as of yesterday, a week after my services all the gel is off my nails. It's extremely frustrating to pay extra for a a gel service and for it to not even last a week. I get gel manicures often and they always last a minimum of 2 weeks. I'm not sure I'll return because $80+ for a service to last days is just unacceptable. The pedicure was worth a return tho. read more

Got a gel mani and regular pedicure using class pass points. Love the aesthetic and decor of the nail salon. They have the high top bar set up that makes the experience feel sophisticated. My nails were done by Yolanda, she was good but we had a language barrier where she didn't fully understand my requests. Nails still turned out beautifully and suzy stepped in to help me with my daisy nail design. The additional charge was $3 per nail for the design. I had accidentally did a big scrape of my polish while drying my toes but when Yolanda was taking out the tissue between my toes she did not see it I guess. Everything was clean including the tools that were individually packaged. I heard rosa and Gloria are great, I would definitely come back and ask for them next time. read more

Yolanda is AMAZING! This place is the best one I've been to in years. First of all it's WAY cleaner and they actually uphold their reservation policy. You will NOT be kept waiting. Everything is clean, they use reusable bowls and open the tools in front of you. I hadn't gotten a mani/pedi in a LONG time and I forgot to mention my hands are very dry and bleed easily. I moved and wasn't paying attention. The manicurist was so patient and took the time to really take care of my finger and not miss any detail with the nail polish (I did gel) even though they were closing soon and I had messed up. I didn't feel rushed and it looks SO good! Also....The nail bar is so cool! I love that they have the toe drying while you're getting your nails done. Fun music videos too! Thank you so much! After not having a spa experience since pre-covid, there was a very good chance I was going to enjoy this experience no matter what. My expectations were met and exceeded when I went in for the Milk and Honey spa pedicure and manicure last weekend. The pedicure was very relaxing, and as another reviewer recommended, make sure to set aside a good amount of time to enjoy it (spa pedi and reg mani was around 90-100 mins). The staff is wonderful, the spa is immaculate, and I went in today for a manicure and left relaxed and happy. Their covid precautions are on point too - plexi-glass where social distancing isn't possible and a mask mandate. Someone came in without a mask and the staff had one available for them so they could keep their appointment. read more

I've gone a couple of times because it is super close to where I live, but ultimately I was disappointed with the service and stopped going. The first time I went, the nail technician actually stabbed me in the finger with the cuticle cutter somehow. It broke a layer of skin. She was regretful about it but it didn't leave a good impression. The manicure also started chipping after 1 or 2 days. I went at least one other time and the staff are very nice but don't seem very experienced and again the manicures chip way faster than the ones that I've gotten at other places. So I don't think I'll go back. I also don't like the playlist of music videos they always have playing on the two TVs. read more

It's been over a week since I got my nails done. I worked over 30 hours doing direct patient care (lots of hand washing), cleaned the bathroom, made several dinners and not even one nail chipped! Both times (saw Aimee for regular, Gloria for gel) the manicures looked fantastic and lasted much longer than I'm used to. Hands down the best nail salon I've been to in my life. My gel manicures last a month without chipping. The quality is amazing, down to my cuticles and shaping my nails. I've never been as happy with my nails as I've been since coming to Wellzen. The place is beautiful and immaculately clean. Angie is so sweet and friendly. Rosa does an amazing massage. Tried them out for the first time a few weeks ago and took advantage of their weekly specials. Overall good and clean experience but as others said, it's a little pricier than other salons but worth it for the ambiance. The tools are single use and in sterilized packs which I appreciate. Hand nail filings/clippings weren't always immediately cleaned up post client so that could be better. What I will rave about is the pedicure. I got a spa pedicure with Cristina, and I highly recommend her if you're looking for a solid food scrub. She really got my calluses which I needed as this was my first pedicure since the start of the pandemic. I took a star off because I got a gel manicure since I'm hard on my hands. Sadly my thumb chipped 3 days in which I was surprised since I thought it was nearly impossible with a gel manicure (and has never happened with the many I've gotten over the years). However another person mentioned this happened to them so I wasn't entirely shocked but disappointed. I didn't bother going to get it fixed since I was away at an event. By day 10, four gel nails chipped. My feet on the other hand, Cristina did an amazing job. Feet are still looking ok even after all this time. TL;DR good weekly specials, pretty clean/sanitary, Cristina gives good pedis, pricier than other salons but ambiance is nicer. read more
